Method number 1 is classic, simple and elegant.

This method of folding a scarf is called “Presidential”. It is one of the easiest ways to fold a scarf. This method is best suited for formal meetings and is used under a classic black tie. Usually the classic pocket square is made of silk or linen.

Method number 1 Method number 1 “Presidential”

Instructions:

  1. Place the pocket square on any surface with the flat side facing you.
  2. Fold the scarf in half.
  3. Fold up the bottom corner of the scarf, leaving a small space at the top (about 2-3 cm), depending on the depth of your pocket.
  4. Place a pocket square in your jacket pocket and straighten the fabric to avoid wrinkling. Attention! The scarf should not hang out of the pocket, folding in half.

Method number 2 – 'With one corner'

Another popular way to fold a pocket square is “One Corner”. It fits any type of dress code. I recommend using a bandana, not white.

Method number 2 Method number 2 “With one corner”

Instructions:

  1. Place the pocket square on a clean, flat surface with the corner facing you.
  2. Fold the scarf in half.
  3. Fold the left edge slightly past the center.
  4. The same is on the opposite side.
  5. Finally, place the pocket square in your jacket pocket.

Method number 3 – Interesting & Difficult

If you want to stand out a little or give your outfit some informality, I recommend this method of folding a pocket square. Sometimes referred to as 'Two Corners on Top' It fits any check patterned scarf. In addition, you can use not only silk, but also scarves from other fabrics. Personally, I choose shawls with patterns or 'monograms'. It looks very unusual and at the same time fits a formal dress code.

Method number 3 Method number 3 “Two corners from above”

Instructions:

  1. Place the pocket square on a clean, flat surface with the corner facing you.
  2. Take the bottom corner and pull towards the top, stacking so that there are two corners or 'mountains'.
  3. Fold the left edge slightly past the center.
  4. The same is on the opposite side.
  5. Finally, place the pocket square in your jacket pocket, gently smoothing the top edges.

Method number 4 – 'Crown'

This type of pocket square fold is sometimes called “three corners up” or “crown”. Ideal for patterned and colored pocket squares. While this method works better with formal wear, I think pairing it with a blazer or cardigan will make your look equally sophisticated.

Method number 4 Method number 4 “Crown”

Instructions:

  1. Place the pocket square on a clean, flat surface with the corner facing you.
  2. Take the bottom corner and pull towards the top, stacking so that there are two corners or 'mountains'.
  3. Take the left edge and pull towards the top so that you have three corners or 'mountains'.
  4. The remaining right corner must be folded exactly at 90 degrees and, making an effort, do not allow the scarf to turn back.
  5. Place the pocket square in your jacket pocket.

Method number 5 – 'Pyshka' or informal way

This method of folding a pocket square is sometimes called “Donut”. It's perfect for a more casual outfit (Casual if you like or Business-casual). In my opinion, it works best for a patterned shawl or in a square pattern. Fits under a plaid shirt or shirt with polka dots, with patterns (we also call such shirts 'with cucumbers'). Folding a scarf in this way is unlikely to go with party clothes or a formal suit.

Method number 5 Method number 5 “Pyshka”

Instructions:

  1. Place the pocket square on a flat surface.
  2. Now 'pinch' the pocket square in the center and pull up.
  3. Pull out the scarf as shown in picture No. 3.
  4. Next, turn the scarf upside down.
  5. Finally, tuck the pocket square in your pocket and roll up the overhanging ends. It will look quite uneven, but it should be.

Finally

And finally. The stylish gentleman's pocket square is a decorative accessory and cannot be used to wipe the nose or tears of a girl, lady. For these purposes, it is necessary to have an ordinary cotton scarf, which is usually stored in the back pocket of your trousers or in the inner pocket of your jacket.
