Rating of the best gas hobs according to user reviews

Ratings of electronics and engineering goods

Review of the best according to the editorial board. On the selection criteria. This material is subjective and does not constitute advertising and does not serve as a purchase guide. Before buying, you need to consult with a specialist.

When buying a new gas stove, consumers most often want to buy an 'all-in-one' – a complete unit with a hob, oven and dish compartment. But there are cases when conditions do not allow to install such a large 'bedside table', or there is simply no need for it. In this case, it makes sense to choose from compact independent gas hobs. Our experts have prepared for you a list of the most interesting solutions on the market today. For your convenience, we have divided the rating into categories by price segments and separately – by type of coverage.

Which company to buy a gas hob

Gas stoves and, in particular, independent hobs are produced by many companies, and sometimes it is not easy to understand the variegated variety of brands the first time. Moreover, a number of brands have big questions about their true origin. Thanks to the experts, we will clarify these issues for you today.

  1. Let's start with brands for which there are no questions and cannot be. These are trademarks that everyone knows: German BOSH and Siemens, Italian Indesit, Swedish Electrolux. These names have been famous all over the world for many decades, and the history of some goes back more than a century. Even the Belarusian trade mark GEFEST (the plant of the JV OJSC 'Brestgazoapparat') is so familiar to all of us and so predictable that the equipment of this brand can be confidently considered one of the best in its inexpensive class.
  2. Less obvious, but at the same time exactly the same brands tested for decades are Swedish Asko (owned by the Gorenje Group holding), Italian Smeg (luxury appliances).

And, finally, the most interesting thing is trademarks that are disguised as a particular country of production, in fact, having a very distant relationship to it, or even none at all.

  1. First of all, Fornelli. The manufacturer's marketers are doing their best to position their equipment as Italian, but without direct statements, otherwise the company would have been in court long ago. In fact, Fornelli gas hobs are assembled in China, and only individual parts can be Italian in them. There is information that the Fornelli trademark belongs to the Russian company Coventdom, the owner of such well-known brands as Shindo, Flavia and Kronasteel. Fornelli's Russian roots are also indicated by the fact that the official website is presented only in Russian. Despite all this, gas hobs of this brand pleasantly surprise with their quality and functionality.
  2. Hansa gas hobs are manufactured in Poland at the facilities of the factories of the Polish company Amica Wronki S.A. Here, as in the case of Fornelli, there is deceit with branding – the Hansa technique is 'unobtrusively' positioned as German, in fact, it is not at all. Nevertheless, the technique is very solid, and the price is mostly affordable. By the way, the same Polish factories also produce 'German' Kaiser hobs.
  3. Finally, the 'British' MAUNFELD technique. From the UK in this trademark only the place of registration, and the equipment itself is produced, according to the manufacturer, in Poland, France, Italy, Turkey and … China. It is completely unknown which parts are produced where, and something suggests that the lion's share of the components and the assembly itself are made in the Middle Kingdom. The patent holder of MAUNFELD in the Russian Federation is a certain LLC 'VADAN Ltd'. It's fair to say that MAUNFELD hobs are really good, and even good.

The best inexpensive gas hobs

Let's start our rating with gas hobs of the most affordable price segment. Our experts have identified four interesting models: Fornelli PGA 45 Fiero WH, GEFEST CH 1211, Indesit PAA 642 BK and Hansa BHGI63100018. Despite all the 'budget' of the listed models, each of them is equipped with such functions important for convenience and safety as electric ignition and gas control. The electric ignition is automatic, that is, it is built into the switches. Gas control automatically shuts off the gas supply if the burner flame goes out.

Fornelli PGA 45 Fiero WH

Rating: 4.8

Fornelli PGA 45 Fiero WH

As mentioned above, the Fornelli trademark has a very distant relationship to Italy, but there is still something Italian in the Fornelli PGA 45 Fiero WH hob. These are the burners. All other parts and the assembly itself are made in China. But despite this 'guerrilla' branding, this unit is quite worthy of attention.

The slab is very compact – only 45 x 51 cm. The surface is made of tempered glass, which makes the panel very easy to clean. Contains three hotplates including the triple crown express hotplate. It comes with a special adapter for WOK dishes. Rotary metal adjusters are located in the front strictly in the center. The gas hob is also equipped with cast iron grates and liquefied gas jets.

It is highly advisable to entrust the installation and connection to a good specialist, since Fornelli PGA 45 Fiero WH requires fine adjustment of the gas pressure. Otherwise, the large burner with the gas turned on will emit a noticeable whistle – this is noted by many users.

Prices: 11840 – 15103 rubles.

Advantages

  • metal adjustment knobs;
  • WOK burner.
  • ease of cleaning;
  • tempered glass surface;
  • stylish design;
  • Italian burners;

disadvantages

  • not entirely honest positioning of the manufacturing country;
  • for some users, the large cooking zone gives off an unpleasant odor.
  • requires careful adjustment of gas pressure during installation;

GEFEST CH 1211

Rating: 4.6

GEFEST CH 1211

The Belarusian-made GEFEST CH 1211 gas hob is a vivid example of the technology of this brand. Design is not the strongest side of this stove, but it is solid, reliable and has functions that are already considered standard (electric ignition, gas control). Unit dimensions – 9.5x59x51 cm, surface coating – white enamel. The control knobs are plastic and are generally questionable in terms of durability. The control panel is located on the side, on the right.

The GEFEST CH 1211 hob contains 4 cooking zones. The presence of an express burner is declared, but in this case it is just a name, since the gas flow rate in the context of the entire panel is standard, and if it is supposed to often do quick frying, it is better to look at another model.

It is completed with cast iron grates and special metal strips for attachment to the table top. However, the slab does not adhere to the surface tightly, which is why dirt is packed under it. Consumers get out of the situation by treating the perimeter with silicone sealant.

Prices: 6730 – 9190 rubles.

Advantages

  • cast iron grates;
  • affordable price;
  • easy to clean;
  • not easily soiled surface;

disadvantages

  • loose attachment to the tabletop;
  • noisy;
  • flimsy control knobs;

Indesit PAA 642 BK

Rating: 4.6

Indesit PAA 642 BK

The Indesit PAA 642 BK hob is made in Italy, and in this case, unlike the Fornelli PGA 45 Fiero WH, there are no questions about the brand or the country of manufacture. The stove, even being in the budget segment, looks quite stylish and attractive thanks to the design of the grilles (there are two of them in the set), control knobs and the deep black color of the surface.

Dimensions – 3.3x58x51 cm, weight without packaging – 8.7 kg. Contains 4 burners, of which one is a full-fledged express – diameter 100 mm and power 3000 W. Rotary control knobs are located on the side, on the right. A wire for connecting an electric ignition without a plug, which many consumers qualify as a drawback, although this form factor is very common, especially in inexpensive models.

Indesit PAA 642 BK is guaranteed by the manufacturer for a period of 12 months.

Prices: 7492 – 9990 rubles.

Advantages

  • famous brand;
  • rotary switches;
  • the original shape of the gratings;
  • enameled surface;
  • attractive appearance;

disadvantages

  • not the best build quality;
  • ignition wire without plug.

Hansa BHGI63100018

Rating: 4.1

Hansa BHGI63100018

The Hansa BHGI63100018 hob made in Poland has linear dimensions of 4x58x50 cm. Surface material – stainless steel. Contains 4 burners, of which one is 'express', with a diameter of 90 mm and a power of 2800 W. The plastic control switches are located on the side, on the right. Supplied with two steel grates.

Unfortunately, against the backdrop of an affordable price, Hansa BHGI63100018 is experiencing quite a lot of complaints from users. There are often cases when the paint on the switches peels off after the very first washing of the stove with detergent. The switches themselves do not regulate the gas smoothly, but only 'discretely' – weak, medium and strong fire, despite the fact that they turn just smoothly. Electric ignition often works uncertainly, and the switch has to be held for a rather long time, otherwise the fire goes out. This is not a rule, but it happens quite often. The performance of the gas control is sometimes in doubt.

According to the reviews of most of the real buyers, this model can be recommended for a summer residence or as a temporary option due to the price.

Prices: 6930 – 9870 rubles.

Advantages

  • affordable price

disadvantages

  • no smooth adjustment of gas supply; extremely;
  • the gratings are not cast iron and are uneven in places;
  • 'uncertain' electric ignition;
  • fragile paint on switches;
  • great difficulties with installation;
  • cheap handle materials;

Rating of the best gas hobs in the middle price segment

Now we turn to an overview of mid-range gas hobs. Experts suggest paying attention to such models as Bosch PCP615M90E, Fornelli PGA 60 Ardente BL, Electrolux EGT 56142 NK and MAUNFELD MGHG 64 17RIG. All of them, like the previous group of inexpensive hobs, are equipped with electric ignition and gas control, so we will omit the description of these functions separately in each model.

Bosch PCP615M90E

Rating: 4.9

Bosch PCP615M90E

German Bosch gas hobs model PCP615M90E are manufactured in Spain. This technique is distinguished by its exquisite design, reliability and durability. But there are still some disadvantages, and more about them below.

The dimensions of the hob are 5.2×58.2×52 cm. The surface material is stainless steel. The control panel is located in the front center. The switches are plastic with a 'metal look' coating, and this is the first drawback, as many buyers note that the coating peels off rather quickly. For not the cheapest Bosch cooker, this is rather strange.

The model contains 4 burners: express, powerful, medium and auxiliary. Supplied with two cast iron grates and liquefied gas nozzles. Despite the factory setting for natural gas (20 mbar), some cooking zones may emit an unpleasant whistle during operation.

A big advantage of this model is the presence of a main switch on the control panel, which serves as a child protection.

Prices: 18500 rub.

Advantages

  • famous brand;
  • cast iron grates;
  • protection from children;
  • full fast heating;
  • ergonomic switches;
  • elegant design;

disadvantages

  • noisy work;
  • there are no rubber gaskets at the junction of the grille and stops;
  • unstable coating on switches;
  • plastic switches;
  • easily soiled surface;

Fornelli PGA 60 Ardente BL

Rating: 4.9

Fornelli PGA 60 Ardente BL

Above, we have already described the problems with the branding of the 'Italian' Fornelli equipment, but still the quality of these products is quite decent, and another hob of this brand – Fornelli PGA 60 Ardente BL, now in the middle price segment, appeared in the field of view of our experts.

The dimensions of the unit are 58×51 cm, and the weight is 12.2 kg. Like the budget Fornelli PGA 45 Fiero WH, this model is equipped with Italian hobs from the famous Sabaf company. All other materials and assembly are Chinese. There are four burners in total, one of them is a powerful 3800 W 'three flame' burner. It comes with an adapter for WOK dishes. The panel is also equipped with two cast iron grates and liquefied gas nozzles.

The surface is made of tempered glass, and according to numerous reviews, it is very easy to clean. Fornelli PGA 60 Ardente BL is produced in two colors – black and white. The surface is decorated with a cross-shaped pattern, and in general the slab has a presentable appearance.

Real customers note the location of the large hotplate on the first line as an advantage of this model. Of the minuses – a gap of 3 mm between the panel and the table top. The kit comes with a special foam rubber tape to fill this gap, but according to the same reviews, it does not fit snugly.

Advantages

  • exquisite design;
  • cast iron grates and burners;
  • burner 'three flames';
  • Italian burners;
  • the presence of a WOK adapter;
  • tempered glass surface;

disadvantages

  • 'dishonest' branding;
  • unsteady operation of the electric ignition on a small burner;
  • loose fit to the table top;

Electrolux EGT 56142 NK

Rating: 4.8

Electrolux EGT 56142 NK

The Swedish hob Electrolux EGT 56142 NK has a linear dimensions of 4x58x51 cm and is distinguished by an exquisite presentable design. The surface material is easily washable tempered glass. True, according to user reviews, the surface is quite easily soiled, and it often has to be washed from the slightest splashes.

The panel contains 4 hotplates, of which one is an express with a power of 2700 W. It is completed with four cast iron grilles of compact dimensions and non-standard shape, which most of the users liked. Also included is a gas conversion kit (for liquefied gas). The control panel is located on the side, on the right. Regulators are made of stainless steel, which is also noted by users as an advantage.

The Electrolux EGT 56142 NK hobs are assembled in Italy. Official manufacturer's warranty – 12 months.

Advantages

  • famous brand;
  • cast iron compact grilles;
  • stainless steel regulators;
  • easy to clean;
  • stylish design and 'expensive' appearance;
  • European assembly;

disadvantages

  • easily soiled surface.

MAUNFELD MGHG 64 17RIG

Rating: 4.7

MAUNFELD MGHG 64 17RIG

Another example of manipulation with the origin of the brand, as mentioned above, but in the case of the MAUNFELD MGHG 64 17RIG hob it is extremely difficult to find pronounced quality drawdowns or engineering flaws, so the brand holder can be forgiven for these tricks.

This model belongs to the class 'gas on glass', and the surface of the tempered glass has a matte texture. This is a huge advantage in terms of preservation of appearance – many types of contamination on such a surface are simply not visible. The panel contains 4 burners, and one of them is 'three flames' with a WOK adapter included. In this regard, MAUNFELD MGHG 64 17RIG has something in common with the above-described Fornelli plates. The burners themselves are Italian-made by SABAF. The power of the triple WOK cooking zone is 2500 W.

The hob control panel is frontal, the group of controls is located on the right side of the panel. Control knobs – all-metal, full-bodied, golden color. The panel is completed with two cast iron grates and four nozzles for liquefied gas. The dimensions of the unit are 60×51 cm.

Prices: 18682 – 20100 rubles.

Advantages

  • presentable appearance;
  • general high ergonomics;
  • WOK adapter;
  • burner 'triple crown';
  • high quality tempered glass coating;
  • cast iron grates;
  • metal regulators;

disadvantages

  • no pronounced shortcomings were noted.

Rating of the best premium gas hobs

Finally, we turn to the rating of the luxury gas hobs – the most expensive price segment. Our experts, having analyzed the current market conditions, have identified two of the most notable models: Smeg SR775RA and Asko HG1145AB. Let's analyze their capabilities and determine whether they are worth their money.

Smeg SR775RA

Rating: 5.0

Smeg SR775RA

The Smeg SR775RA hob is designed and manufactured in Italy. The belonging of this model to the class of elite household appliances is directly indicated by its design and the materials of the 'facade'. It is dominated by copper, polished copper and nickel – direct references to steampunk. Unfortunately, the nickel-plated burner rims are perhaps the only drawback of this model. According to user reviews, burnt grease on a nickel-plated surface is extremely difficult to remove without the use of abrasives, which inevitably damage this very coating.

The panel dimensions are 3.2×68.5×50 cm. It contains as many as five burners, the largest of which – the 'double flame' – is located in the center. The power of the central burner is impressive – as much as 5 kW. Moreover, this is the total power of two rings, which have independent control. The stove is completed with three sections of cast iron grates, a cast iron adapter for WOK dishes, a cast iron grill and G30 liquefied gas jets.

The control panel is frontal, located in the center. Rotary switches made of polished copper. Users often complain that the Smeg SR775RA lacks childproofing, which should be standard rather than optional on luxury hobs.

Prices: 38072 – 44790 rubles.

Advantages

  • European assembly;
  • very powerful center burner.
  • cast iron adapter for WOK cookware;
  • cast iron grate of three sections;
  • presentable and stylish appearance;
  • five burners;

disadvantages

  • problematic in leaving;
  • no protection from children.

Asko HG1145AB

Rating: 4.9

Asko HG1145AB

The Swedish gas hob Asko HG1145AB is perhaps the most non-standard model from those present in our review. And it is non-standard for almost everyone:

  1. proportions – dimensions are 4.6 × 111.4 × 41.2 cm;
  2. weighing 22.8 kg;
  3. the presence of two powerful triple-flame burners at once;
  4. the presence of an electronic timer for each hotplate;
  5. compact cast iron grates.

But the most non-standard in this model is its cost, which is absolutely prohibitive, as for a device of this type.

In general, only good things can be said about Asko HG1145AB. Two Fusion Volcano Wok burners, 6 kW each, are located on the sides and have three flame circuits on three tiers at an angle. The internal A + burners are also quite powerful – 2 kW each. Cast iron grates are very compact, they can be washed simply in the dishwasher. The surface is made of glass-ceramics, which is undoubtedly a plus, but a little upsetting its soiling.

The stove is completed with a conversion kit for liquefied gas. The cookers leave the factory adjusted for natural gas G20 – 20 mbar.

Prices: 139900 rub.

Advantages

  • glass-ceramic base;
  • 2 powerful 3-circuit WOK burners;
  • separate cast iron grates;
  • electronic timer for each hotplate;
  • removable handles;
  • compact;

disadvantages

  • easily soiled surface;
  • inexplicably high price.

The best gas ceramic hobs

We will pay special attention to gas hobs with glass ceramics as the main coating. Glass ceramics have many advantages, but special products are needed to care for such a surface. Fortunately, you can freely buy them in almost any hardware store. There are several interesting models on the market and some of them are described above. If we talk about the best, the experts distinguish two models: Kaiser KCG 6972 N and Siemens ER626PB70R. Let's consider them in more detail.

Kaiser KCG 6972 N

Rating: 4.7

Kaiser KCG 6972 N

The Kaiser KCG 6972 N hob is a pseudo-German unit that is produced in Poland and has nothing to do with Germany, except for the place of brand registration. However, the quality of the slab is quite decent, so it was decided to include it in this review.

The panel dimensions are 4x58x51 cm. It contains 4 burners, of which one is a full-fledged 'express' with a power of 3500 W. With it, according to user reviews, there are some problems. It is located on the second line, quite close to the very edge, and if the hob is installed close to the wall, the heat from the flame will inevitably affect the wall strongly. Therefore, the cladding material on the back of the slab must be strictly non-flammable and resistant to extreme temperatures.

The panel is completed with two cast iron gratings. Rotary metal switches have a frontal arrangement, and quite original – two switches on the left and right edges, and the center is free. Many users mark this location as very convenient.

Prices: 35 490 rub.

Advantages

  • cast iron grates;
  • stylish design;
  • ease of installation and connection;
  • Inox steel frame with 'Anti touch' effect;
  • convenient separate arrangement of switches;

disadvantages

  • 'dangerous' location of the large rear cooking zone;
  • only natural gas;
  • easily soiled surface;

Siemens ER626PB70R

Rating: 4.6

Siemens ER626PB70R

German Siemens ER626PB70R gas hobs are manufactured at the Siemens plant in Spain. The stove of this model has a stylish design, slightly unusual due to the beveled front. The rationale behind such a decision is not entirely obvious, but many buyers cite it as an advantage.

The hob measures 59.4×51.6 cm. It contains 4 burners. The express burner with one flame impresses with its power – as much as 4 kW. At least one more circuit and a WOK adapter are asked for such a burner, but, unfortunately, Siemens ER626PB70R does not have any of this, and users qualify this as a drawback.

The stove is completed with integral cast iron grates, which are disassembled into elements that are placed in the dishwasher. Also included are burners for converting the panel to bottled gas. A group of metal rotary switches are located at the front center.

Advantages

  • famous brand;
  • composite cast iron grates;
  • Beautiful design;
  • European assembly;

disadvantages

  • no WOK burner.

The best stainless-coated gas hob

And at the end of our review, consider a hob with a stainless steel surface, which experts considered the best in its class in terms of price / quality / functionality.

Hansa BHGI63112025

Rating: 4.8

Hansa BHGI63112025

The Hansa hob model BHGI63112025 is made in Poland, like the above-described Hansa BHGI63100018. The shiny metal surface and the overall futuristic design will fit well in a high-tech interior.

The dimensions of the slab are 4x58x50 cm, and the weight is 9.54 kg. The panel contains 4 burners, of which one is a full-fledged three-flame WOK burner with a power of 3.5 kW. The stove is completed with two cast iron grates and a conversion kit for liquefied gas. The location of the switches is lateral, on the right. Many people qualify this in this particular model as an advantage, since the control panel does not interfere with placing and removing large dishes.

Some users note problems with holding the flame when igniting, but such reviews are vanishingly rare, which can be attributed to isolated cases of factory defects. After replacing the thermocouple and valve, the problem disappeared completely.

Prices: 12320 – 14110 rubles.

Advantages

  • high-tech design;
  • lateral arrangement of regulators;
  • 3-contour WOK burner;
  • cast iron grates;

disadvantages

  • flame retention problems.

Which gas hob to choose

Now we can take stock and determine on which of the listed gas hobs to choose.

  1. From budget models in terms of functionality, out of competition – Fornelli PGA 45 Fiero WH. If the minimum price is critically important for you, and you can donate functionality, then the choice is obvious – this is GEFEST CH 1211. Indesit PAA 642 BK is ideal for you if you do not want to spend a large amount, but really want a famous brand to show off in the kitchen. Hansa BHGI63100018, like GEFEST CH 1211, is very tempting in terms of price, but along with other models it looks rather weak.
  2. In the middle price segment, the Fornelli PGA 60 Ardente BL and MAUNFELD MGHG 64 17RIG gas hobs have the highest functionality. Only they have triple flame burners and WOK adapters. If it is extremely important for you to protect equipment from the ubiquitous kids, choose the Bosch PCP615M90E – child protection is available in this segment only in this model. Electrolux EGT 56142 NK is just a good quality stove. It makes sense to choose it if it is extremely 'lazy' for you to manually wash the grates, and you need them to fit in the dishwasher.
  3. If you are a creative, original person, you can safely choose the Smeg SR775RA from the elite technology. This is real steampunk – the design is simply inimitable and unimaginably spectacular. The functionality, of course, is also excellent. Asko HG1145AB is an excellent, high-quality and functional model that will ideally fit rich originals. It is almost flawless, but very expensive.
  4. As for stoves with glass-ceramic coating, if at least in theory you will sometimes need to use bottled gas (for example, in the country), definitely choose Siemens ER626PB70R, since Kaiser KCG 6972 N is only suitable for natural gas. In addition, Siemens split grates are dishwasher safe.
  5. Finally, if you strictly prefer stainless steel surfaces, the best solution for you is Hansa BHGI63112025. It is relatively inexpensive and the best in its price range.
