LG 25UM58

Rating: 4.9

LG 25UM58

A few years ago, for little money, it was possible to purchase exclusively standard monitors with an aspect ratio of 16: 9. Their display resolution was at best 1920×1080 pixels. However, times are changing. Now the manufacturer of such a device has no difficulty in purchasing screens with a different aspect ratio. As a result, monitors such as LG 25UM58 are born.

This model is sold for 9 thousand rubles, you can find it in most Russian stores selling computer peripherals. This monitor cannot be called especially large, because the diagonal of its screen does not exceed 25 inches. But more often than not, this is quite enough for comfortable work and even for games. Only hard-core gamers will say that this is not enough for them. However, such people are unlikely to look towards budget decisions.

Almost the entire front panel of the device is occupied by an IPS display with an aspect ratio of 21: 9. Its resolution is 2560×1080 pixels. This parameter cannot be called prohibitive. But it was thanks to him that the monitor received an adequate price tag. Also, such a resolution does not cause an increased load on the video card and processor, which is good news. As for the manufacturing technology, it indicates the maximum viewing angles. The flip side of the coin is the 5ms response time. This is enough for the average person, while the player who plays online shooters may want a faster reaction time.

The screen of this budget monitor has standard brightness. Problems with viewing the picture may be observed only if the device is exposed to direct sunlight. In no other conditions, claims do not arise. By the way, there is an anti-reflective coating, which is often forgotten even by manufacturers of much more expensive monitors.

This model supports a refresh rate of 75 Hz. When watching movies and videos on YouTube, this cannot be noticed. But on the other hand, in games, you will definitely notice that the picture has become smoother.

Connection to a computer is carried out via HDMI 1.4. I am glad that there are two such connectors on the back of the monitor. This means that you can additionally connect to the device, for example, a game console. And there is also a headphone jack.

Advantages

  • There are two HDMI connectors;
  • You can output sound to headphones;
  • Increased frame rate;
  • There is an anti-reflective coating;
  • The monitor is widescreen;
  • Good quality IPS display.

disadvantages

  • External power supply;
  • The diagonal of the display will not suit everyone;
  • Color calibration is helpful.

AOC I2481FXH

Rating: 4.8

AOC I2481FXH

This budget monitor is estimated at exactly 10 thousand rubles. Unfortunately, this is no longer a widescreen model. However, not everyone will regret it. Some people don't need extra pixels. Their computer can hardly digest even the standard resolution of 1920×1080 pixels, what can we say about higher parameters.

This model got an IPS panel at its disposal. This means that the picture will look perfect from any angle. It also indicates the most realistic color reproduction, you are unlikely to be able to achieve an oversaturated image.

The diagonal of the display located here is 23.8 inches. If earlier such screens had a standard refresh rate, now monitor manufacturers increasingly rely on increasing the parameter. Here, too, you can set 76 Hz in the settings. Of course, this should only be done if you are confident in the capabilities of your video card. The increase in frequency is clearly noticeable in games, while when watching movies and working in specialized programs, it does not play a big role. Gamers will also appreciate the response time. The creators of the AOC I2481FXH somehow managed to reduce it to 4ms. A rare model with an IPS-display can boast of this!

Like the model that opened our review, this monitor has an anti-reflective coating. It also has a pair of HDMI connectors. This allows you to place not only a computer, but also some kind of game console next to the device. There is also a VGA connector on the back of the monitor. In case your video card does not have an HDMI jack.

It remains to add that the operation of the AOC I2481FXH is provided by an external power supply. This is already a tradition, manufacturers thus strive to reduce the thickness of their creations.

Advantages

  • Good energy saving;
  • Long warranty period promised;
  • Built-in two HDMI connectors;
  • There is a headphone output;
  • There is an anti-reflective coating;
  • Reduced response time;
  • Increased frame refresh rate;
  • Stylish design.

disadvantages

  • An external power supply is used;
  • There is unevenness in color temperature;
  • Some examples have poor build quality.

Samsung C27F390FHI

Rating: 4.7

Samsung C27F390FHI

There are also inexpensive monitors in the assortment of the South Korean company Samsung. However, many of them have a fairly large number of shortcomings, and therefore they are not worth mentioning at the very beginning of our review. For example, a model called C27F390FHI has very wide bezels around the display. However, someone does not care. What bezels when the monitor offers to enjoy the image on a curved display?

Most often, budget devices of this kind get an IPS screen at their disposal. However, the South Koreans decided to take a different path. They built a VA matrix here. This means more accurate color reproduction, which will be especially appreciated by professionals working with video and photography. However, this technology also has a drawback, which is not the highest viewing angles. However, Samsung has tried to squeeze out the maximum possible. Distortions in colors, if noticeable, are only at very extreme angles, at which the monitor is usually not looked at.

The South Koreans have adopted several other technologies that only more expensive devices usually have. For example, this is a flicker-free backlight, thanks to which the eyes almost never get tired. This makes it possible to recommend the monitor not only to gamers, but also to people who are going to use it for long-term daily work. However, Samsung itself still believes that its creation is mainly intended for gamers. They are the ones who will appreciate FreeSync, a feature that makes gameplay play without tearing and with low latency. Only owners of Radeon series graphics cards will be able to use it. But absolutely everyone can do color calibration.

Low response times and decent contrast are not the only advantages of the device. You can also note the headphone output present here. It is much easier for someone to connect them using a monitor than using a connector on a computer case. And this method is generally the only one if you decide to connect to the monitor, say, the SNES Classic Mini game console, which simply does not have a 3.5 mm audio jack.

For one reason she knows only, Samsung decided to save on little things. Firstly, it has placed only one HDMI and VGA connector on the rear panel of the device. But what if a person wants to connect both a computer and a game console via HDMI, while his video card has only HDMI sockets? Secondly, the manufacturer decided to equip his creation with an external power supply. At the same time, the budget monitor weighs 4.4 kg – a lot, as if the power supply is inside.

Advantages

  • High-quality image with high contrast;
  • The response time is 4ms;
  • There is a wall mount;
  • The display is curved;
  • There is a headphone output;
  • Large enough diagonal;
  • Flicker-free backlight is used;
  • There is support for FreeSync technology;
  • You can increase the scan rate up to 76 Hz.

disadvantages

  • Wide bezels around the display;
  • External power supply;
  • I would like to get a second HDMI connector.

Iiyama ProLite XB2483HSU-B3

Rating: 4.6

Iiyama ProLite XB2483HSU-B3

This is a real hit that has been in high demand among Russians for several years now. If you come somewhere to the bank or visit the office of a large company, then there is a high probability that you will see Iiyama ProLite XB2483HSU-B3 on the tables. Well, or something very similar under the same brand.

Basically, people like the cost of the device, which is about 10 thousand rubles. It should also be noted that the 23.8-inch diagonal is ideal for using the monitor at work. Although it should be noted that someone is still not happy with the purchase. Most of all, the device is criticized for its outdated design. It uses a wide screen bezel and a very simple stand. You can get rid of the latter by using the wall mount. But does it make sense? After all, the dimensions of the monitor are not very large.

Continuing the conversation about the dimensions, one cannot fail to note the weight of the device, which reaches 5.6 kg. The monitor turned out to be heavy. But he needs to forgive this, since everything is explained by the fact that the manufacturer decided to build a power supply into it. Therefore, there will be a simple network cable under the table, at the end of which there is a regular plug.

Often, professional photographers look towards the purchase of this budget monitor. At least those that do not require a very high display resolution. The matrix of this model is made using MVA technology, which indicates a very high contrast and accurate color reproduction. At the same time, the manufacturer tried to increase the viewing angles to close to the maximum value. It also reduced the response time to 4ms, which should please gamers. They will also be delighted with the frame refresh rate, which reaches 75 Hz here. But you need to remember that the effect of such a parameter will be noticeable only with a powerful video card. Otherwise, you may face the fact that the FPS in games will be lower than the frequency supported by the monitor.

The Iiyama ProLite XB2483HSU-B3 outperforms many competitors in the number of connectors used here. This device is actually a combination of a monitor and a USB hub. There are two standard USB 2.0 ports and one USB Type B connector, usually used to connect a printer, scanner and MFP. There is also a headphone output on the back of the device. Well, the image is received via VGA (D-Sub), DisplayPort and HDMI. More specifically, there is one connector of each type. We recommend connecting your computer via DisplayPort, leaving HDMI for a game console or some other device.

If you delve into the monitor settings, you will find a color calibration function. This is important especially if you want to achieve perfect color reproduction. However, most people will appreciate the built-in stereo speakers much more. However, do not rush to rejoice. The power of each is only 2 W, and therefore many will still continue to output sound to the speakers.

Advantages

  • There is a wall mount;
  • 90 degree rotation and height adjustment available;
  • Built-in power supply;
  • Extremely accurate color reproduction;
  • A large number of USB ports;
  • Up to three devices can be connected;
  • Low response time;
  • Increased frame refresh rate.

disadvantages

  • Stereo speakers are low power;
  • Wide bezels around the display;
  • There are instances with dead pixels;
  • Color calibration is required first;
  • The viewing angles are still not maximum.

ASUS VX239H

Rating: 4.5

ASUS VX239H

This budget monitor with a 23-inch display is usually sold for 11 thousand rubles. However, during sales, it can be snatched for less money, and therefore the editors could not bypass it. The device has a unique design: the lower part, including the stand, is painted white, while the side and upper frames around the screen are standard black. It should be noted that the bezel turned out to be very narrow, although it turned out to be still far from the record.

The display located here has a diagonal of 23 inches. You just have to decide for yourself whether this is enough to comfortably play or work. The picture is displayed on the screen with a resolution of 1920×1080 pixels. With the purchase of such a monitor, an item will appear in the settings Windows that allows you to increase the refresh rate to 76 Hz. As mentioned above, this will especially appeal to those who like to spend time playing computer games. By the way, flicker-free backlighting will not let your eyes get tired, even if you stay too long.

Continuing the conversation about the screen, one cannot fail to mention the response time. Declared 5 ms. Measurements can show even a slightly higher value. Well, this is the limitation of the IPS matrix. But on the other hand, maximum viewing angles are waiting for you, without any reservations. And soft color rendering, which many also like much more than an oversaturated picture.

The rear panel of the device hides a pair of HDMI sockets and one D-Sub connector, usually used to connect a computer. Another monitor is able to please with a headphone output. It also has its own stereo speakers, however, the power of each of them does not exceed 1 W, and therefore it is better not to use them.

It remains to add that the weight of the device is only 3.8 kg. This clearly hints that an external power supply is being used here. And the monitor does not allow you to hang yourself on the wall. However, I didn't really want to, it's too small for that.

Advantages

  • Increased screen refresh rate;
  • Maximum viewing angles;
  • A large number of connectors;
  • You can connect headphones;
  • Thin bezels around the display
  • Flicker-free backlight.

disadvantages

  • Very low power of its own speakers;
  • The response time is not very low;
  • An external power supply is used.

DELL S2319H

Rating: 4.4

DELL S2319H

The American company DELL continues to produce its own monitors. Her new devices are getting thinner bezels. It is possible that someday monitors will completely get rid of the frames around the display. But this will be in the future, in the meantime you can buy DELL S2319H – a device that is still equipped with a familiar frame. This model has a 23-inch display, created using IPS technology. The main innovations include flicker-free backlighting. It allows you to hope for long-term work in front of such a monitor, your eyes will start to get tired only by the end of the day. Or it may not happen if you use the blue light reduction function.

Now almost all models with a price tag under 10 thousand rubles are able to boast a slightly increased frame rate. DELL S2319H is not an exception to the rule, when it is used in the settings Windows the item '76 Hz 'appears. In terms of response time, the monitor is unlikely to impress anyone. The glossy coating of the display is also a little disappointing. It is possible that at certain moments glare will interfere with you. Contrast is also standard here. As you know, an IPS-screen displays a picture in soft colors, it is impossible to achieve increased saturation from it.

Unlike the models discussed above, DELL S2319H does not have a headphone output. In this case, the device still works with sound – it is output to the built-in stereo speakers with a power of 3 W each. The sound is quite good, somewhere in the office the monitor is quite capable of replacing the speakers.

There are three connectors on the back of the device. One of them is for receiving sound. The other two are D-Sub and HDMI 1.4. After connecting the monitor to the computer, it is recommended to carry out color calibration, since there is such a function here. However, the original picture may seem quite decent to someone.

Advantages

  • Low power consumption;
  • There are decent stereo speakers;
  • Increased screen refresh rate;
  • Maximum viewing angles;
  • Flicker-free backlighting has been implemented.

disadvantages

  • Response time – 5 ms;
  • The work is provided by an external power supply;
  • I would like to get a second HDMI connector;
  • Overly bright standby indicator;
  • There are instances with dead pixels;
  • The glossy surface will not suit everyone.

Acer K272HLEbd

Rating: 4.3

Acer K272HLEbd

As you already understood, budget monitors usually get an IPS matrix at their disposal, unless we are talking about very cheap models. There are also exceptions to the rule, which were mentioned in the first half of the review. Another one is a model called Acer K272HLEbd. This monitor includes a display created using MVA technology. This means realistic colors await the user, which should please any photographer. This device is obliged to suit some gamers, as it has a response time reduced to 4 ms. But not all. For some, such a purchase is unacceptable, if only because of the simple design. And still, not every player is satisfied with the aspect ratio of 16: 9, someone, even with 10 thousand rubles at their disposal, is looking for an ultra-wide-format model.

This monitor is not particularly small. Its screen has a 27-inch diagonal. The 3000: 1 contrast ratio is indicative of very accurate color reproduction. At the same time, the viewing angles have not suffered, which is good news. However, sometimes the colors are still distorted. But you need to look at the monitor from a completely unnatural angle. And the display is also able to please with an anti-reflective coating.

The frames of this device have a fairly small width. As for the thickness of the device, it is average, especially by modern standards. This is due to the use of an internal power supply. Well, but nothing will get in the way under your feet.

Unfortunately Acer K272HLEbd has a serious flaw. And it's not the lack of stereo speakers that you can easily do without. This monitor does not imply the connection of a game console or any other similar device. The fact is that there are two connectors on its rear panel, but these are VGA (D-Sub) and DVI-D (HDCP). Where is the ubiquitous HDMI?

We could also note the great weight. But who will be scared by 5 kg? In any case, installing the monitor will not cause any problems. By the way, it can be hung on the wall – this requires a VESA mount with a format of 100×100 mm. It remains to talk about power consumption: while displaying an image, the device consumes 29 watts.

Advantages

  • Wall mount supported;
  • There is an anti-reflective coating;
  • The power supply is built into the monitor;
  • Good color rendering;
  • Low response time;
  • Narrow bezels around the display.

disadvantages

  • In terms of viewing angles, the monitor is still inferior to its IPS counterparts;
  • Standard refresh rate;
  • There is no HDMI connector.

HP P224

Rating: 4.2

HP P224

Monitor manufacturers are working hard to reduce bezel widths. Someday they would like to get rid of the bezels altogether, but for now they have to release products like the HP P224. This monitor has a fairly large area under the display. But on the other hand, the side and top frames turned out to be very small, so that nothing distracts you from viewing the picture.

This model is one of the cheapest in this collection. You can buy HP P224 in Russian stores for only 8 thousand rubles. It is all the more surprising that the manufacturer has endowed it with a rather expensive VA-matrix. However, this is rather its manufacturing technology than the finished screen. The fact is that it is much smaller than the displays that the models discussed above are equipped with. The screen size is only 21.5 inches. Also, the manufacturer did not begin to modify the matrix on its own, leaving the response time at 5 ms. In this regard, we can safely say that hardly any of the gamers will look towards the HP P224.

The screen of this budget monitor has an aspect ratio of 16: 9. Resolution – 1920×1080 pixels. If this parameter was less, this model would definitely not be included in our selection. As for the refresh rate, the product supports 80 Hz. However, there is no need to rejoice ahead of time. If you set this parameter, the image will turn out to be unnatural, trails will appear, albeit not too noticeable. In a word, one gets the impression that the increase in frequency was achieved by a software method, and not by an “iron” one.

Finishing the conversation about the screen, it remains to note the presence of antiglare coating. Viewing angles here are close to maximum, although the display is still inferior to its IPS counterparts. Flicker-free backlighting is a nice bonus. Most of all this will be appreciated by office workers who have to spend a lot of time at the computer.

We pass to the back of the monitor. Four holes are found on it. They serve to secure the device to the wall. Of course, the 100×100 mm VESA mount will have to be purchased separately. There are also three connectors here. These are VGA (D-Sub), DisplayPort 1.2 and HDMI 1.4. Not a bad set, which you definitely don't expect to see in such an inexpensive monitor! As for the sound, the device is not capable of working with it. There are no stereo speakers or headphone outputs.

At the end of the cable provided in the box with the device there is a regular plug. It was decided to place the power supply inside the monitor. A commendable solution from the creators, allowing less wires to be placed under the table.

Advantages

  • Increased frame refresh rate;
  • Flicker-free backlight is used;
  • High contrast;
  • There is an anti-reflective coating;
  • Low cost;
  • A wide variety of connectors;
  • Built-in power supply;
  • Wall mount supported;
  • Very narrow bezels.

disadvantages

  • Very small screen diagonal;
  • In terms of viewing angles, the monitor is inferior to some competitors.
  • Not the lowest response time.

Philips 243V7QDSB

Rating: 4.1

Philips 243V7QDSB

The Dutch company Philips has not produced monitors and televisions for a long time. However, the trademark is leased to one of the Chinese firms, which annually releases several new models under it. For example, on the shelves of Russian stores you can find a budget monitor 243V7QDSB. As its name implies, it is equipped with a display with a diagonal of 24 inches. More precisely, it almost reaches this figure. But the name does not say anything about very narrow frames, and this immediately catches the eye. Only the bottom edge turned out to be wide enough, but it could not be otherwise, because it is on it that accounts for the bulk of the entire structure.

The display for this monitor, which costs about 8 thousand rubles, was created using IPS technology. The creators of the device did not work on the response time, so it is the standard 5 ms. But the frame refresh rate was increased. However, if you choose 76 Hz, then the picture can be a little tense, you need to get used to it. However, this is a problem for all devices included in this review – it is noticeable that the matrix operates at such a high frequency with certain limitations. Want to see the perfect picture? Set the standard 60 Hz in the settings.

Maximum viewing angles are an absolute advantage of this monitor. And not the only one! The device is also able to please with flicker-free backlighting. The manufacturer did not forget about the color calibration function. It is curious that to display the picture, electronics consume some ridiculous amounts of electricity. To be precise, the power consumption is only 14 watts. None of the competitors reviewed here can boast of anything like that!

To connect a computer and other devices, it is suggested to use HDMI, VGA (D-Sub) and DVI-D (HDCP) connectors. Not a bad trio! As for the power supply, it is provided by an ordinary cable with a plug at the end. It must be because of the built-in power supply that the monitor turned out to be quite plump. But not heavy, the scales under the device show 3.5 kg.

Advantages

  • Wall mount supported;
  • The power supply is built into the monitor;
  • A large number of connectors;
  • The warranty period has been extended to two years;
  • Increased frame refresh rate;
  • Maximum viewing angles;
  • Very low power consumption;
  • Thin screen bezels;
  • Flicker-free backlight is used.

disadvantages

  • The response time could be lower;
  • Contrast will not suit everyone;
  • In standby mode, the indicator starts flashing;
  • Flimsy construction.

Conclusion

This is a list of the best budget monitors. As you may have noticed, it is impossible to get an ideal for 10 thousand rubles. However, the devices considered in this article are still more pleasing than upsetting. Of course, these are not gaming models with increased frame rates and minimal response times. But you will definitely not spit on the quality of the picture, and many consumers do not need more.
