7 best laptops with touchscreen

Review of the best according to the editorial board. On the selection criteria. This material is subjective and does not constitute advertising and does not serve as a purchase guide. Before buying, you need to consult with a specialist.

It's easy to see that laptops are getting better. These devices have not been bulky monsters for a long time, functioning on a full charge for no more than three hours. Modern laptops are thin, and they work with the operating system Windows 10 – it is well optimized, so one battery charge can last for eight to nine hours. But the main innovation of the latest versions Windows is the support for touch controls. This is why some laptops have a display to match. The best of them will be discussed in this article.

ASUS ZenBook Pro 15 UX550GE

Rating: 4.9

ASUS ZenBook Pro 15 UX550GE

As you know, many laptops are sold in several modifications. Someone needs a cheaper configuration – such a person agrees to put up with not very high performance. Well, someone takes the middle or even top-end version, not being afraid of the price tag. ASUS ZenBook Pro 15 UX550GE, the laptop that opens our rating, also has several modifications. Unfortunately, not the largest number of laptops arrived in Russian stores, so most often there are two versions on the shelves. The former is designed for office use and media playback, while the other is capable of more complex tasks. A top-end computer will suit even those who are going to do video editing!

For the most sophisticated version, they ask for around 180 thousand rubles. Therefore, it should come as no surprise that it has the best components available. For example, a 1TB solid-state drive is intended for storing files. It seems that this will be enough even for a gamer who wants to install a couple of toys on a laptop. The laptop also received 16 GB of DDR4 RAM. Well, a six-core Intel Core i7 8750H is used as a processor. By default, this chip runs at 2.2GHz. But if the laptop is powered by mains power, then you can use Turbo Boost mode when the frequency is significantly increased. This feature is useful just for video editing and 3D modeling.

The main distinguishing feature of the top-end modification is a discrete graphics card. NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 Ti will run most modern games at very high graphics settings. This video adapter includes 4 GB of GDDR5 memory. All this will prevent the laptop from becoming obsolete in the next three to four years, which is good news.

Of course, such an expensive laptop displays the image on a display that has a full 4K resolution. The touch layer simplifies control in some programs. Well, the 15.6-inch diagonal allows you not to think about displaying images on a monitor or TV. Although there is such an opportunity – the laptop has two Thunderbolt 3 and one HDMI.

If we are talking about connectors, then the owner of such a laptop will definitely need a fast data exchange with an external hard drive. It is provided by a pair of USB 3.1 ports. There is also a combined audio jack. There is also a small slot for a microSD memory card on the case, which can also come in handy. Well, if we talk about the wireless method of receiving and transmitting data, then Bluetooth 5.0 and Wi-Fi 802.11ac are intended for this.

In short, the Taiwanese manufacturer has got an excellent laptop. There is even a fingerprint scanner, which protects personal information if the device is stolen! Note that the cheaper modification ASUS ZenBook Pro 15 UX550GE is also 18.9mm thick. It will differ for the worse in terms of the processor – here you will find a chipset from the Core i5 series, which is less suitable for video editing in 4K resolution. I am glad that the screen remains touch sensitive. And also, as we forgot to say, it has support for the ASUS Pen stylus.

Advantages

  • Excellent touchscreen display
  • Not very thick;
  • There is a fingerprint scanner;
  • A decent amount of high speed standards;
  • Support for modern wireless standards has been implemented;
  • There is a modification with a very powerful video card;
  • There is a version with a powerful six-core processor;
  • Supplied with operating system Windows 10 Pro;
  • Decent acoustics;
  • There is a slot for a memory card;
  • The top version has a spacious SSD-drive.

disadvantages

  • The weight is still not minimal;
  • Very high cost;
  • Dim keyboard backlighting
  • Not the best touchpad.

Lenovo ThinkPad P52

Rating: 4.8

Lenovo ThinkPad P52

Excellent notebooks with a touchscreen display are also produced by a Chinese company Lenovo. The best of its range is the ThinkPad P52. This is also one of the most expensive laptops in our rating. As expected, in stores you can find several versions of a computer that differ in memory size, display resolution, video card used and some other characteristics. Interestingly, you will get a laptop with a six-core processor Intel Core i7-8850H anyway. This chipset operates at a clock frequency of 2.6 GHz even in economy mode. And if you connect the laptop to the mains … In a word, the chip is capable of performing any tasks. The laptop can be used for designing 3D models, for writing code, and for video editing. In the latter case, you will definitely be pleased with the video card. All modifications use video adapters from the NVIDIA Quadro series, which may surprise an unprepared person. If you agree to spend 230-240 thousand rubles, you will get a variant with NVIDIA Quadro P3200 and six gigabytes of video memory. Such a monster has a huge number of CUDA cores, which makes video rendering very fast.

In this laptop, only the volume of the built-in SSD is a little annoying. 512 GB is not what you expect from such an expensive monster. However, this is not a big problem, because laptop owners often store the most massive files on an external hard drive.

The image is displayed here on a 15.6-inch touchscreen display. The picture is clearly visible from any angle. In expensive versions, 4K resolution awaits you. In cheaper configurations, only the Full HD matrix is installed. For some, this will even be a plus – the processor and video card will not have to strain in order to process what is happening on such a screen. Well, if you want to get a more detailed picture, then no one bothers to display it on a monitor or TV. For this purpose, two Thunderbolt 3 connectors, one Mini DisplayPort, and the usual HDMI are used. Also on the ends of the laptop there are three USB ports belonging to the 3.1 standard. Of course, the 3.5mm audio combo jack is not forgotten either. There is also a gigabit LAN port. However, it is much easier to connect to the global web using Wi-Fi 802.11ac. Also, the laptop supports the Bluetooth 5.0 standard, through which wireless headsets and speakers are connected.

If we talk about the top-end configurations Lenovo ThinkPad P52, they have 16GB of DDR4 RAM. It is unlikely that such a volume will seem small, so the possibility of increasing it should not be of interest. But the presence of a full-fledged card reader is good news – they support full-size SD cards, which many laptop manufacturers have begun to forget.

Alas, because of the processor, video card and LCD panel used here, the laptop turned out to be quite massive. Its weight is 2.45 kg. If you intend to regularly carry your laptop in your bag, then it is better to consider another model, even if it turns out to be less powerful.

Advantages

  • There is a fingerprint scanner;
  • Luxurious display, 4K resolution in some configurations;
  • Large amount of RAM;
  • Decent battery life
  • There is a slot for an SD card;
  • A video card from the NVIDIA Quadro series is used;
  • All modifications have a powerful six-core processor;
  • Supplied with operating system Windows 10 Pro;
  • Decent number of high-speed connectors
  • Modern wireless standards are supported.

disadvantages

  • Not very large SSD size;
  • Large dimensions and weight;
  • Some versions have software bugs;
  • In the reviews, you can find a mention of a problem with the Bluetooth – module.

Huawei MateBook X Pro

Rating: 4.8

Huawei MateBook X Pro

One of the most unusual laptops in our ranking. And it is not even the name of its manufacturer that is striking (you must agree, when we mention the company Huawei, only its smartphones come to mind). The display area on the top cover is surprising. The side and top bezels are incredibly thin. Calculations have shown that the LCD screen occupies 91% of the area of this panel! By the way, the diagonal of the display is 13.9 inches. With this parameter, you will not experience problems with work. At the same time, the screen turned out to be not so large as to greatly affect the weight. In short, the laptop remains lightweight and relatively small. As for the resolution, it is 3000×2000 pixels. Slightly more than 4K!

Despite the relatively small thickness, there is a place for a video card inside the laptop. It uses NVIDIA GeForce MX150. This graphics adapter is not the most powerful. But its capabilities are quite enough to familiarize yourself with most modern games. The volume of video memory of the GDDR5 standard is 2 GB. In a word, the creators tried to please gamers and make the final price tag not the highest.

Several versions of the laptop went on sale. They are all blessed with a quad-core processor from Intel. Its belonging to the Kaby Lake-R series also suggests that the manufacturer did not save. But RAM may disappoint someone – it belongs to the gradually aging LPDDR3 standard.

It is impossible to use a hard disk in such thin laptops. Instead, an SSD is involved here. Its volume again depends on the specific modification of the laptop. But in any case, you should not wait for records – most often only a 256 GB SSD is built into a laptop. This means that it is better to forget about installing games, unless you make a replacement for a larger drive.

The manufacturer himself praises his creation for the easiest control possible. Indeed, pressing the keys evokes pleasant feelings. The touchpad is also not satisfactory. Finally, no one forbids the use of the touch screen. When organizing video communication, a webcam is used that pops up from the compartment above the keyboard – there was no space above the screen, the frames turned out to be too thin. By the way, the interlocutor will definitely hear all your speech – the fact is that the surrounding sounds are picked up by as many as four microphones!

Modern laptops are increasingly getting a fingerprint sensor at their disposal. Here it is also present – you need to put your finger on the power button. The computer also received four speakers. Dolby Atmos support makes watching movies more enjoyable. In principle, the device allows you to display the image on a larger monitor using Thunderbolt 3. However, you would hardly use this feature.

If we talk about connectors, then there are not many of them. The manufacturer tried to reduce the thickness of the device to 14 mm, and therefore, for example, HDMI simply did not fit here. In fact, only a pair of USB Type-C and a single USB 3.0 are waiting for the buyer. Not forgotten, of course, is the headphone jack. It seems that the user will use wireless modules much more often. With Bluetooth 4.1 you can connect a headset, while Wi-Fi 802.11ac is designed for high-speed Internet access. We advise you to immediately connect an external hard drive to the router by distributing its contents. This will allow at least some time not to face a lack of free space, working with media files remotely.

Perhaps Huawei has a decent laptop. It took over from the company's smartphones the minimum size, good sound, very thin screen bezels and light weight. This is a good workhorse, at the same time allowing you to play 'tanks' from time to time, albeit not with the maximum level of graphics (whatever one may say, but for processing 4K images you need a more powerful video card).

Advantages

  • Weight does not exceed 1.33 kg;
  • Outstanding high-resolution display;
  • The webcam is hidden most of the time;
  • The minimum width of the borders around the screen;
  • There is a fingerprint scanner;
  • Very fast turn on;
  • Supplied with OS Windows 10;
  • A large number of microphones and speakers;
  • Up to 12 hours of battery life;
  • There is a discrete graphics card;
  • Small thickness and adequate weight.

disadvantages

  • Not very large SSD storage;
  • Still not the most powerful processor;
  • The cost will not suit everyone.

HP Specter 15-df0037ur x360

Rating: 4.7

HP Specter 15-df0037ur x360

Usually, our rating does not include any specific laptop modifications. The HP Specter 15-df0037ur x360 is an exception to the rule. The fact is that the HP Specter series includes so many laptops that the eyes start to run up. However, they often do not have a touchscreen display. Such a screen is built into the aforementioned configuration. And it's a very large display. Its diagonal reaches 15.6 inches. Partly because of this, the computer turned out to be quite heavy – its weight reaches 2.18 kg. Someone may complain that the screen has a modest resolution – only Full HD. Allegedly, it is strange to see this in a laptop, for which they ask for 150 thousand rubles. But it is very easy to process such a picture. As a result, the capabilities of the discrete NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 Ti graphics card with four gigabytes of video memory are more than enough to ensure that all modern games run here with maximum graphics settings. That is, this laptop is partly a gaming one!

Of course, a powerful video card is nothing if a simple chipset is built into the laptop. Fortunately, the processor installed here is by no means such a word. This is a six-core Intel Core i7-8750H running at 2.2GHz by default. If you activate the corresponding item in B IOS, then the frequency will almost double. At the same time, of course, energy consumption increases, so this 'overclocking' should be carried out exclusively when the laptop is connected to the mains.

Such an expensive laptop could not get a modest amount of memory. In particular, the buyer is waiting for 16 GB of RAM, allowing a large number of applications to work in the background. As for the SSD-drive, its volume is 512 GB. Not a record, but if you have an external hard drive this should be enough.

This computer is powered by Windows 10 and a six cell battery. A full charge of the latter is enough for eight to nine hours of battery life, if the capabilities of the video card are not involved (as you know, it is she who has the highest power consumption).

At the ends of the laptop there is a fairly large number of connectors. For example, USB 3.1 is used to connect peripherals, which has a very high data exchange rate. There are also a couple of Thunderbolt 3s. You can also display images on a monitor or TV using HDMI. At the end of the list of connectors is the traditional audio jack used to connect headphones, a microphone or a headset. It is also possible to output sound via Bluetooth 5.0. It also supports Wi-Fi 802.11ac, a standard that provides high-speed Internet access.

This laptop is capable of boasting other little things that most buyers should like. For example, a fingerprint scanner will allow you to hope for the safety of confidential data when a laptop is stolen. The memory card slot can also come in handy. It is a pity that it is designed only for microSD – a full-size SD card from some DSLR camera cannot be inserted.

Advantages

  • Relatively small thickness;
  • Large amount of RAM;
  • The operating system is installed Windows 10 Home;
  • Built-in powerful processor;
  • There is a good discrete graphics card;
  • A large number of connectors;
  • High speed wireless standards are supported;
  • There is a slot for a memory card;
  • Extremely long battery life;
  • Fingerprint scanner is not forgotten;
  • Supplied with a stylus.

disadvantages

  • Very high cost;
  • Decent weight;
  • Permission Full HD will not suit everyone.

Microsoft Surface Book 2 13.5

Rating: 4.7

Microsoft Surface Book 2 13.5

The American company Microsoft has been engaged not only in software development, but also in the release of hardware for several years. It's a pity that her devices are not officially supplied to our country. If you buy the Surface Book 2 13.5, you're unlikely to get a full warranty. Although this laptop definitely shouldn't fail on its own.

The laptop includes a 13.5-inch display that can be seen from any angle. Its resolution is 3000×2000 pixels. Recently, an increasing number of top-end laptops have received just such a screen. Manufacturers try to ensure that their creations are used even for watching 4K movies without switching to TV. Also, a display with this resolution contributes to the gorgeous display of photos – the details are very high. The disadvantage of this solution is the load on the components. Alas, their capacities are definitely not enough to run games here. And video editing can cause certain problems. And the point is not even the processor, but the lack of a discrete video card (this applies to the most affordable modifications). Why did Microsoft decide not to install it? And why then ask for almost 200 thousand rubles?

The secret to the high cost is that it's not really a laptop. The QWERTY keyboard used here is detachable. So you can get a tablet quickly. In this mode, you can quickly take it with you to the meeting, showing everyone your presentation. Also, the tablet can come in handy at home when you want to read a magazine before going to bed or visit your favorite sites. Just don't forget that the tablet is quite heavy. Together with the keyboard, its weight is 1.53 kg.

As an operating system, as you might guess, Windows 10 Pro is used here. As you know, this OS supports numerous gestures that make management more convenient. All operating system and program files are stored on an SSD, the size of which depends on the configuration purchased. As much as possible, you can find an option that contains 1 TB of various information. Also, such a laptop has a very powerful processor Intel Core i7-8650U. This quad-core chip is clocked at 1.9GHz. Of course, when you plug your laptop into a power outlet, you can increase the frequency, significantly improving performance. The top modification also has a video card. Not the most powerful, but it is better than its complete absence. For games, the mobile version of the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 with a couple of gigabytes of video memory is only suitable at a stretch. But we must admit that the graphics adapter will significantly speed up video rendering. Therefore, the top version Microsoft Surface Book 2 13.5 can suit even those who need to regularly edit videos.

Slightly surprising is the presence of a full-fledged SD card slot. This should please the owner of an old DSLR camera that cannot transmit material wirelessly. On the ends of the laptop, you can also find a pair of USB 3.1 jacks, one USB Type-C connector belonging to the same high-speed standard, and a combined audio jack. As for wireless connection methods, Bluetooth 4.1 and Wi-Fi 802.11ac are used for this.

It remains to add that this is one of the longest-lasting laptops in existence at the moment. The manufacturer claims that under certain usage scenarios, 16-17 hours of battery life can be achieved!

Advantages

  • Relatively small size and weight;
  • High resolution touch display;
  • There is a configuration with a video card;
  • The work is provided by a powerful processor;
  • Large amount of RAM;
  • Operating system installed Windows 10 Pro;
  • There is a configuration with a very spacious SSD-drive;
  • Decent number of high-speed connectors
  • Supports Wi-Fi 802.11ac standard;
  • There is a slot for a memory card;
  • Long battery life.

disadvantages

  • No fingerprint scanner;
  • Very high cost.

Acer SWIFT 5

Rating: 4.6

Acer SWIFT 5

Another laptop in our ranking, available in several modifications. The Taiwanese manufacturer has tried to reduce the width of the bezel around the 14-inch display. However, he still did not reach the record – there was even a place for a webcam above the screen. The notebook is quite thin. At the same time, unfortunately, the manufacturer tried to get rid of some important components. This made it possible to reduce the weight to 1.3 kg, but it would be better if the device received a video card – yes, it would be heavier, but it could be used for games and video editing. Interestingly, the manufacturer did not get rid of the fingerprint scanner, which is very nice – the theft of the laptop will not lead to the fact that your personal data will be viewed by an unauthorized person.

Unfortunately, this laptop has a modest 1080p screen by today's standards. However, many people will be fine with this. If you want to see a 4K picture, then you can display it on a TV using the HDMI output. There are also a couple of USB 3.0 ports and one USB 3.1 Type-C on the laptop case. There is nothing else to find on the ends Acer of SWIFT 5, except, of course, the combined audio jack. However, the laptop also received an SD card slot. This will delight the owners of cameras and old video cameras.

Returning to the display, it was created using IPS technology. It may not be equipped with a sensor substrate – be sure to check this point when choosing a specific configuration. Also pay attention to the size of the SSD-drive used. As for the RAM, this parameter is less important.

Alas, this laptop is by no means powerful. Only the aforementioned solid-state drive provides it with high performance. The processor, on the other hand, can barely cope with the tasks set by a modern user. Agree, two cores are the bare minimum for a laptop chipset.

I am glad that the laptop received support for the Wi-Fi 802.11ac standard. This allows you to watch even the heaviest videos contained on an external hard drive connected to the router. The laptop also supports interaction with Bluetooth – devices.

Perhaps this is a very good laptop. But don't expect to get a computer that can run on full charge for very long periods. We also remind you again that many configurations do not have the most capacious drive. However, in the future, you can easily change the SSD – the standard 2.5-inch model is used here, connected via the SATA interface.

The main problem with this laptop is its inaccessibility. It was not released yesterday, which is why the laptop remained in the warehouses of very few stores.

Advantages

  • Decent IPS display
  • Relatively small thickness (14.6 mm);
  • There is a slot for a memory card;
  • Supports Wi-Fi 802.11ac standard;
  • A large number of high-speed connectors;
  • Easy image output via HDMI-connector;
  • There is a fingerprint scanner.

disadvantages

  • Not very long battery life;
  • Not very large SSD storage;
  • No discrete graphics card
  • Not everyone will be satisfied with the display resolution;
  • Not all configurations have a touchscreen;
  • A weak processor is built in.

Lenovo Yoga 530 14

Rating: 4.5

Lenovo Yoga 530 14

As the name implies, this is another representative of our ranking with a 14-inch display. He, too, has been on the market for several years. But the number of copies released allows even now without any problems to find a laptop in the nearest store that sells computer equipment. The manufacturer knew in advance that his laptop would be in demand. How could it be otherwise if a laptop is sold for 40-80 thousand rubles, depending on the modification purchased?

Interestingly, this laptop is divided into two categories – variants that work with AMD processors and Intel. Of course, the first versions will be slightly cheaper. But if you want more power, then it is better to get a laptop with a chipset from Intel on board.

This model differs from other inexpensive laptops in that it can be turned into an analog of a tablet. No, unlocking the keyboard is not implemented here. However, the QWERTY keyboard unit can be literally pressed against the lid with the screen, laying the device flat on the table. It is in this mode that the touch screen layer becomes the most convenient. By the way, it is not necessary to slide your finger on it – a stylus is supplied in the kit, which makes the drawing process more convenient.

This laptop is not the thinnest and lightest ever. Its weight is 1.6 kg and its thickness is 17.6 mm. This indicates that the product has received a capacious battery. Its full charge lasts for 9-10 hours of battery life. The fact that the manufacturer did not try to greatly reduce the thickness is a definite plus. At the ends of the device there is a place for almost all the most popular connectors. Only Thunderbolt 3 support is missing. However, it is better not to output a 4K image from such a laptop, and the usual HDMI copes with the broadcast Full HD of the picture. Not far from it are located USB 3.0 Type-C and ordinary USB 3.0 – these connectors will help in the exchange of data with an external hard drive. A 3.5 mm combo jack is used to connect a headset.

Almost all laptops have a Bluetooth – module. There is it in Lenovo Yoga 530 14. It will mainly be used to transmit sound to wireless headphones. Well, to connect to the router, the Wi-Fi module is used. I am glad that it supports the 802.11ac standard, which is characterized by high speed of data reception and transmission.

No matter how expensive the configuration you buy, in any case you get a laptop with an IPS-display, the resolution of which is 1920×1080 pixels. It's a pity, because the processor and video card in some versions of the laptop are very powerful – they would easily digest 4K content. If we talk specifically about top-end configurations, then they have a discrete graphics adapter NVIDIA GeForce 940MX or GeForce MX130. The amount of video memory is 2 GB. As for the processor, this Intel Core i7-8550U is a quad-core chip that runs at a clock speed of 1.8 GHz in standard mode. Only 8 GB of RAM and a 256 GB SSD can be confused in the top modification.

Is it worth buying relatively inexpensive configurations? It all depends on the tasks that need to be solved. If you need an 'office machine', then the options for 40-45 thousand rubles may well suit you. Such a laptop is also suitable for a student – it can easily replace a bulky desktop computer.

Advantages

  • The operating system is installed Windows 10 Home;
  • There is a slot for an SD card;
  • Not very high cost;
  • A large number of high-speed USB ports;
  • Supports data exchange via Wi-Fi 802.11ac;
  • There are versions with a powerful processor;
  • Top configurations have a video card;
  • Decent IPS display
  • Includes a stylus;
  • The work is provided by a capacious battery.

disadvantages

  • Not all versions have a fingerprint reader;
  • Not very roomy SSD;
  • I would like a larger screen resolution;
  • Many versions have insufficient RAM;
  • Decent size and weight.

Conclusion

Now you know which touchscreen laptops are the best. Such laptops have a serious advantage – their screen usually has a high resolution (not 4K, but still). But don't rely on your sensory experiences all the time. Practice shows that traditional control is still more convenient, especially in programs with an overloaded interface.
