Best Epson Color Printers

Epson L1800

Rating: 4.9

Epson L1800

One of the most expensive printers in our ranking. Not every resident of Russia dares to pay more than 40 thousand rubles for a printer. However, this device was not created for the average user. This device is intended for photographers who want to print images in perfect quality. The fact is that printing here is carried out using six colors, and the minimum drop volume is 1.5 pl. Excellent performance for an inkjet printer! But the photographer will appreciate not only this. The device has a built-in continuous ink supply system. This means that you can print photos at least every day, the ink will not have to be refilled too often.

The manufacturer claims that it has 1,800 pages of capacity. Filling a new portion of ink is as simple as possible. It is impossible not to notice that consumables are relatively inexpensive – it is impossible to splurge on their purchase, which cannot be said about purchasing the printer itself.

The device can print at resolutions up to 5760×1440 dpi. If you choose a lower setting, you can achieve very high print speed – up to 15 ppm. This applies to both color printing and black and white output.

Unfortunately, the ideal printer still cannot be called. The fact is that it can only be controlled using a computer. There is no slot for a memory card from which one could print a particular document. But what's most disappointing is the lack of Wi-Fi – you'll have to pull the cable to your PC or router. It is strange that the manufacturer decided to save on this.

Six colors and a built-in CISS are, of course, good. But how could all this affect the price tag so much? In fact, the high cost of the device is due to its large size and support for A3 paper. This is another argument in favor of the fact that the printer was created more for a professional than for an ordinary person.

Advantages

  • Six-color printing;
  • There is CISS;
  • Not very noisy work;
  • Supports printing on A3 paper;
  • A high resolution.

disadvantages

  • Very high cost;
  • No built-in Wi-Fi module;
  • Dislikes glossy paper;
  • The print speed could be higher.

Epson L810

Rating: 4.8

Epson L810

Another inkjet printer in our ranking that uses six colors for printing. And, importantly, it also has a built-in CISS! The main difference from the model discussed above is that printing on A4 paper is supported as much as possible. Therefore, this device is intended mainly for home use. The reduction in size benefited the price tag – you can buy the Epson L810 for about 27 thousand rubles. Still expensive, but you will forget about the money spent after the first printed photo!

The device uses piezoelectric inkjet printing technology. When using photo paper, absolutely all shades are worked out, it is not without reason that the printer already has six colors at its disposal. Helps to achieve perfect quality and high resolution, reaching 5760×1440 dpi. If you do not want to waste ink in a large volume, and you are not printing photographs, then you can reduce the parameters, achieving an output of 37-38 ppm.

But, of course, this printer was not created for printing ordinary documents. His element is photography. And he prints them very quickly – one picture in the traditional 10×15 cm format is born in just 12 seconds. Also, this model can print on labels, film and even optical discs. As for the ink supply, it is enough for all the same 1800 color pages. It seems that for an ordinary user this is a huge figure – many buyers will fill in a new portion only once every one and a half to two years.

The Epson L810 printer cannot scan, nor does it have a fax. However, the manufacturer decided to endow his creation with a color display. With its help, you can familiarize yourself with the contents of the SD-card, the slot for which is also present here. This is a good way to quickly print a photo taken with a DSLR, system, or compact camera. In other cases, it is easier to use a computer connected to it via a USB cable. Unfortunately, there is no Wi-Fi module here either – the Japanese company Epson implements it in its creations extremely rarely. In this regard, printing a document from a smartphone is possible only with certain tricks.

Advantages

  • Six-color printing;
  • High resolution printing;
  • High printing speed;
  • Printing on CD / DVD is possible;
  • Built-in CISS;
  • There is support for memory cards.

disadvantages

  • Far from being compact;
  • Some specimens are defective;
  • The photo on the display becomes clear for a very long time;
  • There is no Wi-Fi.

Epson L312

Rating: 4.7

Epson L312

Another printer in our ranking that boasts a built-in continuous ink supply system. Traditionally, it is located on the side of the printer, in a relatively small black box. This model is intended for use in a small office or home. Inkjet printing here is realized with only four colors, and therefore one should not hope for the ideal quality of photos. But on the other hand, the price of this device has been reduced to a sane 11 thousand rubles.

Importantly, the device can print with a resolution up to 5760×1440 pixels. However, the print speed at such a high setting is far from ideal. The device will spend up to 70 seconds for one photo in 10×15 cm format! If you lower the resolution for normal documents, you can achieve 15 ppm output. If you need black and white documents, then the speed increases even more – up to 33 ppm.

The decrease in the capabilities of the printer, when compared with the previously considered models, is evidenced by the fact that the minimum drop volume here reaches 3 pl. Nevertheless, the printer was included in our rating for a reason – many users are quite satisfied with the result. They are also delighted with the CISS – they need to fill in new ink only after 7500 color and 4500 black and white pages. And the set of such inks is relatively inexpensive – you only need four colors, not five or six.

This product cannot print on optical discs. But let's face it: this opportunity is required by hundredths of a percent of buyers. But the lack of Wi-Fi will be noticed by more people. Also confuses a decent percentage of marriage. Before buying, it would not hurt to check the paper feeder – in some copies it leaves large dents along the edges of the sheet. Also, not everyone will be satisfied with the sounds that are made by this printer.

Advantages

  • There is CISS;
  • High resolution printing;
  • High speed of printing black and white documents;
  • Inexpensive consumables;
  • Small size and weight.

disadvantages

  • There are a decent number of defective copies;
  • No Wi-Fi module;
  • Photo printing speed is slow.

Epson L120

Rating: 4.7

Epson L120

The cheapest Epson printer, if we talk exclusively about color models with built-in CISS. In Russia, they ask about 8 thousand rubles for this device. Its creators did their best to reduce size and weight. In this regard, the device does not have the function of double-sided printing and any other important features. Inkjet printing here is carried out using, as you might guess, four colors. And you can immediately pay attention to the small height of the box, which houses the ink tanks. Nevertheless, even with such its size, the next 'refueling' is required only after 6500 color or 4000 black and white pages.

Unfortunately, this printer only prints at 720×720 dpi. This makes it possible to recommend the Epson L120 for printing documents only. No, he also copes with photographs, but not in the best way. Also, some people may be confused by the low print speed. This model produces only 4.5 color pages per minute, with black and white printing this parameter is approximately doubled. Add to this the 'warm up' before printing the first page. In short, such results are unlikely to suit office workers.

Like other Epson products, this printer does not have built-in Wi-Fi. This means that you have to pull a USB cable to the computer, which, of course, needs to be purchased separately. However, now printers and MFPs almost never come with their own wire.

Advantages

  • There is a built-in CISS;
  • Not very high cost;
  • Inexpensive consumables;
  • Low power consumption;
  • Compact size and light weight.

disadvantages

  • Slow print speed;
  • Small resolution;
  • There is no wireless connection;
  • No paper exit tray.

Best black and white Epson printers

Epson WorkForce Pro WF-M5190DW

Rating: 4.9

Epson WorkForce Pro WF-M5190DW

An excellent workhorse. Such a printer can be regularly seen in Russian and foreign offices. Its users note that the device is perfect for printing black and white documents. It supports A4 paper as much as possible, but in most offices nothing else is needed. Much more important is the fact that even excessive use of the printer will not lead to a breakdown – the maximum it is designed to print 35,000 pages per month!

The product uses piezoelectric inkjet printing technology. But if the models discussed above were equipped with a built-in continuous ink supply system, then the usual cartridge is used here. However, its replacement is required only after 2500 prints. Even in the office, this procedure will not be carried out very often.

This model differs from many analogues in its support for automatic two-sided printing. The maximum resolution is 1200×2400 dpi, which is an excellent result for a black and white printer. But even more office workers will appreciate the print speed that can reach 37 ppm. Only the first print causes some difficulties for the printer, but it takes only 7 seconds for it.

The device is large enough. But on the other hand, it received spacious trays. By default, the paper feed tray holds 330 sheets. However, if the printer is used in a large enough office, special steps can be taken to increase the tray capacity to 580 sheets. As for paper output, the standard and maximum capacity of the tray is 150 sheets.

The office use of the printer is indicated by the presence of an RJ-45 port. It can be used to connect the device to a router. This allows you to send print commands from any nearby computer. A traditional USB connection is also available. However, you can do without a wire at all. There is a Wi-Fi module and support for AirPrint technology. This means that you can print a document not only from a computer, but also, say, from a smartphone.

Advantages

  • Low noise level;
  • Built-in Wi-Fi module;
  • Connection to a router is possible;
  • Good cartridge resource;
  • Very high print speed;
  • Not a bad resolution;
  • The most merciless exploitation is possible;
  • Capacious paper feed tray;
  • There is an LCD display.

disadvantages

  • Large drop volume.

Epson M105

Rating: 4.8

Epson M105

This device is primarily intended for home use. It prints as much as possible on A4 paper. The height of the device turned out to be very small, but the same cannot be said about the width. The fact is that the printer comes with a built-in continuous ink supply system, which is located on the side of the device. When using the device for the first time, you will be asked to pour pigment ink into the container present here. You will have to repeat the operation only after 6,000 printed pages. And is it necessary to say that you only need to buy black ink? In short, owning this printer is as inexpensive as possible.

It is not recommended to install this printer in a large office. No, the print quality with a resolution of 1440×720 dpi is fine. And the print speed of up to 34 ppm is impressive. But in an office with a large number of computers and regular printing, you can quickly encounter a printer breakdown. It is simply not designed to print tens of thousands of documents per month. Also, in the office, the paper feed tray immediately becomes insufficient, which only holds 100 sheets here. Well, the paper output tray is even less capacious – it is designed for only 30 sheets.

The printer is capable of printing not only on paper, but also on all kinds of cards, labels and envelopes. On these materials, the device can print without borders, which not every black and white printer can boast of. It is proposed to control this device using a computer or smartphone. In the first case, the USB connection is most often used, while the signal from the mobile device is sent over Wi-Fi. The printer itself has a minimum number of buttons – they are mainly used to turn on the device and activate the wireless module.

Advantages

  • High printing speed;
  • The ink supply is enough for 6,000 pages;
  • There is support for Wi-Fi;
  • Relatively small size and weight;
  • High reliability.

disadvantages

  • Low print resolution;
  • The cost may seem prohibitive;
  • The 'draft' mode increases the noise level a lot.

Epson WorkForce AL-M300DN

Rating: 4.7

Epson WorkForce AL-M300DN

One of the most affordable printers for large office use. In Russia, this model is sold for 8-10 thousand rubles. However, the device got into our rating not only because of the low price tag. We really liked its typing speed. The first print appears in just 6 seconds. Then the device accelerates to 35 ppm! If you increase the print resolution to 1200×1200 dpi, then the speed of document output drops, but still to quite acceptable numbers. The device is also capable of automatic two-sided printing. This means that the office worker will not need to turn the sheets, at the risk of facing the fact that even-numbered pages turn upside down.

The office purpose of the printer is evidenced by the fact that the manufacturer announced the ability to print up to 100 thousand pages per month. In fact, it is a continuous daily print! This is also evidenced by the paper feed tray, the capacity of which can be increased from 300 to 550 sheets. As for the paper output tray, it is designed for 150 sheets, which is enough in 99% of cases. There is also a manual feed tray – it holds 50 sheets.

It should be noted that Epson WorkForce AL-M300DN uses LED printing type. The cartridge used here is enough for 2500-2700 pages. In the future, you can buy a cartridge with an increased capacity, which will last for a longer time. The printer is connected to a computer using a USB cable. But in a large office, it is easier to connect the device to a router using the RJ-45 port. Unfortunately, Wi-Fi is not available here. However, at a cost of 10 thousand rubles. it was to be expected that the Japanese manufacturer would save some money. Surprisingly, he left behind an LCD that can be used to change some settings.

Advantages

  • An increase in memory capacity is possible;
  • There is an RJ-45 connector;
  • Capacious paper feed tray;
  • Decent cartridge resource;
  • Very high print speed;
  • Automatic two-sided printing available;
  • There is an LCD display.

disadvantages

  • High power consumption;
  • There is no Wi-Fi.

Conclusion

Now you know which Epson printers are considered the best. You can choose any of the models discussed above – it is unlikely that it will disappoint you in any way. It only remains to decide on the price tag and whether you need to print color documents and photos.
