However, they cannot work forever: the supply of energy in the built-in batteries is very limited, and just forgetting to recharge them before fishing is an everyday matter. That is why it makes sense to purchase a portable rechargeable battery that can be adapted to recharge the fishfinder.
In connection with this problem, the editors of the journal conducted an independent study of the segment, and selected the 6 best batteries for echo sounders. When compiling the rating, we took into account the following parameters:

RDrive 6 DZM 12 electro is a gel battery using Faston F2 (6.3mm) terminals, unlike all listed competitors with F1 (4.8mm) terminals. Despite its small overall dimensions (151x99x106 mm), its weight reaches 4.3 kg, and the nominal capacity is as much as 16 Ah.
The advantages of RDrive 6 DZM 12 electro are obvious: the gel battery perfectly transfers zero discharges and can withstand up to 400 charge cycles, after which it still continues to work, albeit with less capacity. Yes, for its price you can buy 3 smaller lead-acid batteries, but the fact of uninterrupted operation and quality assurance from the manufacturer completely discourages all costs.

Its nominal capacity does not exceed 1.2 Ah and during operation it always exactly corresponds to the declared value.
Overall dimensions AGM – FIAMM FG20121A battery are 97x43x53 mm, and weight does not exceed 0.6 kg. The standard service life under the operating conditions is 5 years, and, as noted by users, the battery in 80% of cases “survives” to this limit. In general, an excellent option for completing an echo sounder, however, not for too long swims on the river.

In fact, the difference between these models boils down to a simple thing: all other things being equal, their service life differs almost twice. As in the case of the replica, this model has the following operational limits: 5 years of operation in buffer mode or 260 charging cycles with cyclic use.
The overall dimensions of the WBR HR 1234W are fully consistent with their counterparts, and the weight is very close (2.68 kg, as stated on the distributor's website). The average rating in user reviews is 3.9 out of 5 points, the reason for which is the frequent discrepancy between the declared capacity and the real values.

As in the case of the Leoch DJW12-9.0, the service life of this battery is set for several operating modes: cyclic (260 discharge and charge cycles) and buffer (no more than 5 years). Overall dimensions are average, and the weight does not exceed 2.4 kg.
One of the advantages of CSB GP1272 F2 is the place of production. The batteries are not Chinese, but Vietnamese, and according to preliminary production data, no more than 4% of the finished product is rejected at the sales stage. For comparison, Chinese batteries can be rejected in the amount of 10% of the total mass produced. As we said above, this model of lead acid battery is quite cheap and is sold in almost all specialized stores.

Delta HR 12-5.8

The Delta HR 12-5.8 is a slightly more specific battery for a fish finder than the Leoch DJW12-9.0. The characteristics are modest, but the element of surprise is completely excluded – the user will always know how much time is left before the moral exhaustion of the battery. Among the regulated characteristics, 8 guaranteed years of service can be noted, as well as 5.8 Ah of nominal capacity.
The advantages of Delta HR 12-5.8 include overall dimensions. The parameters 90x70x101 look much better than those of the previous rating, and the weight does not exceed 1.95 kg. Temperature indicators are not standard, but in general they cover all the needs for operation in conjunction with an echo sounder: it is unlikely that anyone would get the idea to use the device at a temperature of -20 ° C.

If we take into account the cyclical method of operation, then the battery can withstand up to 200-250 charge / discharge cycles. Therefore, usage times will vary widely from fishing trip frequency to fishing trip duration.
