14 best full-frame cameras

Ratings of electronics and engineering goods

Review of the best according to the editorial board. On the selection criteria. This material is subjective and does not constitute advertising and does not serve as a purchase guide. Before buying, you need to consult with a specialist.

Any expert will tell you that the resolution of the matrix used in the camera cannot be considered the most important parameter. Much closer attention should be paid to the physical dimensions of the sensor. The best shots are provided by cameras with a full-frame sensor – their sensor is identical in size to a frame of standard photographic film. It is these cameras that will be discussed in this article – and we will not only talk about SLR models. The review was compiled on the basis of the analysis of technical data on the portal https://rankquality.com/cameras/.

Best compact full-frame camera

Leica Q (Typ 116)

Rating: 4.9

LEICA Q (TYP 116) .jpg

Our review opens with a compact camera. However, one should not be deceived. The Leica Q (Typ 116) will definitely not fit in a pocket. The fact is that a very large lens is used here. But on the other hand, you understand that he could not do without high-quality lenses made of the best and anti-coated glass. Some will be saddened by the fact that the lens has a fixed 28mm focal length. However, an experienced photographer will get perfect shots in all conditions even without any zoom. It is much more important to him that the aperture here is open to f / 1.7 – this will allow you to get a beautifully blurred background. Also, the owner of the camera can count on excellent results when shooting in the dark.

Inside this model there is a CMOS-matrix, the dimensions of which are 36×24 mm. The effective sensor resolution reaches 24.2 megapixels. And it is also capable of boasting 42-bit color depth. Only the sensitivity modes are sad – the maximum is available to the photographer ISO 50,000, and even then only in the extended mode.

The camera is partly reportage. At least it is capable of up to 10 frames per second. It is suggested to carry out framing using the electronic viewfinder. If this seems inconvenient, then the 3-inch touchscreen, consisting of one million pixels, comes to the rescue. The Leica Q (Typ 116) also includes an optical image stabilizer.

This camera is mainly for taking photographs. But the owner of the device will have access to the video mode. This process is carried out in resolution Full HD, the frequency will be 60 frames / s.

In fact, this compact camera is limited in many ways. If you compare it with the products of other companies, then the characteristics are unlikely to inspire anyone. But the Leica camera is not bought for that. It shows the status of the photographer. If he has such a camera, then this is a respected person, whose work is expensive.

Advantages

  • The body is metal;
  • Excellent LCD display
  • There is an electronic viewfinder;
  • High-quality video recording is available;
  • Remote control supported;
  • Fast and accurate autofocus;
  • Built-in optical image stabilization;
  • Relatively small size and weight.

disadvantages

  • The price tag may seem astronomical;
  • The lens has a fixed focal length;
  • Changing optics is not possible;
  • I would like to have more light sensitivity;
  • Video recording is carried out only in resolution Full HD;
  • Weak battery.

The best full-frame DSLRs

Canon EOS 1D X Mark II Body

Rating: 4.9

CANON EOS 1D X MARK II BODY.jpg

If the previous reviewed camera pleased with its modest dimensions, then this cannot be said about the Canon EOS 1D X Mark II. This is a DSLR camera with a full-frame sensor, which has a very large dimensions. The weight of this device is 1340g! In short, the choice in favor of such a camera will be made only by a professional who will use the purchase mainly in the studio, where it will stand on a tripod. And who else can you recommend a camera, the cost of which reaches 390 thousand rubles?

Shooting here is carried out using a CMOS sensor with a resolution of 20.2 megapixels. It provides a 42-bit color image. The result is impressive. Especially when using high quality optics.

Someone may consider the matrix resolution insufficient. But the Japanese manufacturer deliberately did not increase it. Instead, it increased the burst speed – up to 14 photos can be taken every second in this mode! We recommend cropping with a conventional viewfinder. The camera also includes a 3.2-inch display, complemented by a sensor substrate. Well, on the top panel there is a second segment display – it displays the current settings.

The Canon EOS 1D X Mark II has a ton of features. Some of them are traditional for professional SLR cameras. For example, this model is capable of boasting long battery life – a full charge should be enough for 1210 shots. Other benefits are atypical. In particular, many buyers are delighted with the video mode. The picture is written here in 4K resolution, and even with a frequency of 60 frames / s! And is it necessary to say that autofocus works here accurately and quickly? Although 61 focus points is not a record, no one would argue with that. The device also received a GPS chip that stores its geotag along with the image. There are no complaints about the number of buttons either. Also, the camera has moisture protection, making it much more durable.

Advantages

  • Excellent picture quality;
  • High frame rate 4K video recording possible;
  • High speed continuous shooting available;
  • There is a mirror viewfinder;
  • The diagonal and resolution of the LCD display are greatly increased;
  • There is a second screen for quick settings;
  • A large number of buttons and connectors;
  • Long battery life;
  • Built-in GPS chip;
  • Protection against moisture is implemented.

disadvantages

  • Very high cost;
  • Light sensitivity could be higher;
  • The camera turned out to be huge and heavy.

Nikon D5 Body

Rating: 4.8

NIKON D5 BODY.jpg

Another professional DSLR camera with large dimensions. Its main distinguishing feature is support for sensitivity up to ISO 3280000. What an incredible figure! It is not surprising that this particular camera is often used for beautiful shooting of the starry sky. It is also suitable for video shooting, here the material is written in 4K resolution. However, the frequency with this parameter will be only 30 frames / s, which will not suit everyone.

A full-frame CMOS matrix is located inside the 'DSLR'. With this 21-megapixel sensor, you can capture perfectly sharp photos. This part of the design has as many as 153 focus points, so it is impossible to miss, even when using portrait optics with an incredibly wide aperture. The device is capable of creating 14 shots every second, which is quite acceptable even for reportage shooting. However, I really don't want to use the 1400-gram carcass outside the studio.

On the body of such a large camera, many buttons and connectors easily fit. Someone will definitely find it useful, for example, a microphone input, as well as a headphone output. By the way, the body is protected from moisture, so rain for this model will definitely not harm, especially if the appropriate lens is used. A classic viewfinder is used for framing. The manufacturer did not forget about the displays either. That's right, plural. The main one is colored, and its diagonal is 3.2 inches. This screen has an extremely high pixel density – even seemingly redundant. Well, the additional display is designed to display the main settings, consuming a very small amount of electricity.

Autonomous operation of this device is provided by a 3900 mAh battery. This is more than enough for almost any photo shoot. Calculations showed that the charge dries up only after about 3700 shots are taken.

Advantages

  • Outstanding LCD touchscreen;
  • There is an additional screen;
  • High shooting speed;
  • Video recording in 4K resolution is possible;
  • Dust and moisture protection implemented;
  • Record-long battery life;
  • A large number of buttons and connectors;
  • Extremely high light sensitivity;
  • Excellent image quality;
  • Huge number of focus points.

disadvantages

  • I would like a higher frequency of video recording;
  • Very high cost;
  • The camera is large and heavy.

Pentax K-1 Mark II Kit

Rating: 4.8

Pentax K-1 Mark II Kit

At one time, Pentax SLR cameras were in great demand. Now they are remembered only when some new product is announced. But in vain. Some of the models under this brand have impressive specifications. For example, the K-1 Mark II differs from many competitors in the 36-megapixel resolution of the full-frame sensor. It is also a rare specimen capable of boasting excellent water resistance. But do not forget that the lens used must also have it. Included with this model, by the way, comes with simple optics, which will suit only at first.

The matrix located here has not only a high resolution, but also an optical stabilizer. It also provides the photographer with very high sensitivity values - up to ISO 819200. With such a camera, you can take amazing pictures even at night, without using any external lighting for this. By the way, this model has its own flash – this is a stone in the garden of some mirrorless cameras.

Unfortunately, the Pentax K-1 Mark II is somewhat inferior to its competitors. For example, he does not write 4K video – the user will be limited by the resolution Full HD. Also, some confusion is caused by 33 focus points – you already know that other cameras can offer many times more of them. Well, the speed of continuous shooting is also not enthusiastic – it is 4.4 frames / s.

But let's get back to the positives of the device. These include a rotary display with a 3.2-inch diagonal consisting of 1 million pixels. Also, someone will appreciate the built-in GPS module. It should also be noted that it is possible to synchronize with a smartphone via Wi-Fi. And the camera has two slots for memory cards. At the same time, the manufacturer does not force you to look for a drive of an atypical format. Finally, nothing bad can be said about the connectors – there are HDMI, audio out and microphone in. And only the battery raises some questions, because 670 shots from a full charge is not the highest level for a SLR camera. The weight of this model is 1010 g.

Advantages

  • Implemented good moisture protection;
  • Excellent display with swivel mechanism;
  • There is a mirror viewfinder;
  • A large number of buttons and connectors;
  • Built-in GPS and Wi-Fi modules;
  • Optical image stabilization has been implemented;
  • High resolution full-frame sensor.

disadvantages

  • Very high cost;
  • Battery life is not very decent;
  • Shooting video – only in resolution Full HD;
  • Low burst speed;
  • Very few focus points.

Canon EOS 5D Mark IV Body

Rating: 4.8

Canon EOS 5D Mark IV Body

One of the most popular SLR cameras today. Many aspiring photographers prefer to use it. There are several reasons for this. The most important of these is the price. This camera can be easily purchased for 150 thousand rubles, if not even cheaper. All that remains is to acquire high-quality optics, after which it will be possible to delight the client with wonderful pictures. And not only! Many people use Canon EOS 5D Mark IV for video shooting as well.

Looking at the price tag, you assume that the manufacturer was trying his best to save money. But this is not the case. He introduced a very powerful processor here, thanks to which video recording is carried out in 4K resolution, albeit with a frequency of 30 frames / s. Also, the camera received wireless modules, which were not previously found in professional 'DSLRs'. And this is not only Wi-Fi, but also NFC! And there is also a GPS chip, thanks to which photos are geotagged. Two slots for memory cards can also come in handy – no one is immune from cases when one of the drives suddenly fails.

This camera can be used together with an external monitor – the manufacturer has not forgotten the corresponding video output. There is also a place for audio output and headphone input on the camera body. But the built-in flash is not here. However, almost every Canon EOS 5D Mark IV owner has external light sources; without them, at least one photographer can hardly earn money.

The matrix located inside has a 30-megapixel resolution. Light sensitivity in extended mode can reach ISO 102400, which can be considered a good result. But the continuous shooting does not cause a feeling of admiration – its speed does not exceed 7 frames / s. It is proposed to build a frame using the viewfinder, the picture on which is displayed with a pentaprism. There is also a full touchscreen display, with a 3.2-inch diagonal, consisting of 1.62 million pixels. Not forgotten and an additional screen, which displays the current settings. You can't find fault with the battery life either. The Canon EOS 5D Mark IV can take at least 900 photos on a full battery charge.

It remains to add that a DSLR camera with a waterproof body turned out to be not so heavy – the scales under it will show 890 g.

Advantages

  • 4K video recording available;
  • Long battery life;
  • There are GPS, Wi-Fi and NFC modules;
  • A large number of buttons and connectors;
  • Implemented moisture protection;
  • There is an additional screen;
  • High resolution matrix;
  • There is a high quality viewfinder.

disadvantages

  • 4K video recording rate is only 30fps;
  • There is no built-in flash;
  • Not particularly fast burst shooting;
  • There are only 61 focus points;
  • The display does not have a rotating mechanism.

Nikon D850 Body

Rating: 4.7

Nikon D850 Body

Nikon is also ready to offer its inexpensive DSLR camera with a full-frame sensor, intended for beginner professionals. Its D850 is estimated at 180 thousand rubles, if you take the option without a lens. At the same time, this model in many respects is not inferior to much more expensive competitors. For example, it can also be used for high-quality video shooting – the picture will be recorded in 4K resolution, albeit with a frequency of only 30 frames / s. The microphone jack can come in handy during this process. The only pity is that it will not be possible to monitor its work, since there is no headphone output. But HDMI is not forgotten, so the camera can be used in tandem with an external monitor.

Of course, you can also crop using built-in tools. By default, this is an optical viewfinder with 100% frame coverage. A 3.2-inch touchscreen display with a swivel mechanism can also come to the rescue. This screen consists of 1.22 million pixels. However, we must admit that even with a very high diagonal in a studio, the display may seem inconvenient, which is why professionals prefer to display the picture on the monitor right away. By the way, there is also an additional screen that allows you to get acquainted with the current settings.

Inside Nikon D850 there is a CMOS-sensor, the resolution of which is brought up to 46 megapixels. You can take spectacular pictures even at night, when you are out in nature, because the matrix allows you to raise the sensitivity to ISO 102400. You can control the camera remotely using your smartphone, for which you should thank the NFC and Wi-Fi modules. As for saving data, it can be carried out immediately on two memory cards. You can also note the presence of moisture protection here. This is important, because such a camera is often used in a variety of weather conditions.

Of course, the Nikon D850 couldn't do without its drawbacks. And they do not relate to the battery used here – the battery life should suit, if not all, then many buyers. You can find fault with serial shooting. In this mode, 9 frames are created every second. Not that many, especially by today's standards. Also, not everyone will be satisfied with 153 focus points. However, you already know that there are full-frame cameras that don't have that many. Finally, the lack of a built-in flash can be noted. But which of the professionals doesn't have an external one?

Advantages

  • Very high resolution full-frame sensor
  • A large number of buttons;
  • Perfect viewfinder;
  • Excellent LCD display with swivel mechanism;
  • There is an additional screen;
  • Implemented moisture protection.

disadvantages

  • Not very fast burst shooting;
  • 4K video capture – 30 fps only;
  • No headphone jack;
  • No built-in flash;
  • The camera is not lightweight.

Pentax K-1 Mark II Body

Rating: 4.7

Pentax K-1 Mark II Body

One of the most inexpensive representatives of our rating. At the same time, this SLR camera is capable of boasting some of its characteristics. And with others – to upset, what is there to hide …

At one time, it was the Pentax company that became one of the first to equip its SLR cameras with moisture protection. So it shouldn't come as a surprise that a model called the K-1 Mark II has it too. Partly because of this, it weighs 1010 g. And yet there was no place for the built-in flash! Its absence suggests that this device was not created for amateurs.

So what are the main advantages of this model? First of all, admiration is caused by the full-frame matrix, the resolution of which is brought to 36 megapixels. In the dark, the sensor allows you to increase the light sensitivity. And how much! The maximum value available to the photographer is ISO 819200. It is also nice that the matrix is equipped with an optical stabilizer. This allows shutter speeds to be slower than usual, achieving superb sharpness even with a suboptimal lens.

This camera has two memory card slots. The camera is also capable of boasting a GPS chip, thanks to which frames are geotagged. It is interesting that there is also a digital compass – it fixes the direction of the camera's view in the corresponding marks. The Pentax K-1 Mark II also has a Wi-Fi module, which also cannot be called useless. Among the advantages can be attributed and connectors, which include audio output, microphone input and HDMI.

Alas, the rest of the camera is quite inferior to its competitors. To begin with, he doesn't know how to shoot 4K video. We'll have to limit ourselves to the permission Full HD, which, of course, will not suit everyone. But on the other hand, the frequency will be 60 frames / s. Another undoubted drawback is the burst mode, in which only 4.4 photos will be created every second. Well, 33 focus points are fun for chickens. However, with so many of them you can live relatively calmly. Especially if you don't flirt with portrait optics, which can open up to incredibly high apertures. Finally, the last defect looks unexpected. The battery used here is only capable of providing 670 shots. Usually SLR cameras do not suffer from this disadvantage.

As for the viewfinder and display, nothing bad can be said about them. The first has 100% frame coverage, while the second has a swivel mechanism. The lack of a touch pad does not bother at all – in many cases it is easier to use the buttons. There is also an additional screen that displays user-selected settings.

Advantages

  • Implemented moisture protection;
  • Extremely high matrix resolution;
  • Very high sensitivity values are available;
  • Remarkable LCD display with swivel mechanism;
  • Excellent optical viewfinder
  • There is an additional screen;
  • Optical stabilization implemented;
  • Built-in Wi-Fi and GPS modules;
  • A large number of buttons and connectors.

disadvantages

  • Not very long battery life;
  • Few focus points;
  • Very low burst speed;
  • Video filming is carried out only in 1080p;
  • The camera turned out to be heavy;
  • No built-in flash.

Nikon D750 Body

Rating: 4.6

Nikon D750 Body

Many readers of this review may think that for a full-frame camera, in any case, you will have to pay over a hundred thousand rubles. But actually it is not. For Nikon D750 they ask about 80 thousand rubles. It's like two top-end action cameras or one flagship smartphone. Not a very large fee for a device with a huge sensor inside.

Of course, such a camera could not do without many restrictions. It is surprising that there is at least Wi-Fi here, with the help of which remote control is realized. And one could not count on the rotating mechanism of the LCD display. An additional screen looks like a surprise, as well as two slots for a memory card. The set of connectors also pleases. It includes HDMI, audio output, and microphone input.

So what are the simplifications? Firstly, the device is not capable of boasting high resolution. It uses a 24-megapixel matrix, and now I want more. Also not happy with the light sensitivity – even with the program extension you will not be able to set the ISO value above 25600. It turns out that the Nikon D750 is not the best choice for regular shooting in low light conditions. Although, of course, a lot depends on the optics you use.

For focusing, 51 focus points are used here. Framing is usually done with an optical viewfinder with 100% frame coverage. You shouldn't rely on especially high speed in continuous shooting mode – the camera produces 6.5 frames / s. Well, you won't be able to enjoy high-quality video recording – the maximum resolution is available to the user Full HD.

The rest of the SLR camera is still satisfactory. It has good protection against dust and moisture. Its battery is capable of providing approximately 900 shots. Not a record, but such a number cannot be called insufficient either. And the device also received a built-in flash, which will especially appeal to those who are not going to make money by photographing. The weight of this model does not exceed 750 g, which is also good news.

Advantages

  • Excellent viewfinder
  • The display is equipped with a rotating mechanism;
  • Built-in two slots for memory cards;
  • There is a Wi-Fi module;
  • Has its own flash;
  • Decent battery life
  • A large number of connectors;
  • Implemented moisture protection;
  • The camera is not particularly heavy;
  • Affordable cost.

disadvantages

  • Not very high light sensitivity;
  • Few focus points;
  • Not particularly fast burst mode;
  • Video filming is carried out in resolution Full HD;
  • The fastest shutter speed is only 1/4000 s.

Canon EOS 6D Mark II Body

Rating: 4.5

Canon EOS 6D Mark II Body

Another DSLR camera with a full-frame matrix, for which they usually ask for 80 thousand rubles. The resolution of its sensor is 26 megapixels. Not so much, but this parameter cannot be called insufficient either. As for the sensitivity, you can set the maximum ISO 40000. Or even ISO 102400, if you use a plug-in.

45 points are used for focusing here. Framing is carried out using an optical viewfinder, which has 98% frame coverage. Or you can use a 3-inch display with a million pixels. It has a sensor layer and a swivel mechanism – not bad for a not-so-expensive camera. There is also an additional screen here, which is needed to quickly view the current settings.

In many ways, this model is simplified. For example, there is only electronic image stabilization, which works only during video shooting. And speaking of the latter, one cannot fail to mention the lack of support for 4K resolution. Also, someone will be upset by the set of connectors, which does not include an audio output – only a microphone can be connected to the camera. Also, there is no built-in flash. But the rest of the camera makes a positive impression. It includes many wireless modules – the buyer will receive Bluetooth, and NFC, and Wi-Fi, and even GPS. Moisture protection should also please. The weight of the device is 765 g.

Advantages

  • Excellent touchscreen LCD with swivel mechanism;
  • A huge number of wireless modules;
  • There is a GPS chip;
  • There is an additional screen;
  • Decent battery life
  • Implemented moisture protection;
  • Not very heavy;
  • Affordable cost.

disadvantages

  • Few focus points;
  • No built-in flash;
  • Video shooting is limited by resolution Full HD;
  • There is no headphone output;
  • The matrix is still not perfect;
  • One slot for a memory card.

The best mirrorless full-frame cameras

Sony Alpha ILCE-9 Body

Rating: 4.9

Sony Alpha ILCE-9 Body

Sony also produces its own full-frame cameras. She has forgotten about SLR models, so we recommend purchasing the Alpha ILCE-9 system camera. Such a device also supports lens change. But at the same time, it is slightly less than the mirror one, since its design is slightly simplified. However, this does not prevent this model from creating beautiful photographs.

The story about Sony Alpha ILCE-9 should start with its matrix. It has physical dimensions of 35.6×23.8mm. The sensor resolution is 24.2 megapixels, and the color depth is 42 bits. The matrix has a good photosensitivity – the maximum ISO 204800 is available to the photographer. Very impressive result! There is no doubt that such a camera will perform well even in complete darkness, when the sky is illuminated only by stars. But with a good lens, of course.

The main advantage of the Sony Alpha ILCE-9 is the sensor shift optical image stabilizer. In other full-frame cameras, this function usually requires the use of an appropriate lens, which can be extremely expensive. Another advantage of this model is the continuous shooting mode. It creates 20 frames per second! In this case, the clipboard will overflow only after the series reaches 362 photos. Note that the above figures are correct for saving images in JPEG format, in the case of RAW, the result may not be so impressive.

The absence of a mirror here forces the photographer to use an electronic viewfinder. However, 3 million pixels allow you not to spit from the picture. The owner of the camera also has a 3-inch touchscreen display equipped with a rotary mechanism. The screen consists of 1.44 million pixels, which is quite enough.

There is a long story to tell about Sony Alpha ILCE-9. This device has excellent hybrid autofocus. It includes many modules that were previously familiar from smartphones – Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and even NFC. Hardly anyone can find fault with the connectors, among which there is even a microphone input and a headphone output. By the way, video filming here is carried out in 4K-resolution, but the processor's power was only enough for a frequency of 30 frames / s. And this despite the fact that when the resolution is reduced to Full HD, the frequency can be increased as much as four times!

The disadvantage of this model is the traditional one for a mirrorless camera. A full charge of the battery used here is enough for 480 shots, and most often for fewer of them. However, who's stopping you from buying a couple of extra batteries?

Advantages

  • Weight does not exceed 673 g;
  • Outstanding image quality;
  • There is a built-in optical stabilization;
  • Very high ISO values available;
  • Not very large size;
  • You can photograph up to 20 frames every second;
  • Uses excellent LCD display with swivel mechanism;
  • A very large number of connectors;
  • Wireless standards are supported;
  • Video recording in 4K resolution is possible.

disadvantages

  • High price;
  • Not very long battery life;
  • Protection – only from dust;
  • Shooting in 4K resolution – only at low frame rates.

Nikon Z7 Body

Rating: 4.8

Nikon Z7 Body

Nikon is also betting on mirrorless cameras. And she, too, seeks to surprise the modern photographer. For example, a model called Nikon Z7 is capable of boasting a large clipboard memory. Also, this model includes a five-axis optical stabilization, which, by the way, does not have the above camera, created by a competitor. It turns out that with the purchase of this device, you can get by with a slightly cheaper lens that does not have a stabilizer in its composition.

Need to print images in very large format? In this case, you need the Nikon Z7. The fact is that the full-frame sensor used here has a 46-megapixel resolution. Unsurprisingly, this camera is regularly used to create stunning panoramas. Also, everything is in order with focusing – the device received 493 focus points. With regard to light sensitivity, the maximum user has access to ISO 102400.

Of course, the high resolution of the matrix is not only a plus for the camera. With such a sensor, it is almost impossible to realize the maximum rate of fire. In photo creation mode, you can count on 9 frames / s. It's up to you to decide whether this is enough for you. If we talk about video shooting, then when saving material in 4K resolution, a frequency of 30 frames / s is used.

On the back of the camera there is an electronic viewfinder and a tiltable LCD touch screen. The screen diagonal is 3.2 inches. It is worth noting that it consists of 2.1 million pixels – this makes the picture unusually clear.

Nikon Z7 is far from the most expensive representative of our rating. In this regard, the device could not do without flaws. For example, not everyone will like the memory card slot used here. The fact is that it is intended exclusively for XQD format cards. Also embarrassing is the battery, the full charge of which is enough for 330 shots or a little more. Well, the advantages include support for wireless standards Bluetooth and Wi-Fi. They allow you to use remote control, as well as quickly send the resulting picture to a social network.

Advantages

  • Excellent OLED – viewfinder;
  • Huge number of focus points;
  • Very high resolution full-frame sensor
  • Optical stabilization built-in;
  • Excellent touchscreen display with swivel mechanism;
  • There are wireless modules;
  • There is an additional display.

disadvantages

  • Extremely short autonomy;
  • Only XQD memory cards are supported;
  • Not very high frequency of video shooting;
  • Someone wants more connectors;
  • The price tag is not very low.

Canon EOS R Kit

Rating: 4.8

Canon EOS R Kit

This camera is capable of capturing the imagination of an unprepared buyer. And this is despite the fact that this model is mirrorless – the manufacturer had to reduce its size, as well as achieve a relatively low weight. The main advantage of the Canon EOS R is its sheer number of focus points. Against the background of this camera, it becomes ridiculous when the manufacturer boasts a number that does not exceed a hundred. The matrix installed here has 5655 focus points! This allows you not to overshoot with focusing even when using portrait optics, the aperture of which is open to f / 1.2. And the matrix is also capable of boasting support for light sensitivity up to ISO 102400. Not bad for a camera that costs less than 195 thousand rubles. And this is the official price tag.

Many people buy a mirrorless camera for video shooting. How else if she focuses so well on the subject? Movie lovers will definitely appreciate the processor used here. It is capable of processing information with a bit rate of up to 480 Mbit / s – if only the installed memory card supports this speed. As a result, the resulting 4K video will have unmatched detail. It can be easily used for professional purposes – even TV channels cannot find fault with its quality.

Of course, a 30-megapixel sensor with that many focus points puts a serious strain on the chip installed here. As a result, the manufacturer was unable to achieve record burst shooting speeds. But even 8 frames / s is quite a decent result. As for video shooting, at maximum resolution the frequency will not exceed 30 frames / s. The camera can be controlled not only by means of numerous buttons, but also through a smartphone – Wi-Fi and Bluetooth standards will be used for synchronization. As for the wired connectors, there is an audio output, an input for a microphone and HDMI in its reduced form.

Alas, we must admit that the components located in this chamber are not energy efficient. And the modest size does not allow using a large battery inside the camera. As a result, the full charge may run out after 370 frames.

Advantages

  • A very high bit rate is available when filming;
  • A large number of connectors;
  • Excellent touchscreen display with swivel mechanism;
  • There is an additional screen;
  • 4K video recording available;
  • Incredible number of focus points;
  • Comes with a decent lens;
  • High resolution full-frame sensor;
  • High sensitivity values are supported;
  • Not very large in size and weight.

disadvantages

  • Video recording rate in 4K resolution – only 30 fps;
  • The price tag is not particularly low;
  • Not very long battery life;
  • Burst speed will not suit everyone;
  • Built-in flash would be nice.

Sony Alpha ILCE-7RM3 Body

Rating: 4.7

Sony Alpha ILCE-7RM3 Body

Admittedly, this is one of the most popular mirrorless cameras right now. At least in such a high price segment. The Japanese company has created a real hit. She was one of the first to decide to increase the resolution of the full-frame matrix up to 42 megapixels. She also provided her creation with dust and moisture protection, thereby increasing the service life. A powerful processor was not forgotten, thanks to which the user will have access to 4K video recording. However, the frequency will not exceed 30 frames / s, which will sadden someone.

Some time ago, the Japanese knew a lot about creating smartphones, so it is not at all surprising that the Sony Alpha ILCE-7RM3 received support for NFC and Wi-Fi. These technologies enable remote control. As for saving photos and videos, two memory cards can be used for this.

Fixation of frames here is carried out by means of a matrix that supports an increase in light sensitivity up to ISO 32000. And this is in standard modes! If you use the extended one, you can increase the ISO value up to 102400. In a word, darkness is not a hindrance to such a camera. The only pity is that there is no built-in flash – there was simply no place for it.

In various tests, the Sony Alpha ILCE-7RM3 often ranks high, beating competitors with a similar price tag. This is facilitated not only by the high resolution, but also by 425 focusing points. Framing here is carried out using an electronic viewfinder, which consists of 3.7 million pixels. Unlike the optical one, it additionally offers to get acquainted with the basic settings. If, however, because of the selected angle, using the viewfinder seems inconvenient, the 3-inch LCD touchscreen with a swivel mechanism will come to the rescue.

Finishing the conversation about this model, one cannot fail to note the 657-gram weight. This is very important when the camera will be used outside the studio. Also, the camera will appeal to some people due to the presence of headphone and microphone jacks. Well, you can complain about the battery life – a full charge of the NP-FZ100 battery is enough for only 650 shots. However, what other mirrorless camera is capable of taking such a number of frames?

Advantages

  • Not very large in size and weight;
  • Implemented moisture protection;
  • A large number of connectors;
  • 4K video recording available;
  • There are wireless modules;
  • Decent LCD display with swivel mechanism;
  • Burst shooting speed – up to 10 frames / s;
  • Optical stabilization built-in;
  • High resolution matrix;
  • A very large number of focus points.

disadvantages

  • No built-in flash;
  • 4K video capture – 30fps only;
  • I would like more shots from a full charge.

Canon EOS RP Kit

Rating: 4.6

Canon EOS RP Kit

It is one of the lightest 'full frame' mirrorless cameras. The weight of the device does not exceed 485 g. This makes it the best companion for shooting outdoors. Also, this model has a relatively low cost – it is equal to about 130 thousand rubles. And this is the option with a lens included, albeit not the best!

Shooting here is carried out using a 27-megapixel matrix. Its light sensitivity can be increased up to ISO 102400. This means that if you have high-quality optics, you can take full advantage of night photography. But this is not the main feature of the camera. She is able to offer the photographer 4779 focus points! This allows perfect focusing, making it as smooth as possible. This is especially important when filming video. It is conducted here in 4K resolution. The only pity is that the camera is based on a not very efficient processor, so you have to limit yourself to 25 frames / s. But the camera is not deprived of connectors – when filming, you will definitely need a microphone input and a headphone output.

On the back of the Canon EOS RP is a 3-inch display equipped with a swivel mechanism. This screen consists of 1 million pixels and is additionally equipped with a sensor substrate. The device also includes a second screen that displays the current settings. In a word, in this regard, this model is in no way inferior to mirror competitors. Only it is noticeably lighter than them. Against this background, it is not at all sad that the manufacturer had to introduce an electronic rather than an optical viewfinder.

A modern camera must be able to interact with a smartphone. For this purpose, the Canon EOS RP has built-in modules Bluetooth and Wi-Fi. Only the GPS chip is missing, so you will have to forget about geotags. Also, some professionals will be disappointed that the camera is equipped with only one memory card slot. There was simply no room for the second.

If we talk about simplifications, then they primarily relate to performance. In burst mode, the camera produces only 5 frames per second. And some will be disappointed by the lack of a built-in flash. However, amateurs will not spend that kind of money on a camera, and novice professionals should already have an external flash. But the battery will upset absolutely everyone. The fact is that its full charge is enough for about 250 shots. Rest assured that the owner of the Canon EOS RP will have to stock up on a couple of extra LP-E17 batteries.

Advantages

  • The camera is very light;
  • A large number of connectors;
  • 4K video recording possible;
  • There are wireless modules;
  • Nice touchscreen LCD with swivel mechanism;
  • There is an additional screen;
  • Huge number of focus points.

disadvantages

  • Extremely short battery life;
  • Not very high burst speed;
  • 4K video recording rate – only 25 frames / s;
  • Built-in flash would be nice.

Conclusion

This is the list of the best full frame cameras. Any of them are capable of creating perfect shots. The differences lie in the nuances. Some models have a larger number of focus points, others are better sharpened for video shooting, but Leica products perfectly show the high status of the photographer.
