13 best AMD processors

Top computer ratings

Review of the best according to the editorial board. On the selection criteria. This material is subjective and does not constitute advertising and does not serve as a purchase guide. Before buying, you need to consult with a specialist.

Only two companies manufacture computer processors. Somewhere in the neighborhood, we told about the best chipsets from Intel. However, not everyone can afford such processors. Whatever one may say, but the American giant makes a serious mark-up. If you want to save money, you will have to consider buying a chip from AMD. At the same time, there is no need to be afraid, such a processor will also cope with most tasks, and it does not require only dropsy to cool it – an ordinary cooler is enough. In short, let's take a look at those AMD processors, the purchase of which practically does not disappoint.

How to choose an AMD processor?

To begin with, let's define exactly how you should choose an AMD processor. It's very simple. In this regard, AMD products do not differ from what they produce Intel. This means that the first step is to choose a motherboard. It depends on it which list of processors will be available to you. The point is that a corresponding socket is used to install the chip. And it depends on the socket which processor can be placed in a given motherboard. For convenience, we will definitely indicate which socket each processor considered in this article is sharpened for.

When choosing a chip, you should be guided by the specific tasks that you will solve with its help. For example, the cheapest processor, consisting of four or even two cores, is enough for an office computer. Believe me, its processing power is definitely enough to run Word and other similar programs. But if you are going to use a computer to run games or edit videos on it, then you have to spend a decent amount of money on a more powerful chip. At the same time, you should think about how long you want not to change computer components. The fact is that four cores are already the last century. If you don't want your PC to be outdated in the coming years, then it is best to consider buying a processor with six or more cores.

It should not be forgotten that an ordinary chip is not suitable for use in a server. More precisely, such a processor will show itself in such conditions from a not very good side. Chips designed for installation in a server have a huge lifespan. It also digests errors in the code better – it is highly likely that the appearance of such will not lead to a system reboot. In short, if you are assembling a server, then it is better not to save money – pay attention to the chips from the AMD EPYC series. By the way, the opposite is also true – such processors should not be bought for installation in a regular desktop computer.

AMD Ryzen Threadripper 2950X

Rating: 4.9

AMD RYZEN THREADRIPPER 2950X.jpg

A very expensive representative of our rating. Sellers demand at least 70 thousand rubles for this chip. However, this is a penny in comparison with the cost of processors of similar characteristics Intel. This chip was created using a modern 12-nanometer process technology, and the computing power of the product is provided by 16 cores. Of course, not all games and programs are able to divide the stream so strongly. But if the application supports 16-core processors, then you will notice a huge increase in power!

Usually, such multi-core solutions cannot boast of a high clock speed and the presence of integrated graphics. There is no graphics core here either. But with the clock frequency, no problems are observed – even when working by default, it reaches 3500 MHz. But you can also use Turbo Boost. In this mode, the clock speed can be 4.4 GHz! Along with 32MB L3 cache, this delivers record-breaking performance!

However, not everything is as good in this kingdom as it might seem at first glance. Unlike products Intel, AMD chips are very 'hot'. Not in the literal sense of the word. If the temperature rises above 68 ° C, the system will automatically shut down the processor to protect it. But the heat dissipation even during operation reaches 180 W by default, so the owner of the chipset will need a very powerful cooling system. A cooler may be supplied with the processor, but the option of installing it should be considered only as a last resort – it can cope with cooling, but at the same time it cannot be called silent.

The chip is installed on the sTR4 socket. The processor operates in 32 threads. Of course, there is also a memory controller, which is a four-channel. Interestingly, the chip supports the DDR4-2933 RAM standard as much as possible – competitors cannot work with such high-frequency memory.

Perhaps this is a great option for installation in a gaming computer. You just need to stock up on a good cooling system. Also, the AMD Ryzen Threadripper 2950X should suit professionals who use PCs for video editing and other complex tasks. But do not forget that such a processor will need a decent graphics card in combination.

Advantages

  • Very high clock speed;
  • A huge number of cores;
  • 32 threads;
  • Large amount of high-speed memory supported;
  • Very large L3 cache;
  • Serious overclocking possible.

disadvantages

  • In single-threaded mode it is inferior to chips Intel;
  • High heat dissipation;
  • Still, the price will not suit everyone;
  • You need a good cooling system.

AMD Ryzen Threadripper 1950X

Rating: 4.9

AMD RYZEN THREADRIPPER 1950X.jpg

This representative of our rating is about one and a half times cheaper than the model discussed above. It can be purchased in Russian stores for 50-58 thousand rubles. It may seem that AMD is unlikely to sell a chip with a huge number of cores for this money. But in the fight against Intel, she still took this step. Yes, the product received 16 cores, like the processor discussed above. The difference lies in the slightly larger size of the components – a 14-nanometer technical process was used to manufacture the chip.

Like other expensive chips, the product does not have an integrated graphics core. This is not a problem since AMD Ryzen Threadripper 1950X buyers cannot do without a video adapter. It could also give the impression that the manufacturer would lower the clock speed. But no, here this parameter reaches 3400 MHz. This is definitely enough for any modern game! And professional applications are unlikely to experience any problems. But do not forget that not every program can work with so many threads.

Like any other modern processor, the Ryzen Threadripper 1950X supports DDR4 RAM. The chip includes not only a memory controller, but also a familiar multi-level cache. To be precise, the L3 cache is 32768 KB. Not a bad figure? It indicates that the processor has a decent reserve for the future – it is unlikely that it is capable of becoming obsolete within the next ten years.

As for the shortcomings, they are typical for AMD products. The chip has high heat dissipation reaching 180W. At the same time, the user is not recommended to heat it up to a temperature higher than 68 ° C. This makes you spend a lot of money on a good cooling system. Maybe even a water one, if you suddenly want to do overclocking.

Advantages

  • Large amount of DDR4 memory supported;
  • Huge amount of third-level cache;
  • A large number of cores;
  • Very high clock speed.

disadvantages

  • The price, after all, cannot be called low;
  • It is difficult to find a suitable cooler;
  • Very high heat dissipation;
  • Not suitable for extreme overclocking.

AMD Ryzen Threadripper 1920X

Rating: 4.8

AMD RYZEN THREADRIPPER 1920X.jpg

An even more accessible representative of our rating. This chip is sold in Russian retail for only 31 thousand rubles. Of course, such an inexpensive processor for a gamer could not get a record number of cores. Here their number is 12 pieces. I am glad that the 12 nm process technology was used for their manufacture.

To install this processor, you need an sTR4 socket. The cores used here operate at a clock frequency of 3500 MHz. It's nice that the creators did not save on cache memory – its volume (we are talking about the third-level cache) is 32 MB.

The memory controller used here is capable of recognizing DDR4 strips. The only thing that may be a little upsetting is the lack of integrated 'graphics'. However, we will mention again that usually AMD Ryzen Threadripper 1920X is bought by gamers and people working in professional programs. It would be strange if such a person did not have a video card, don't you think?

When it comes to heat dissipation, there are no surprises here. This parameter reaches 180 watts. Unfortunately AMD is unable to make its creations colder. Therefore, the user needs a good cooler. Alas, for the aforementioned socket, a very small number of high-quality cooling systems have been released, so you can not find them in every store.

Reviews for this chip are written exclusively in a positive way. Buyers are not at all confused by the difficulty of finding a suitable cooler. But small overclocking is still found in mentions of shortcomings. But that's why AMD products are so inexpensive.

Advantages

  • A large number of cores;
  • High clock speed;
  • Very large L3 cache;
  • Supports high speed DDR4 memory;
  • The price tag cannot be called extremely high.

disadvantages

  • Low overclocking potential;
  • Great heat dissipation;
  • It is not easy to find a good cooling system.

AMD Ryzen Threadripper 2990WX

Rating: 4.8

AMD RYZEN THREADRIPPER 2990WX.jpg

Usually, the products in our ratings are sorted by value. However, sometimes there are exceptions to the rule. For example, just now we decided to mention the Ryzen Threadripper 1920X. This is the most powerful processor ever created by AMD. However, we still recommend that you first consider the option of buying one of the previously reviewed chips – their purchase seems more profitable. And only if you do not lack free funds, you can think about this processor. In Russian stores selling computer components, it is sold for 120-140 thousand rubles. Agree, for this money you can buy a top-end chipset from Intel, which many consider more reliable. And it will certainly support more extreme overclocking.

However, back to the product from AMD. Unlike almost all competitors, he received 32 computing cores at his disposal. At the same time, the chip requires an sTR4 socket – absolutely familiar, many motherboards designed for installation in gaming computers are endowed with it. By default, the cores run at 3000 MHz. High, but not outrageous parameter. It is felt that this chip should take by the number of threads, not the frequency. By the way, 64 threads are supported here, two per core!

Of course, this chip allows itself to be overclocked. Even using standard UEFI-B IOS you can achieve 4200 MHz clock frequency! Needless to say that this is more than enough for any game? The processor also features support for DDR4 RAM with a frequency of 2933 MHz. Importantly, data from memory is transmitted through four channels.

In short, the AMD Ryzen Threadripper 2990WX is an engineering marvel. It's amazing how such a relatively small chip can 'digest' such large amounts of data. How did the creators manage to place a 65 MB third-level cache inside the chip? Against this background, it is not at all worried about the fact that heat dissipation in typical operating modes reaches 250 W. The processor's operating temperature is 68 ° C. This means that it is advisable to purchase a water cooling system. If you install a standard tower cooler, you will have to forget about overclocking.

Nevertheless, it should be noted that the competitor's products do not have such abundant heat dissipation, unless we are talking about a server model. Without water cooling, a high fan speed is required, and therefore a quiet computer will definitely not work. This should definitely be thought about.

Advantages

  • Scary L3 cache size
  • High-frequency RAM supported;
  • High clock speed;
  • Extreme overclocking possible;
  • A huge number of cores.

disadvantages

  • The price tag seems astronomical;
  • Too high heat dissipation;
  • In single threaded mode, the performance doesn't seem to be good.

AMD Ryzen 7 PRO 2700X

Rating: 4.7

AMD RYZEN 7 2700X.jpg

A very popular processor, in favor of which those who are not ready to spend several monthly salaries on the purchase of a chip make their choice. However, it is also impossible to call this creation by AMD cheap – in Russian stores they ask for 25-30 thousand rubles for the chipset. At the same time, there is no longer a record number of cores – this chip does not take this, but a high clock frequency.

The product is made using a 12-nanometer process technology. It's nice. The 16 MB cache of the third level should also please. Believe me, competitors with a similar price tag can boast half the volume. As for the eight computing cores, they operate at a clock frequency of 3.7 GHz. This is a decent parameter, thanks to which any professional program will feel very comfortable on a computer with such a processor. Well, if you are an ardent gamer, then you will definitely activate the Turbo Boost function, as a result of which the clock frequency will increase to 4300 MHz. By the way, this eight-core processor can work in 16-thread mode, which is also important!

Paired with such a chip, you need to use DDR4 RAM. The maximum supported frequency is 2933 MHz, which is good news. But the number of supported memory channels, equal to two, indicates not the highest cost of the processor.

Several variants of the chip went on sale. And this is the case when you can consider buying a version with a cooler. Yes, it turned out loud enough, but its capabilities are enough to cool the processor down to 85 ° C. And how could it be otherwise if the heat dissipation of the chip is only 105 W? However, the OEM version is also quite acceptable. The fact is that socket AM4 is required to mount the processor. There are now a huge number of cooling systems designed for such a connector, and many of them cost quite reasonable money.

Advantages

  • Not a very high price;
  • Consists of eight cores;
  • A popular socket is needed;
  • High clock speed;
  • Large amount of high frequency memory supported;
  • Two threads per core;
  • Not the highest heat dissipation.

disadvantages

  • Do not overclock much;
  • Not very high performance in single threaded mode.

AMD Ryzen 7 2700X

Rating: 4.7

AMD RYZEN 7 2700X.jpg

This is a slightly simplified version of the processor discussed above. This model could not fail to get into our rating, since the chip is in stable demand. This is confirmed by numerous reviews and reviews. Buyers note that the processor easily fits into the AM4 socket, and it is not difficult to choose a cooling system for it. The heat dissipation of the chip created according to the 12-nanometer process technology does not exceed 105 W. Therefore, even a simple turret equipped with a single fan can cope with CPU cooling. By the way, the chip is able to work stably even at temperatures of 83-85 ° C.

Like its older brother, the chipset has a three-level cache. At the same time, the size of the L3 cache reaches an impressive 16 MB. It should also be noted that the eight-core processor works using 16 threads. By default, the computational cores operate at a clock frequency of 3700 MHz. If you use overclocking via B IOS, you can achieve a frequency of 4300 MHz. However, this is in theory. In fact, many units can only achieve 4.1 GHz – when this value is increased, the operation becomes unstable.

The product does not have an integrated graphics core. But on the other hand, a good memory controller is built in here, supporting DDR4 RAM operating at a frequency of 2933 MHz. As you might guess, two memory channels are used here – this is typical for a mid-budget processor.

Advantages

  • Not very high cost;
  • Large cache of the third level;
  • High clock speed;
  • Two threads per core;
  • High frequency DDR4 memory supported;
  • Not very high heat dissipation.

disadvantages

  • No integrated 'graphics';
  • Only two memory channels;
  • Strong acceleration is impossible;
  • Single-threaded performance is not good.

AMD Ryzen 7 1800X

Rating: 4.7

AMD RYZEN 7 1800X.jpg

Everyone knows that fairly inexpensive AMD processors are in the greatest demand. In particular, many gamers prefer to buy the AMD Ryzen 7 1800X over some more expensive chip. This is one of the most affordable eight-core processors. He, of course, has several limitations, but the average user will not feel them. Well, assemblers of top-end computers will not even look at the chip, the cost of which varies from 18 to 25 thousand rubles.

Let's start with the fact that the cores of this chipset are manufactured using a 14-nanometer process technology. They can operate at a clock speed of 3.6 GHz. If you use the Turbo Boost mode, then the frequency rises, but only slightly: only up to 4 GHz. It's nice that there are two threads for each core – not every mid-budget chip can boast of this.

The manufacturer's savings are noticeable in the built-in memory controller. It supports DDR4 RAM, but only two channels are used, and the frequency is limited to 2667 MHz. But AMD did not save on the cache. As in its older brothers, this processor has a built-in 16 MB L3 cache.

Octa-core chips almost never get an integrated graphics core. Their manufacturers rightly point out that such processors are built into machines with a powerful video card. AMD Ryzen 7 1800X is no exception to the rule. With regard to heat dissipation, in most cases it does not exceed 95 W. Nothing for AMD at all! In this case, the product functions successfully even when heated to a temperature of 95 ° C. In a word, you will definitely not need any advanced cooling system.

Advantages

  • Low heat dissipation;
  • Large L3 cache;
  • 16 threads;
  • A large number of cores;
  • Very high clock speed;
  • The price tag can be called affordable.

disadvantages

  • Only two memory channels;
  • Not very high single-threaded performance;
  • Weak overclocking.

AMD Ryzen 5 2600X

Rating: 4.6

AMD RYZEN 5 2600X.jpg

This representative of our rating belongs to the budget Ryzen 5 line. At the same time, the chip is made using a 12-nanometer process technology. This means that its production started relatively recently. And the cache of the third level of 16 MB confirms that the chip is unlikely to become obsolete in the coming years.

Chipset installation requires socket AM4 motherboard. Needless to say that it can be bought for relatively little money? You don't have to spend money on a cooling system at all – there is a processor version on sale, which already comes with a cooler. But even if you decide to purchase a quieter cooling system, there are many inexpensive models to choose from. The heat dissipation of the processor is only 95 W, so you don't even need to think about dropsy. The good news is that the chip can function without any interruptions even at 95 ° C.

If the processors sold for several thousand rubles more, consist of at least eight cores, then here their number is reduced to six. But on the other hand, the same clock frequency is left – it is 3600 MHz. And this is when using twelve threads! If you use the Turbo Boost function, then the frequency rises to 4200 MHz – an even more impressive value!

Despite the reduced cost, the chip supports DDR4 memory operating at 2933 MHz. The only pity is that two memory channels are used here. However, more of them are present only in twice as expensive chips.

In a word, one should not be surprised that the processor is not stuck in store warehouses. With its help, you can easily assemble an inexpensive computer that can cope with both modern games and professional programs. The product is not suitable only for installation in an office computer – for this it is still expensive, and there is no integrated graphics core here either.

Advantages

  • High clock speed;
  • The L3 cache reaches 16MB;
  • A large number of threads;
  • 6 cores will suit even many gamers;
  • Supports high frequency DDR4 memory;
  • Affordable price tag.

disadvantages

  • No integrated 'graphics';
  • Low overclocking potential;
  • Only two memory channels;
  • Not very high performance in single threaded mode.

AMD Ryzen 7 1700

Rating: 4.5

AMD RYZEN 7 1700.jpg

Another inexpensive representative of our rating. It already belongs to the Ryzen 7 series, which should formally include more powerful processors. And this chip really does a little better at some tasks than representatives of the Ryzen 5 line. It is with some – with those that allow you to use 8 cores and 16 threads.

For about 15-20 thousand rubles, the buyer will receive an eight-core chipset, for the installation of which you will need the usual AM4 socket. The kit can be different. Naked chips are sold at a more modest price. If you agree to spend 500 or 1000 rubles more, then in the box with the processor you will also find an air cooler. However, its capabilities may not be enough if you decide to increase the clock speed from 3 GHz to 3.7 GHz.

It's nice that when working by default, the heat dissipation will not exceed 65 W. An increase in this parameter occurs only when the clock frequency is increased (this is done by means of B IOS). At the same time, the product remains operational even if the temperature reaches 94-95 ° C. It turns out that you will definitely not like any powerful cooling system. This is very unusual for AMD products!

The processor includes a decent dual-channel memory controller. It supports DDR4 RAM, but its frequency should not exceed 2667 MHz. However, this will be enough for the absolute majority of gamers. The chipset is also capable of boasting a third-level cache, the volume of which is 16 MB. It seems that this is one of the most inexpensive processors with such a cache!

It remains to be regretted that there is no integrated graphics core here. However, what chip from AMD can boast of it? And is it really necessary for a person who is clearly going to install not only a processor, but also a video card in his computer?

Advantages

  • Large L3 cache;
  • High clock speed;
  • Eight cores and 16 threads;
  • DDR4 memory supported;
  • Very low heat dissipation;
  • The price is not high.

disadvantages

  • No integrated 'graphics';
  • Only two memory channels;
  • It is not recommended to use memory over 2666 MHz.

AMD Ryzen 5 1600X

Rating: 4.4

AMD RYZEN 5 1600X.jpg

The weakest processor from AMD in our rating. But even it has six computational cores! In contrast to the competitor, which offers to purchase exclusively a quad-core solution for the same 10-11 thousand rubles. To install AMD Ryzen 5 1600X, you will need the familiar socket AM4, which is equipped with a large number of inexpensive motherboards. And expensive ones too – there are special solutions for gamers that have modern high-speed connectors.

Usually, the fewer the number of cores, the faster they can run. This is in theory. After all, space is freed up where the released heat can be sent. AMD Ryzen 5 1600X was built on a 12nm process technology, and there is no integrated 'graphics', so there is really free space. As a result, the cores were able to operate at a frequency of 3600 MHz. And this is the default mode! If you use the Turbo Boost function, then the frequency will increase to 4000 MHz. However, does it make sense to use it? The increase is small, but heat generation and energy consumption should increase significantly.

One cannot but be glad that the chip can work in 12-thread mode. But the memory controller is only a two-channel – here the traditional economy becomes noticeable. It supports DDR4 memory sticks operating at 2667 MHz. Fortunately, this is almost the only processor component that the manufacturer saved on. For example, the cache is borrowed from more expensive solutions. This is confirmed by the size of the L3 cache, which is 16 MB.

Of course, the high clock speed could not do without serious heat generation. The default setting is 95 watts. But it cannot but rejoice, because if the chip can operate at a temperature heated to 95 ° C, the user will definitely not need some prohibitively expensive cooling system.

Advantages

  • Not very high heat dissipation;
  • Large cache size;
  • Very high clock speed;
  • Two threads per core;
  • DDR4 RAM supported;
  • Low cost.

disadvantages

  • No integrated graphics core;
  • Dual channel memory controller only;
  • There are problems with installing high frequency memory;
  • Low overclocking potential.

Best AMD Processors for Server

AMD EPYC 7501

Rating: 4.9

AMD EPYC 7501.jpg

One of the finest creations from AMD. And certainly this is the best representative of this rating, if we talk strictly about the models intended for installation in the server. For 300 thousand rubles, the buyer will receive a chip made using a 14-nanometer process technology, for the installation of which a motherboard with an SP3 socket LG A is required. This means that desktop computers are immediately overboard.

Unlike the products discussed above, this processor consists of 32 cores operating in 64 threads. To somehow reduce the heat dissipation, we had to limit the clock frequency to 2000 MHz. However, if your server has to solve some energy-consuming tasks, then you can use the Turbo Boost function, bringing the frequency to the already quite acceptable 3 GHz. Heat dissipation in this case will increase from 155 W to a slightly higher value – this must be taken into account.

Of course, such a chip could not do without a large cache. In this case, the customer will receive a 65 MB L3 cache. And there is also an eight-channel memory controller! As a result, you will be able to fill the motherboard with DDR4 memory to the eyeballs – the entire volume will be used. Note that its frequency can reach an impressive 2666 MHz. In short, this is an ideal server processor, if we talk specifically about AMD products.

Advantages

  • Very large cache of the third and second levels;
  • The memory controller has eight channels;
  • Supported by DDR4 RAM;
  • Large number of cores and 64 threads;
  • Extremely high clock speed.

disadvantages

  • High heat dissipation;
  • Astronomical cost.

AMD EPYC 7551

Rating: 4.9

AMD EPYC 7551.jpg

The most expensive representative of our rating. In Russian retail, they ask about 370-390 thousand rubles for this chip. To install it, you also need a motherboard with socket SP3 LG A. Moreover, the rest of the technical characteristics are also almost identical to the processor discussed above. In particular, the product was also created using a 14-nanometer process technology. And there are the same number of cores – exactly 32. They also work in 64 threads, which allows solving a huge number of tasks simultaneously. Here, even the cache is used the same – if we talk about L3, then the size of this cache is 65536 KB.

How does this processor differ from its less expensive counterpart? Honestly, this is anyone's guess. Perhaps only a higher prevalence. It is much easier to buy AMD EPYC 7551 – it is sold in more online stores.

As expected, such a chipset has a high-quality memory controller. It stably supports massive amounts of DDR4 RAM running at 2666MHz. There are eight memory channels in total. As for the graphics core, of course, it is not here. Well, the heat dissipation is 180 W. The figure is big enough. But this does not cause any particular problems, because even a fairly noisy cooling system can be installed in the server.

Advantages

  • Very large cache size;
  • Huge amount of DDR4 memory supported;
  • Eight memory channels are used;
  • 32 computing cores and 64 threads;
  • The clock frequency can be increased up to 3000 MHz.

disadvantages

  • High heat dissipation;
  • Extremely high cost.

AMD Ryzen 7 PRO 1700X

Rating: 4.5

AMD RYZEN 7 PRO 1700X.jpg

It would seem that one more representative of the EPYC series should finish our rating. But in fact, servers can also use processors from the Ryzen 7 line. Why not? Of course, such chips are not capable of recognizing 128GB of RAM. But not every server becomes a haven for this amount of RAM. And half the volume is recognized by AMD Ryzen 7 PRO 1700X. Well, the high power of this chipset will allow the server not only to contain many sites, but also to solve some much more complex problems.

The chip is easily mounted to the AM4 socket. In it, it can heat up to a temperature of 95 ° C, only after overcoming this mark, interruptions in operation begin. The heat dissipation of this processor is 95 W – almost half that of any full-fledged server chip. But the number of cores is not so great here – only eight pieces. They can operate at a clock frequency of up to 3800 MHz. Please note that there is no unlocked multiplier here. This means that full overclocking is impossible.

The product was created using the 14 nm process technology. It stably supports DDR4 RAM. The data is processed through two channels. The RAM frequency should not exceed 2667 MHz.

This processor appeared on store shelves in the summer of 2017. Since then, it has become a hit with both low-cost server builders and gaming machines. It remains to add that it has 16 MB of L3 cache at its disposal – as you may have noticed, this is practically the standard for not very expensive AMD products.

Advantages

  • Very high clock speed;
  • Low heat dissipation;
  • The price is not outrageously high;
  • 8 cores and 16 threads;
  • The popular socket AM4 is needed;
  • Large cache size.

disadvantages

  • Extremely low overclocking potential;
  • Only two memory channels.

Conclusion

Now you know which AMD processors are the best. We tried to consider both top-end chips and mid-budget models. Keep in mind that the cheapest chipsets are not designed for gaming computers. Low-end processors work well in an office PC – rest assured, they can easily handle running Excel, day planners and other similar programs. We also looked at the server chips – they can boast incredibly long MTBF. Moreover, such processors are better at handling code – it is almost impossible to cause an error to appear.
