12 best kids GPS trackers

Ratings of electronics and engineering goods

Review of the best according to the editorial board. On the selection criteria. This material is subjective and does not constitute advertising and does not serve as a purchase guide. Before buying, you need to consult with a specialist.

In the rich and diverse wearable electronics market, there are very specific but very important niches where there is no place for trial and error when choosing. A striking example is children's GPS trackers, which will be discussed in today's review of the magazine.

How to choose a kid's GPS tracker

To begin with, we will briefly guide the reader on the main points that you need to know and take into account when choosing a GPS tracker.

What is a GPS tracker

In its purest form, a GPS tracker is an electronic device for remotely tracking the location of the carrier. The device can be both highly specialized and multifunctional, or it can be a functional part of another gadget – smart watch, smartphone, etc.

The tracking of its own location by the tracker is carried out primarily according to the data of the global satellite navigation system GPS, but is not necessarily limited to this. Additionally, different models of trackers can be used to determine the coordinates of nearby access points of Wi-Fi networks and / or towers of cellular operators.

Form factor

The simplest form factor of a standalone GPS tracker is a miniature tag keychain that can be attached to a keychain, bag, schoolbag, pet collar, clothing, or any other convenient place that attachment allows.

GPS trackers in the form factor of a wrist fitness bracelet or smart watch are also widely used. In this case, the positioning and remote tracking function may be secondary and not always properly implemented. That is why it is recommended to carefully study the experience of real users and reviews of expert communities before buying.

As for the choice of a specific format, not only the reliability and accuracy of the device is important here, but also the availability of additional functions. So, for example, ordinary attached beacons are rarely equipped with rich functionality, while trackers in the format of smart watches have such additional equipment by definition. Let's dwell on the functionality of trackers in more detail.

Functional

The minimum required functionality of a GPS tracker is to report its location remotely. Most often, such tracking is easily done using a mobile application installed on the smartphone of a parent, guardian of an elderly person, pet owner, vehicle owner – any 'interested' beacon user.

Modern GPS trackers, as a rule, are not limited to only one function of reporting coordinates. Often, such devices are endowed with an additional set of capabilities: tracking and storing the entire route in memory for a certain period of time, setting permitted geographic zones for movement, message to the operator (parent, guardian) when an object leaves the permitted zone, remote hidden listening, emergency call in advance installed phones in case of difficulties, and more, simple telephone communication, video communication and so on.

SIM card

To transfer data, modern GPS trackers mainly use the cellular communication familiar to all of us. Specific models can be supplied with already built-in and non-removable SIM cards, which directly limits the choice of a mobile operator. At the same time, there are many other options that do not restrict the user in any way, and allow you to arbitrarily select an operator and a tariff plan.

Subscription fee

Most of the GPS trackers available on the Russian market operate independently of third parties, and the user will only need to pay for mobile communications at the selected rate. But there are also specialized solutions, following the example of the Life Button service, which require a small monthly fee, but at the same time provide additional services. The most important service of this kind is the accurate tracking of alarm calls with a subsequent quick response – calling the appropriate rescue services.

Availability for sale

There are a lot of reviews on the new GPS trackers on the network, and they are often very interesting and promising. So, for example, for a number of countries such models as Lil Tracker, Verizon GizmoWatch, Jiobit are produced. Even Samsung has released their own SmartThings Tracker.

The problem is that such reviews in Russian are often just translations of the corresponding publications on the English-language Internet, and the described models themselves were initially 'sharpened' for the corresponding communication providers (the same Verizon, for example), which simply do not exist in Russia. Or, as an option, the model may be universal, but it is simply impossible to buy it in the Russian Federation.

Therefore, specialists considered only those options that can be purchased in our country, and which will normally interact with our communication providers. We made an exception only for the Jiobit tracker, since it is a young and successful startup with a serious innovative component, and there is a hope that the model will appear on the Russian market in the foreseeable future.

The best kids GPS trackers in the form factor of a keychain, tag, pendant

In the first selection, we suggest you familiarize yourself with the most efficient and well-proven GPS trackers for children in the form factor of a keychain or tag. This refers to the mounting method combined with the miniature dimensions of the tracker. Such a GPS beacon can actually be attached to a keychain, but not only. It can be attached anywhere – to a school bag or backpack, to items of clothing. Some models are even externally stylized as a pendant for wearing around the neck.

Reachfar RF-V16

Rating: 4.9

Reachfar RF-V16

First, consider the simplest and most inexpensive Chinese-made Reachfar RF-V16 beacon. The model has become widespread in Russia for its extreme ease of use, reliability, functionality and reasonable cost.

The device is a miniature electronic unit enclosed in a plastic case with dimensions 34x14x40mm, weight – 27g. Tracker controls are located on its body – mechanical buttons of different sizes and shapes for easy handling by touch. The LED indicator signals the status.

The functionality of this model includes: GPS positioning with an accuracy of 5-15 meters, GSM communication, voice communication, sound alarms, remote listening to the environment, remote location tracking via a mobile application for iPhone and Android, as well as via SMS requests. An important function – the button SOS triggers a typical action for such devices – making a call to special, pre-registered phone numbers, or sending a message to the same numbers indicating the current location.

From the advanced functions of the model, one can single out 'geo-fence' – the device allows you to set the permitted boundaries of the location for the wards to move with notifying the parent if the child violates these boundaries.

For a clearer and in-depth understanding of the capabilities of the Reachfar RF-V16 tracker, we will list its key technical characteristics. The radio module for mobile communication supports GSM standards from 850 to 1900, the SIM card standard is microSIM. The GPS module is built on the SiRF IV GPS chip. The device is also equipped with a simple Wi-Fi module for additional positioning capabilities by access points.

Autonomous operation is provided by a built-in lithium-ion battery with a capacity of 350mAh. The charge is enough, depending on the intensity of use, on average up to a week. Charging via USB.

Reachfar RF-V16 provides two mounting options – a bow on the corner of the case for tying a harness and wearing it around the neck, clothes or bag; temples for a strap for wearing on the arm.

We also warn the reader that this model is often found with a slightly different name – Etrac RF-V16. These are complete synonyms in technical terms, only Etrac for a strange reason is positioned as 'for cats and dogs'. The strangeness is that the attachments are still more 'human' than for a dog's collar, and the animal, of course, will not be able to consciously press the control buttons.

Advantages

  • ease of use;
  • reliability;
  • can be attached to the wrist like a watch;
  • three-factor positioning;
  • GSM and Wi-Fi communication;
  • autonomy;
  • alarm button.

disadvantages

  • insignificant, more subjective.

GPS tracker A9

Rating: 4.8

GPS tracker A9

The review will continue with an interesting solution for GPS tracking, which does not even have a clear-cut name, and on trading floors in the Russian Federation it is most often exhibited with this name – 'GPS tracker A9'. Nevertheless, such a 'no-name' turns out to be unexpectedly functional, and even made at a fairly high technological level. Like many other examples of Chinese 'little things', this model can be found at points of sale under different names, for example, GoGPS with the same A9 index.

The tracker is made in the form of a pendant to be worn around the neck or anywhere, where universal fastening 'on a string' allows. And here the work of the designer is already clearly visible – the case has an interesting decorative texture and is available in three colors – white, turquoise and red. Case dimensions – 38x38x12mm, device weight – 23g. The case is protected from external factors at the IP65 level – complete protection against dust and moderate water jets.

This model is based on the processor MTK MT6261. The main positioning tool is a built-in GPS module, auxiliary means are Wi-Fi and cellular radio modules. The card format is MiсroSIM. Coverage of communication standards – from GSM 850MHz to 1900MHz.

Here, as in the previous model, three-factor positioning is implemented – by GPS with an accuracy of 5-10 meters, by Wi-Fi access points with an accuracy of 20-50 meters and by towers of cellular operators with an accuracy of 100 to 2000 meters.

The device is equipped with a built-in rechargeable battery with a capacity of 500mAh. A full charge lasts up to 5 days, depending on the mode of use. Charging is carried out via the micro-USB socket on the side of the case. The socket is hidden by a protective cap, which can be conveniently opened with the included tweezers. Full charge time is about an hour.

The functionality of this model is almost the same as the previous one: three-factor positioning; remote tracking via SMS requests; remote tracking, listening to the situation and control through the free mobile Aibelle application for Android or iOS; geo-fence; panic button SOS to call the set telephone numbers.

The device comes in a high quality, neat, almost gift box. Inside is the tracker itself, a USB cable for recharging, color instructions in English, metal tweezers.

Advantages

  • reliability and stable performance;
  • precise positioning;
  • convenience of direct and remote control;
  • quality materials and assembly;
  • stylish appearance;
  • high-quality and solid packaging;
  • dust and moisture protection;
  • equipment.

disadvantages

  • no obvious disadvantages were found.

GPS tracker T8S mini

Rating: 4.7

GPS tracker T8S mini

The third device in the magazine's first selection of the best GPS trackers is also a sample of high-quality Chinese electronics with a very blurry branding. Therefore, as a name, we provide a whole query string, according to which this model can be accurately found on Russian online trading platforms.

The T8S mini case has a regular round shape, diameter – 45mm, thickness – 15mm, weight – 25g. The design is neutral, the predominant materials are black plastic and decorative plastic “bronze” with an imitation of metal polishing. Attachment – an eyelet for 'hanging' carrying, into which you can thread a carabiner (included in the kit) and attach to a bunch of keys, a bag, clothes, etc.

On the edge of the tracker body is the main control – a large red power button (also known as SOS) and a microUSB socket for recharging. To turn on the tracker, you need to press and hold the red button for a few seconds – a sound signal and a blue LED indicator will light up the activation. The same pressing and holding the button in the on state activates the emergency informing function by the programmed telephone numbers.

There is an important point here – you cannot turn off the device by pressing a button. This is provided for the same safety reasons, in order to prevent accidental or unauthorized shutdown. Only the guardian operator can turn off the device remotely through a mobile application or by sending an SMS message with the shutdown command.

This tracker has exactly the same functionality as the previous two: 3-factor positioning, two-way GSM communication, panic button, remote listening and control, etc. For remote control, it is recommended to use the popular and well-proven universal application Aibeile – yes versions for iOS and Android. To register in the application, you will need an ID-number printed on a label glued to the side of the package, in the same place as the IMEI of the GSM radio module.

Advantages

  • Ease of controls;
  • reliability;
  • positioning accuracy;
  • high-quality packaging;
  • carabiner included.

disadvantages

  • a factory defect comes across.

Best kids GPS trackers in wristwatch / bracelet form factor

The second selection in the review of the best children's GPS trackers is the most extensive, which is natural, since GPS trackers as part of the smartwatch functionality are the most common format. There are many smartwatches on the market with remote tracking functionality, and many more are fakes. Therefore, a special guide from will help you make the best choice.

Lineable RWL-100

Rating: 4.9

Lineable RWL-100

First, we will consider the simplest and most affordable option, which is devoid of access to the Internet, has restrictions on the area of direct contact, but is not devoid of the possibility of remote tracking, using interesting approaches.

Lineable is a typical children's wrist accessory in the form-factor of a bracelet made of hypoallergenic silicone in different bright colors to choose from. In addition to colors, the manufacturer also offers three size options: the smallest S – 13cm for the smallest – from 1 to 3 years old; medium M for children from 3 to 7 years old; and a large L for the oldest age group from 7 to 9 years old.

Here, the conditional upper limit of 9 years old may seem strange. The thing is that the Lineable bracelet is primarily focused on tracking the location of the child within the signal acceptance zone Bluetooth – in this case, the manufacturer claims a radius of 45 meters in open areas. Indoors, the range of accessibility is significantly reduced, but the loss of a signal from a child who is carried away by something interesting in a noisy supermarket is not a loss of connection at all, since in this case the crowdsourced tracking function will automatically be activated.

Now more about tracking methods. Lineable was originally conceived and designed to track the location in the immediate vicinity – the same 45 meters of range Bluetooth mentioned above in open space. If the child leaves this area, a message is sent to the parent's smartphone. But at the same time, communication is not completely lost, and wearable gadgets of nearby people are automatically connected to tracking. This is precisely the essence of crowdsourced tracking technology.

The Lineable bracelet is a very elegant and original solution, but, unfortunately, it is not without its drawbacks. So, for example, the validity period of the device is officially limited to one year – even the power circuit is 'sharpened' for this, which assumes a non-removable battery designed for a year of use. In addition, there are clearly 'damp' moments in the implementation that require improvement.

The general conclusion is as follows. Lineable can be recommended for very young children for the convenience of tracking the location in a small radius, where the signal Bluetooth – module is well caught. For wider use, it is best to use the alternatives listed below. Perhaps the next updates to the Lineable line will show significant progress, since the project as a whole is promising.

Advantages

  • variegated colors to choose from;
  • convenient mount;
  • direct contact radius – up to 45 meters;
  • hypoallergenic materials;
  • no sim card needed;
  • crowdsourced positioning outside the direct contact area.

disadvantages

  • technical flaws that limit the real ways of application.

Jet kid smart

Rating: 4.8

Jet kid smart

Next, let's look at an example of the products of the Chinese brand Jet – a smart watch with a built-in GPS tracker Kid Smart. There are other modifications in the Kid series – Jet Kid Sport and Jet Kid Scout.

The watch case with dimensions of 45 × 40 × 15mm square shape with rounded corners and edges is made of hypoallergenic plastic. The assembly is quite good, the main colors of the case and strap are black-gray, purple-white and black-blue. The strap is removable, made of safe silicone. The connectors are hidden by plugs, but the manufacturer does not officially report the degree of dust and moisture protection.

The watch is equipped with a color graphic LCD touch screen measuring 1.44 inches diagonal. Brightness is not adjustable. The watch dial is digital. On the side of the case there is a slot for a SIM card of a mobile operator, a headphone jack, a USB connector. The main controls are the power / call button and the panic button SOS.

The functionality of Jet Kid Smart is much wider than that of any GPS tracker described above, and this is quite logical. Here we have support for two satellite navigation systems – GPS and GLONASS. A-GPS is also supported – quick cold start. The radio module for mobile communications is universal, and allows you to use SIM cards from any provider without restrictions. The supported communication standard is 2G (GSM 850-1900). To pair with a smartphone, the watch has a built-in module Bluetooth. All of the above set of technical equipment allows you to track all movements on the tracker remotely through a proprietary mobile application for Android 4.0 and higher, iOS 7 and higher; receive voice calls and make them yourself right from the clock; remotely and covertly listen to the environment; receive SMS. Additional functions: pedometer, sleep sensor, alarm clock, withdrawal sensor, display of missed calls and SMS.

The electronics of this model are modest, but completely sufficient for the tasks at hand – 128MB of RAM and 64MB of built-in memory. Autonomy is provided by a removable 400mAh battery. A full charge lasts up to 50 hours in standby mode, up to 24 hours in average 'normal' mode and up to 3 hours of talk time.

Advantages

  • good build;
  • wide functionality;
  • accurate tracker;
  • color touch screen;
  • hypoallergenic materials;
  • removal sensor.

disadvantages

  • a factory defect comes across;
  • there is no manufacturer service in Russia.

FindMyBaby Toddler for children 5-8 years old

Rating: 4.7

FindMyBaby Toddler for children 5-8 years old

Now let's consider three models of smartwatches with a GPS tracker for children of different age groups at once. Let's start with the option for the little ones – the FindMyBaby Baby watch is aimed at children from 5 to 8 years old, including those who have not yet learned to read.

The dimensions of the watch case are 51x32x14mm, the weight excluding the strap is 25g, with the strap – 36g. The strap itself is removable, the girth is from 11 to 19 cm. There are different colors, the most popular are black for boys and pink for girls. The LCD screen displays date / time, signal strength, battery level, notebook.

The main functional modules of the device are: radio module for mobile communication with GPRS support; Wi-Fi module; GPS satellite navigation unit. All three means of communication can take part in navigation if necessary – for example, the Wi-Fi unit scans the signals of nearby access points, and the GSM unit orients itself in the location along the towers of cellular providers.

The functionality of this watch with a GPS tracker is even wider than that of the previous model. Younger users and their parents receive: two-way GSM-communication with a call from a pre-established list of contacts (maximum 10 numbers); three-factor positioning by GPS, WiFi and cell towers; voice messages; 'white list' of incoming numbers; remote listening of the situation (quiet call); geofencing with a message from the parent in case the child leaves the permitted location; Speakerphone; remote control via a mobile application.

The tracker function assumes fixing the location of the device and its carrier every 30 seconds with saving all the movement routes for a month. Positioning is accurate enough – the position is determined with an accuracy of 10 meters, in the worst case – up to 50 meters.

The device is powered by its own lithium-ion battery with a capacity of 400mAh. A full charge should last for 52 hours of mixed mode, up to 70 hours of standby, or up to 3 hours of continuous talk. The charging connector – improved over the previous version – uses a magnetic clip.

In the assortment of this series there are also other models aimed at an older children's audience. These are FindMyBaby Schoolboy 7-12 years old and FindMyBaby Schoolboy sports 10-14 years old. The main functions with regards to tracking their location are similar to the described modification of the Kid, and the differences relate mainly to physical characteristics and additional functionality.

Advantages

  • quality of materials and workmanship;
  • ease of use;
  • precise three-factor positioning;
  • good autonomy;
  • geofencing;
  • two-way voice communication;
  • remote listening;
  • memory for all movements during the last month.

disadvantages

  • there is no service with not the lowest percentage of factory defects.

HIPER BabyGuard

Rating: 4.6

HIPER BabyGuard

Next in the review, we will consider a well-proven model of children's smart watches with a GPS tracker – HIPER BabyGuard. The device is oriented, like the previous model, for preschoolers and children of primary school age.

The watch case is made of safe plastic. Dimensions – 41x41x16.5mm, weight – 42g. The 1.34-inch screen is monochrome, and in this case the experts are unanimous in the opinion that this is not a simplification or economy, but a conscious and constructive decision. At HIPER BabyGuard, the emphasis is not on 'cover', but on real functionality and reliability, while many manufacturers often sacrifice more important things for the sake of a color screen.

The case is equipped with IP54 dust and moisture protection, which means that a certain amount of dust can get inside without harm to the operation of the device and protection from splashes. The strap is adjustable to fit your wrist.

Here, as in most noteworthy smartwatches with a GPS tracker, three-factor positioning is used: by GPS, by WiFi access points and by towers of cellular operators. For telephone communication, you need a microSIM card of any provider, with practically no restrictions.

Remote control of the device is carried out through the proprietary Hiper Guard application – for operating systems Android not lower than 4.1 and iOS not lower than 7. To link the watch to the parent smartphone, you need to scan a unique QR code in the application – it is depicted on the watch itself and on the menu.

The functionality of the device includes everything that is really needed and useful to ensure the safety of the child and parental control: precise positioning, setting of permitted geofences, two-way voice communication, etc.

The clock is powered by a built-in 430mAh battery. Operating time from full charge in standby mode – up to 140 hours, in normal operating mode – up to 90 hours, talk time – up to 2 hours. Charging via a standard microUSB cable.

The delivery set includes the watch itself, a power cable, a metal device for installing and removing a SIM card, and documentation. High quality packaging, increased reliability – all items are packed separately.

In the HIPER assortment there is another similar watch model with a GPS tracker – Hiper EasyGuard. This is a simplified version with slightly reduced functionality.

Advantages

  • exceptional reliability and durability;
  • positioning accuracy;
  • installation of permitted geofences;
  • two-way voice communication;
  • high-quality packaging;
  • autonomy;
  • equipment.

disadvantages

  • no removal sensor;
  • a factory defect comes across.

We will consider as an example one of the models that generally reflects the qualities of the entire line – Smart Baby Watch Q360.

We will immediately warn the reader – the Smart Baby Watch series, due to its popularity and variety, is almost the “ most fake '' today, and there are a lot of low quality counterfeit products. LEXAND Kids Radar

Rating: 4.4

LEXAND Kids Radar

The selection of the best children's GPS trackers in the form factor of smart watches will be completed by one of the most advanced solutions available on the Russian market – LEXAND Kids Radar from a well-known manufacturer of GPS navigators and related electronics.

The device is made in a monolithic format with an adjustable but non-removable strap. Dimensions – 238x32x15mm, weight – 35g. Available in two color options – aquamarine with light green accents and yellow with red. The case has a degree of protection IP65 – complete protection against dust and resistance to water jets (it is still not recommended to completely immerse the device in water).

The manufacturer approached the choice of materials as carefully and responsibly as possible. So, here TPSiV is used – a high-quality thermoplastic elastomer manufactured by Dow Corning (USA). The material is not only hypoallergenic, but also chemically highly neutral, soft to the touch, and at the same time durable. Does not fade in ultraviolet light. The minimum diameter of the adjustable strap is 35mm, the maximum is 50mm.

The screen of this model, similar to the above described HIPER BabyGuard, is monochrome with digital time display. The screen size is 0.9 inches. There is a blue backlight. The controls are mechanical buttons located on the right side of the case. By holding the button SOS a message is sent to the parent's phone. You cannot turn off the watch yourself – only through the parent's mobile application. This is by design to prevent accidental shutdown or malicious shutdown.

It is recommended to use the LEXAND Care branded mobile app for connection to the watch, setting and control. And this is the first set of tracker + application in our review, for which you need to pay a small monthly fee. In the application, you can register a watch using a unique QR code, and then enter the main parameters and settings – height, weight, age, gender of the child, photo, date of birth, etc. The watch can be operated not by a single parent, but by up to six people. • application with a monthly fee.

The best kids GPS trackers with additional service

The third and final selection of devices in the review of the best children's GPS trackers according to the magazine includes three examples of tracker models, which, in addition to direct functions, also have an additional paid service. The list of services can be very different – from a simple tariff plan for mobile communications to a whole call center that responds to certain events.

Jiobit

Rating: 4.9

Jiobit

The selection of the review will open with an interesting model, which is positioned as the smallest children's GPS tracker in the world. The device itself is the result of a successful Kickstarter crowdfunding campaign of the startup of the same name.

It should be said right away that the 'smallest' is a marketing exaggeration. The dimensions of the beacon body are 50 × 35 × 13mm, which is comparable to the previous model, and the weight of 23g also did not go too far from 25g for the same T8S mini, which we reviewed in the first category. But a further look at the device already commands respect.

Technological execution is impeccable, and even holding such a tiny object in our hands, we unmistakably recognize the high quality of materials and extremely careful assembly. The design and combination of gray tones are also harmonious and pleasing to the eye. The shape of the device is triangular with softly rounded edges. There are two clips with which the tracker can be easily attached to a belt, pocket, even laces or an elastic hair band. The body is sturdy, shockproof, waterproof.

Now about the possibilities. Jiobit tracker uses two key technologies in its work – GPS and Bluetooth. The beacon connects to the smartphone via Bluetooth, communicates with it for remote control and information. The role of such remote guardians can be performed by several people, similar to how it is implemented in LEXAND Kids Radar.

In the Jiobit tracker, the developers managed to embody an amazing sensitivity that allows you to track the location not only strictly the coordinate 'from the point of view of the satellite', but even often the floor of the building where the child is.

One of the most important innovations in this device is the effective implementation of machine learning technologies. With their help, electronics paired with the application study the behavior of the ward, find patterns and warn parents if the child suddenly deviates sharply from the usual behavior. For example, if the system 'knows' that every night, every other day, a child goes to the sports section, and at a certain moment suddenly goes in a different direction, parents or guardians will receive a notification without pre-set geofence boundaries.

Jiobit is a novelty not only for the Russian market, but in general. In the Russian Federation, the device can be purchased without problems, but not everywhere. The project is young, but promising, so it makes sense to follow the development.

Advantages

  • impeccable quality of materials and workmanship;
  • the smallest tracker in the world;
  • high sensitivity;
  • ultra-precise positioning, up to the floor of the building;
  • smart machine learning algorithms.

disadvantages

  • problems with the service due to the minimal presence in the Russian market.

Where is my S20

Rating: 4.8

Where is my S20

Now let's consider a GPS tracker, where in the first place is not so much the tracker as the service on which it is based. We are talking about the Russian project 'GdeMoi' – a developer of telematics and personal monitoring systems, which has been successfully operating in the Russian market since 2005.

S20 is a miniature device of an inconspicuous appearance, which, having connected to the corresponding services of the GdeMoi system, gets a wide range of functionality and additional capabilities. Outwardly, the device is unsightly, if not clumsy – a 'dull' black body made of not the most expensive plastic with the same faceless blue control buttons. There is no children's style here for the banal reason that the manufacturer positions the S20 as a universal product – for children, the elderly, pets, workers of certain professions.

Like most of the trackers described above, this model uses three technologies to track location: satellite navigation (GPS and GLONASS with A-GPS quick cold start). The high sensitivity of the device allows you to position an object in an open area with record accuracy – up to 3 meters. In case of interruptions with signals from satellites (for example, in the subway) or the operability of the GPS module, Wi-Fi access points and towers of cellular operators are connected to tracking.

The exchange of data between the S20 and the centralized system GdeMy takes place in the shortest time intervals, so that the movement of the object can be monitored almost in real time. At the same time, the route is graphically drawn on the map in the proprietary application. The update intervals are adjustable – by time or by distance.

The developers have put significant emphasis on the autonomy of the tracker. So, here, in addition to the battery, advanced energy-saving algorithms play a role, which can increase the time of normal operation without recharging up to 7 days. When the mode of constant and continuous tracking is on, the tracker will work up to 8 hours, which is also more than a decent result against 2 – 3 hours of a similar mode in smart watches.

The standard delivery set of the tracker includes the main unit itself with a built-in battery, a power supply for charging from the mains, a USB cable with a magnetic plug, a screwdriver, and documentation. A belt pouch can be added as an option.

Life Button T-01

Rating: 4.7

Life Button T-01

The review of the best children's GPS trackers according to the 'pendant-phone' version T-01 of the Russian service 'Life Button' concludes the review. Its main notable feature is that it works with the support of an entire emergency service, in which doctors work by telephone.

Externally, the device is a pendant with dimensions 61x43x16mm and weighing 35g. The body is made of high-quality plastic with a pleasant-to-touch coating. The two main color options are black and bright green. For charging, it is installed on the miniature docking station included in the package.

The basic technical characteristics of the device are generally the same as any other full-featured GPS tracker of this form factor, except that there is no Wi-Fi module here, and positioning is performed only by GPS satellites and by towers of cellular operators. This is not a critical limitation, and such a technological profile is sufficient for effective operation. The battery capacity of the Life Button T-01 tracker is as much as 800mAh, which is much more than any model described above.

Communication with the 24-hour emergency service is carried out via mobile communication – for this, you use your own SIM card. Tracking of movements can also be done independently by a parent or any other trusted person.

One of the most important aspects of the effectiveness of the T-01 Life Button tracker is the implementation of the drop sensor function. Although the button SOS allows you to signal an alarm at any time, there are times when the ward may not have time to press it – for example, in the event of a sudden loss of consciousness. In this case, the fall sensor will independently contact the support service, turn on the remote listening mode, determine the position of the body, and based on the information received, the operator of the Life Button service will make a decision to call an ambulance or the rescue service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, and at the same time notify all proxies about the incident.

Advantages

  • quality materials and assembly;
  • reliable and trouble-free operation;
  • positioning accuracy;
  • ease of use;
  • 'smart' fall sensor;
  • autonomy;
  • round-the-clock support of a special emergency service.
