The first place in this selection was taken by the most powerful, productive and expensive model – the optimal solution for those who, even at home, need regular high-quality color printing.

The device uses piezoelectric inkjet technology for color printing, is designed for the maximum format of A4 media, has an own dimensions of 375x187x347 mm and weighs 5.5 kg net – optimal for desktop placement. Made in a discreet, restrained design, the body is plastic, black. The front panel is equipped with a miniature 1.4 ”color LCD display. Power consumption – 12W in operation and 4.3W in standby. Working noise – no more than 50dB.

This is the highest print quality model of the other two. The maximum resolution in printer mode is 5760×1440 dpi, 1440×720 in copier mode, 1200×2400 in scanner mode.

Color speed for this model is also decent and almost the fastest in the collection – 15 A4 pages per minute. Monochrome is the fastest at 33 black and white A4 pages per minute. Time to print a color photo 10×15 cm – 69 seconds.

The printer is capable of borderless printing, automatic two-sided printing is implemented. In copier mode, you can reduce and enlarge the image up to 4 times, the number of copies per cycle – up to 99.

This model is much more compact and lighter than the previous one: 445x163x330 mm and weighs 6.3 kg. The body is plastic, black, the design is restrained but attractive. Power consumption in operation – up to 11W, while waiting – 1.2W. The nominal noise is slightly lower than that of the above-described Epson MFP – no more than 46dB. The panel is equipped with a 1.2 ”miniature LCD display.

Unlike the previous model, it uses a different color inkjet technology – thermal. Three color water-based ink cartridges are designed for 7 thousand copies each, black pigment ink cartridge for 6 thousand copies. Like the previous model, this MFP is equipped with a CISS.

The print quality capabilities of this model are slightly more modest than those of the previous one – up to 4800×1200 dpi. The scanner has a resolution of 600×1200, scans in color with 48-bit color recognition, in b / w – 256 gray tones.

Like the previous model, this MFP is capable of borderless printing and photo printing. Work speed – up to 5 color and up to 8.8 monochrome A4 copies per minute. This model is slightly larger than the previous one, but only due to the useful thing – the automatic feed tray: 450x224x364mm and weight 5.61 kg. The MFP is quite economical – only 10W of operating consumption and 2.83W of pending. The plastic case is mostly black, and in terms of design, this model is even more interesting than the previous two. The panel is equipped with a rather large b / w touch screen – 2.2 ”.

The technical print quality in this model depends on the color mode: up to 4800 × 1200 in color and up to 1200 × 1200 in monochrome. Scanner resolution – 1200 × 1200. Resolution in copier mode – up to 600 × 300, you can shift the scale up to 4 times in both directions. Scanning with 24-bit color recognition. There are separate modes for photo printing and borderless printing.

The maximum print speed in both modes – printer and copier – is the same, and is 20 pages per minute in monochrome and 16 pages in color. The interval between the submission of a job to the queue and the exit of the first print is 14 seconds for monochrome and 17 seconds for color.

A significant difference between this MFP from the previous two is noticeably lower performance. This is an exclusively home model without any office 'ambitions'. There is no CISS in this model either.

These machines are already able to satisfy the working requirements of a small medium office. Our experts have identified three worthy MFPs of different brands in the rich market offer. This is the largest MFP in the review – 516x514x522 mm, and the heaviest – 31 kg, but despite such dimensions, it provides for placement on the table. The power consumption is also the highest – 39W. The design is quite ordinary for this class of devices, but quite nice and modern.

This model uses piezoelectric printing technology. Resolution capabilities of this model are limited to an upper limit of 4800 × 1200 in printer mode and 600×1200 in copier mode. Scanner resolution – 1200 × 2400. Estimated resource of ink cartridges – 7 thousand standard copies for color and 4 thousand copies – black. Color ink – water-based, black – pigment.

One of the factors behind the outstanding productivity of this model is its high print speed – 34 copies per minute, and 22/21 pages per minute – copying (first print out after 7 seconds). There is a photo printing function. Automation of scanning is also a big plus – the scanner is equipped with a 1-sided device for auto-feeding of sources. Also, this model has an automatic 2-sided printing mode. In copier mode, it is permissible to change the scale up to 4 times both in plus and minus, with a step of 1%. Up to 99 copies can be printed within one job.

The operating noise is above average, but tolerable – 53.5 dB. The design of the device is classic, the color scheme is matte black.

With regard to print quality in terms of resolution, this model has exactly the same capabilities as the previous one: 4800×1200 – printer, 600×1200 – scanner and copier. Likewise, the MFP can 'print' borderless photos. The scanner has a color sensitivity of 24 bit and 256 shades of gray. The MFP can be used as a color fax with a resolution of 300×300 dots with a memory of up to 50 pages.

As for the speed of inkjet printing, this MFP is significantly inferior to the above model: 5 and 8.8 prints per minute for monochrome and color, respectively, in printer mode; 1 minute to print a 10x15cm photo; 19 seconds – scanning of A4 source in monochrome and color. The capacity of the copy cycle is 99 copies of one original. The scale can be adjusted up to 4 times.

The mechanism for automatic delivery of originals is designed for 20 sheets. Paper feed slot – up to 100 sheets. The allowable density is from 64 to 275 grams per square meter.

In terms of cartridge life, this model is practically in no way inferior to the previous solution due to the presence of CISS. The estimated capacity of the reservoirs corresponds to 7,000 conventional copies for color and 6,000 for black (pigment ink).

The communication capabilities of the model are sufficient for office needs – you can connect via USB, Wi-Fi or AirPrint.

In terms of dimensions and weight, this MFP is generally comparable to the previous solution – 435x195x380mm and 8.8kg, respectively, and at a price it is almost a quarter cheaper. In operation, the device is more demanding on electricity – 14 W (3 W – pending), but a little quieter – up to 50 dB. The printing technology is piezoelectric, like the first model in the nomination. In terms of performance, this MFP is the most modest of the other two and can successfully meet the needs of a small office.

This model has other indicators of inkjet resolution – 6000×1200 in printer mode, 1200×600 – copier, 2400×1200 dpi – scanner (19200×19200 – improved). Ultra-high performance is the result of intelligent algorithms implemented by the developers of the Brother company.

In terms of speed, this model does not compare with the described solution from Epson, but still slightly surpasses the previous inkjet MFP from Canon: 12 and 10 images per minute for b / w and color in printer mode with the release of the first copy after 14 seconds; scanning 4.38 sec color and 3.5 sec monochrome at 100 dpi. Color recognition – 24 bit. The ADF holds up to 20 originals. Borderless photo printing functions are provided. The cardinal difference of this model not only from the neighboring one in the nomination, but also from all of the above is the maximum format. Here it is A3 – the device can be used not only for printing documents and small-format visual products, but also for the production of posters, visual materials for presentations, as well as for more productive brochure production. The printing technology is piezoelectric.

This device is already much more compact than the previous one – 445x163x330 mm, and lighter – 6.3 kg. In operation, it consumes only 9W and 0.6W in idle. The noise, however, is slightly increased – up to 53.5 dB.

As for the quality of printing and image processing, everything here is quite high for this model: 4800×1200 in printer mode, 600×1200 – resolution of the scanner and copier. The depth of color recognition by the scanner is 48 bits.

In terms of print speed, this inkjet MFP is much inferior to the previous model: 8.8 prints per minute for monochrome and 5 for color; printing of one color photo 10×15 cm – 1 minute. Scanning speed of one original of full A4 size – 19 seconds. Up to 20 copies can be made from one original in one cycle.

The Auto Paper Reservoir has a nominal capacity of 100 sheets. CISS provides a conditional resource of ink tanks at the level of 7 thousand prints – color and 6 thousand – black. The printing technology in this case is thermal.

As for the methods of connecting the MFP to a computer, the possibilities here are very limited – you can only connect via a wire to the USB interface. However, for home use this is often quite enough.
