10 best gas ovens according to customer reviews

Kitchen Product Ratings

Review of the best according to the editorial board. On the selection criteria. This material is subjective and does not constitute advertising and does not serve as a purchase guide. Before buying, you need to consult with a specialist.

Despite the fact that the average consumer prefers two-in-one options (hob and oven) when buying a stove, in many modern kitchens with thoughtful zoning, it is more appropriate to install a separate oven. Having analyzed the market, experts have prepared a list of the best gas ovens from the world's leading manufacturers. In our review, we have divided the list according to the minimum and average prices.

Which company to choose a gas oven

Before directly analyzing the characteristics of the ovens, let us recall what the manufacturers of gas ovens included in the review are.

  1. Bosch is a globally renowned German company with a history that goes back more than a century. It has always been synonymous with the notorious German quality, but after the transfer of the production of many types of products to China, it significantly 'sagged'. Fortunately, this does not apply to gas ovens – they are manufactured in Italy at factories of partner companies.

  2. Indesit is a well-known Italian brand of large household appliances, part of the international holding Whirlpool Group. Gas ovens are manufactured in Poland.

  3. De'Longhi is another famous Italian home appliance manufacturing company founded in 1975. The ovens are manufactured at their own factories in Italy itself.

  4. Ardesia is another 'honest Italian' on the list of manufacturers. It is a trademark owned by the major Italian manufacturer Tecno S.p.A. Gas ovens are assembled at their own factories in Italy, but there are suspicions that not all of them, and some are assembled in China.

  5. Fornelli is already a pseudo-Italian trademark. Its creators try their best to present products in an Italian style, but all this is nothing more than marketing. In fact, this is a Russian brand, and most of the products are manufactured in China. Only a few details can be Italian in ovens.

  6. Körting is a brand of household appliances belonging to the Slovenian holding Gorenje Group. The history of the brand goes far back to 1889, when Körting & Mathiesen AG was founded. Körting gas ovens are assembled in Turkey.

  7. MAUNFELD is a British patent registered trademark with Russian roots. The owner is the Russian company 'VADAN Ltd'. MAUNFELD ovens are manufactured in Turkey.

The best inexpensive gas ovens under 25,000 rubles

Let's start with the three most inexpensive, but workable and, as far as possible at this price, high-quality gas ovens. This category includes Fornelli FGA 60 Destro, Indesit IGW 324 IX and Ardesia HX 020G X. Each of them includes:

  1. oven lighting;

  2. hinged door;

  3. mechanical rotary switches of the control panel;

  4. electric ignition;

  5. gas control.

Fornelli FGA 60 Destro

Rating: 4.8

Fornelli FGA 60 Destro

The gas oven of the pseudo-Italian (actually Russian) trade mark Fornelli FGA 60 Destro is made in China. Its dimensions are 59.4 x 59.4 x 56 cm. It is made in black with metal fittings. In general, the design receives only positive reviews.

The volume of the oven is the smallest among the three budget models – 54 liters. Three heating modes are supported. A gas grill is installed in the chamber. The fact that it's not electric is for the most part popular with users. And one more plus is the presence of a spit in the kit.

The triple glazing of the door copes well with thermal insulation, and the tangential cooling system based on a powerful fan guarantees minimal heating of the surrounding space.

Structurally, Fornelli FGA 60 Destro is a good and high-quality model, but there is one drawback in the most important part. Many reviews indicate that in the usual modes, the dishes from the bottom burn quickly, remaining raw on top. It is possible to achieve uniform heating of dishes only after lengthy experiments with the strength of the fire and the position of the baking sheet.

We emphasize that the presence and absence of telescopic guides is indicated below. This is not a mistake or a contradiction. Indeed, reviews from real buyers differ. Therefore, when buying, if this moment is important for you, you must personally make sure of the appropriate configuration.

Advantages

  • spectacular appearance;

  • there is a spit;

  • gas grill;

  • there are telescopic guides;

disadvantages

  • convection works loudly;

  • no telescopic guides;

  • uneven baking of dishes;

  • 'long' electric ignition;

Indesit IGW 324 IX

Rating: 4.7

Indesit IGW 324 IX

Independent gas oven of the Italian trade mark Indesit IGW 324 IX is produced in Poland. Its dimensions without packaging are 59.5 x 59.5 x 55.1 cm. It is made in the Inox color scheme (stainless steel) with black glass doors.

The chamber volume in this oven is a real XXL – as much as 71 liters. Those who like to cook a lot and often love it. An electric grill with a power of 1.8 kW is installed in the chamber. Unfortunately, it does not come with a spit. The grill is quite energy efficient – due to it, the entire unit falls into the 'A +' class.

In addition to a really huge oven, users also note the well-thought-out distribution of hot streams, due to which Indesit engineers managed to achieve especially uniform baking of the dishes being prepared, regardless of the load volume.

Some users complain about the lack of convection, but such cases are rare – the advantages of the model far outweigh the disadvantages.

Advantages

  • stylish design;

  • uniform heating of dishes;

  • large chamber volume;

disadvantages

  • no convection;

  • no skewer.

Ardesia HX 020G X

Rating: 4.6

Ardesia HX 020G X

Ardesia HX 020G X gas ovens are manufactured by the Italian concern Tecno S.p.A. The assembly is positioned as 'native' Italian, but there are big doubts about this. Too many users report extreme carelessness in the assembly and questionable quality of materials. All this is far from Italy and closer to China, which is 'in a bad way'. This model was generally included in the review only because of the adequate fulfillment of its direct duties and a more or less affordable price.

The dimensions of the unit are 59.7×59.5×56.4 cm. Made in a silvery shade – brushed stainless steel. The volume of the oven chamber is 60 liters. Two heating modes are supported, and in general, users respond positively to the uniformity of baking dishes. An electric grill is installed in the chamber. If you use only the grill, the temperature in the cooking space can rise to a maximum of 250 ° C. The set is not included.

Unfortunately, against the background of good cooking, this oven has many drawbacks: the double-glazed door is not enough for thermal insulation, the build quality is poor, and there is practically no full service in case of breakdowns.

Advantages

  • ease of care;

  • even baking;

  • ease of management;

disadvantages

  • short and unpleasant for the ear call of the timer;

  • no service;

  • no skewer and convection;

  • careless assembly;

  • the door and the temperature control lever are very hot;

The best gas ovens in the middle price segment

Now let's look at a large group of gas ovens in the middle price segment.

General characteristics:

  1. electric ignition;

  2. timer;

  3. gas control;

  4. convection;

  5. camera illumination;

  6. rotary switches;

  7. hinged oven door.

Bosch HGN22F350

Rating: 4.9

Bosch HGN22F350

The independent Bosch HGN22F350 gas oven is a product of a German brand and an Italian assembly. The place of production in this case matters – users do not complain about the quality of parts and assemblies. The design (austere silver high-tech) also gets the highest marks. Unit dimensions – 592 x 597 x 550 mm, weight – 39 kg without packaging.

The volume of the oven chamber of this model is 60 liters. The chamber is equipped with a 1.8 kW electric grill, which is quite energy efficient (class A). Four heating modes are supported: Large Vario Grill, Large Bar Grill, Bottom Heat (Gas), Convection Grill. Modes are displayed in the front panel electronic display.

This model has very good thermal insulation of the door due to triple glazing. The walls inside the chamber are coated with a special compound that provides catalytic cleaning (fat breakdown). The set includes a grill spit.

The oven is delivered without a plug. The presence of a temperature probe, if this is important, must be clarified – according to reviews, it is often not available.

Advantages

  • thermoelectric protection against gas leakage;

  • catalytic cleaning;

  • telescopic guides on two levels;

  • good thermal insulation;

disadvantages

  • no sleep timer.

De'Longhi PGGA 4 X

Rating: 4.8

De'Longhi PGGA 4 X

The Italian De'Longhi PGGA 4 X gas oven is assembled at the company's own factory in Italy. Its dimensions are 59.4 x 59.4 x 54 cm. It is made in silver-black color and a strict high-tech design.

The chamber volume of this oven is 55 liters. Equipped with two burners – bottom heating and grill (gas). The grill comes with a spit. Three heating modes are supported. Basically, users are satisfied with the uniformity of heating and the quality of cooking. The grill can be operated with the door closed. Users also praise the telescopic rails. The chamber cleaning method is traditional (manual).

As for the cooling system, it is ambiguous in De'Longhi PGGA 4 X. On the one hand, a powerful fan effectively blows out excess hot air, but the door is only double-glazed and the overall insulation of the case is not very outstanding. As a result, the control knobs quickly heat up and can cause burns.

The second trouble is that the touch control of the display becomes completely inoperative as the oven warms up. There is an obvious engineering miscalculation here, since this problem is not an isolated one.

But the biggest problem is the lack of proper service from the manufacturer, even in large cities of Russia. Even in the event of a warranty case, spare parts, including critical parts, often have to wait for months.

Advantages

  • spectacular design;

  • even baking of dishes;

  • telescopic guides;

  • hydrolysis treatment;

disadvantages

  • manual cleaning;

  • no service and spare parts;

  • the switches get very hot;

  • weak electronics and sensors;

MAUNFELD MGOG 673B

Rating: 4.8

MAUNFELD MGOG 673B

MAUNFELD MGOG 673B gas ovens are assembled in Turkey. Full dimensions including the facade are 595x598x583 mm. It is made in deep black color with minimal inclusions of stainless steel.

The oven chamber volume is 67 liters. Built-in gas grill, no spit included. The grill can be operated with the door closed. 4 heating modes are supported. The oven door is equipped with triple glazing. The inner glass can be easily removed for cleaning. There are 5-tier chrome-plated telescopic side rails.

The inner lining of the chamber is made of special enamel with the properties of splitting the accumulated fat, which makes cleaning easier. This formulation fits the definition of 'catalytic cleaning'.

The kit includes a standard pan, deep pan and grate, as well as an adaptation kit for LPG. As an option, the set may include a glass tray made of heat-resistant glass SHOTT (Germany), but this must be specified at the point of sale.

In general, users speak positively about this oven, complaining only about the lack of a spit in the kit.

Advantages

  • catalytic cleaning;

  • telescopic guides;

  • uniform heating;

  • high-quality thermal insulation of the door;

disadvantages

  • no skewer.

Bosch HGN22H350

Rating: 4.7

Bosch HGN22H350

Independent gas ovens of the German brand Bosch HGN22H350 are produced under OEM contracts at Italian factories. On the one hand, this is good (high-quality European assembly), but on the other hand, when repairing, original Bosch spare parts, as a rule, are not suitable. This is not a drawback, but just useful information.

Unit dimensions are 592 x 597 x 550 mm, weight – 40 kg. The volume of the chamber is 60 liters, it has a gas grill and a spit included. There are five heating modes, and all of them, according to reviews, work without any complaints. A special 'thank you' users say to the developers for the convenient telescopic rails on two levels.

In terms of thermal insulation in this oven, not everything is so smooth. The door heats up minimally thanks to three-layer glazing. But when the grill is turned on, the upper front panel with all the accessories – touch buttons, switches, clock, experiences intense heating. When the temperature rises, the sensors stop responding to touch, and in the future, you can burn yourself against the panel.

Advantages

  • telescopic guides;

  • catalytic cleaning;

  • uniform heating;

disadvantages

  • the upper front panel gets very hot when the grill is turned on;

  • sensors stop working when heated.

De'Longhi CGGBA

Rating: 4.7

De'Longhi CGGBA

The De'Longhi CGGBA gas oven is produced at De'Longhi's own factory in Italy. This model stands out from the others in our roundup with its retro styling, bronze accessories and ivory tinge. De'Longhi applies a very similar solution for several other product lines. Unit dimensions – 59.4 x 59.4 x 54 cm.

The volume of the oven is relatively small – 55 liters. There is a 2.7 kW bottom burner and a 1.7 kW gas grill. The set is not included. The grill can be operated with the door closed. The door itself has triple glazing, due to which it heats up minimally. There are three heating modes in total.

Overall, the user experience of cooking at De'Longhi CGGBA is very positive. Problems begin when repairs are required – many users talk about the almost complete absence of original spare parts.

Also, there have been cases of a factory defect in the thermostat, due to which there is a spontaneous shutdown of the gas and difficulties with its re-inclusion until the oven has completely cooled down. For buyers who got into such a situation, everything was solved by replacing this model with an almost similar one, with a slightly different specification.

The listed disadvantages are quite painful for users, since they are difficult to eliminate, but otherwise only good things can be heard about this oven.

Advantages

  • exquisite design;

  • good thermal insulation;

  • hydrolysis treatment;

  • fast and even cooking;

disadvantages

  • no skewer;

  • shortage of spare parts;

  • there are cases of factory defects of the thermostat;

Korting OGG 1052 CRI

Rating: 4.6

Korting OGG 1052 CRI

The gas oven of the German brand Körting OGG 1052 CRI is produced in Turkey. Its dimensions are 60 x 59.8 x 56.5 cm. The most popular model is made in 'antique white' color and retro design. Even the electronic display doesn't spoil the retro look thanks to green LEDs like in old electronics. We also supply models in black and copper colors.

The oven chamber with tangential cooling has a volume of 60 liters. According to the documentation, 5 modes are provided, but in fact, only 4 are relevant to cooking: bottom gas heating, convection gas heating, gas grill and defrosting. The fifth mode is just lighting.

The camera is equipped with telescopic rails that extend 80% of the length. In addition to standard baking sheets, the kit also includes a very exotic accessory – a stone for making pizza. It can be used to cook not only pizza, but also pies, pastries and other dough products.

By a combination of factors, this oven is closer to the premium class, as evidenced by its price. But this oven receives almost exclusively positive feedback from users. Manufacturer's warranty – 36 months.

Advantages

  • retro design;

  • stone for special cooking;

  • telescopic guides;

  • catalytic cleaning;

disadvantages

  • high price.

  • no skewer;

Best Narrow Gas Oven

And at the end of the review, we will consider another option for the oven, which may turn out to be the optimal (or even no alternative) option if there is a shortage of free space in the kitchen. This is a Fornelli FGA 45 Stretto narrow oven.

Fornelli FGA 45 Stretto

Rating: 4.9

Fornelli FGA 45 Stretto

This is a pseudo-Italian product (the trade mark has Russian roots), produced in China. Dimensions – 59.4x45x55 cm, laconic design and black color of the entire surface and accessories, except for the door handle.

The volume of the chamber for such external dimensions is quite acceptable – 45 liters. There is a gas grill and convection. The rotary switches have a built-in control for automatic electric ignition. Gas control of the lower burner and grill is provided (there is a spit included with the grill). In total, this model has five heating modes, you can set a sound timer.

The chamber door is triple-glazed so that the outer surface does not overheat. But the quality of the glass itself is in doubt, more on that below. The catalytic coating of the chamber walls greatly facilitates the maintenance of the inner surface.

There are complaints about the lack of a thermometer and backlight in normal mode. The backlight works only in conjunction with convection. But this is a minimal drawback. Reviews about cracking of the inner glass of the door due to high temperature look much more suspicious. Such reviews are systematic.

Advantages

  • compactness;

  • nice laconic design;

  • catalytic cleaning;

disadvantages

  • no backlight in normal mode;

  • frequent cases of cracking of the inner glass of the door.

Which oven to buy

  1. All three budget ovens are approximately the same in price, but they differ quite significantly in functionality and quality. Indesit IGW 324 IX causes the least negative feedback from buyers, and in general it is really the best option. Fornelli FGA 60 Destro could be forgiven a lot if not for the obviously uneven baking of dishes. Users deal with this through numerous 'experiments'. Ardesia HX 020G X – on the contrary, it cooks very well and without surprises, but the combination of minor troubles makes interaction with it uncomfortable.

  2. In the middle price segment, the undisputed and quite expected favorite is the Korting OGG 1052 CRI. It is also the most expensive, but far from at times, and from the Bosch HGN22H350 oven with its overheating, it is not far from the price. Great oven – De'Longhi CGGBA, but you need to be ready for replacement in case of a factory defect. For connoisseurs of sophisticated vintage style, this is hardly a significant obstacle. Another oven from the same manufacturer – De'Longhi CGGBA – has the same drawback in terms of lack of spare parts. There will be nothing to replace the model with, and in the event of a breakdown outside the warranty period, it will turn into scrap metal – there are simply no spare parts. Bosch HGN22F350 is a solid, working model, but it does not have clear advantages, and it costs almost like an 'elite' Korting OGG 1052 CRI.
