The Japanese company Bridgestone is one of the most renowned car tire manufacturers with a history of nearly 100 years of successful existence. Paying tribute to a reliable manufacturer, the editors of the magazine, together with in-house experts, have compiled a rating of the eight most successful series of tires, divided into seasonal categories (summer / winter). The main criterion for evaluation was the reviews of numerous consumers who have real experience of using Bridgestone products. Bridgestone's best summer tires

BRIDGESTONE ALENZA 001

Rating: 4.9

BRIDGESTONE ALENZA 001

A promising development for the SUV and urban crossover class, released in the summer of 2018. It is positioned as a high-performance summer tire with increased driving comfort, POTENZA's responsiveness and high durability.

Conceptually, ALENZA 001 repeats the classic scheme of cutting sipes for cars of the 'SUV' class, but the whole essence of the superiority lies in the plane of choosing the optimal angle, mutual displacement of the grooves and their alternation with four grooves along the rolling circle. All this makes it possible to achieve proper moisture removal from under the contact zone while maintaining controllability and stability of the car on the road. Some users note the tendency of the model to conquer off-road, although it is not capable of 'digging' the ground in the way that it is not capable of 'fighting' versions of the Dueler type. Upon release, ALENZA 001 was awarded a number of positive ratings and the title of the best premium tire according to automakers, thereby earning a contract and delivery to conveyor lines. Great start for great rubber.

Advantages

  • new premium development for SUVs and crossovers;
  • high resistance to wear;
  • ensuring driving comfort, including acoustic;
  • good tire responsiveness on the road.

disadvantages

  • not found.

BRIDGESTONE POTENZA

Rating: 4.8

BRIDGESTONE POTENZA

By far the most iconic summer tire series in BRIDGESTONE, which pioneered and successfully tested Run Flat technology, the essence of which is the ability to keep going after a puncture. Applying the technologies developed over the years of use in 'Formula 1', POTENZA skillfully transferred them to civilian transport, increasing the dynamic characteristics of cars at the stages of acceleration and maneuvering.

If you look more broadly, you can notice some similarity of this series with the already mentioned TURANZA – in the production of the tread pattern, there is also an unshakable classic and minimalism. However, all features are further enlarged in order to increase contact with the roadway and ensure high-speed traffic. The concept S007A stands out here – a typical low-profile tire supplied to the conveyors of sports cars from BMW, Ferrari, Audi and even Aston Martin. Of the oldest models, the RE031 can be distinguished, the origins of which were laid at the time of the beginning of tough serial tire differentiation. Be that as it may, but TURANZA is an important part of the success of the Japanese company, and neither users nor experts dare say otherwise.

Advantages

  • excellent speed characteristics and maneuverability indicators;
  • technologies tested in the prestigious Formula 1 racing series;
  • precise and sensitive responsiveness to the driver's actions;
  • compliance with the highest quality standards and very bold concepts in the line (for example, Adrenalin RE003).

disadvantages

  • not found.

BRIDGESTONE DUELER

Rating: 4.7

BRIDGESTONE DUELER

BRIDGESTONE DUELER is a series of no-compromise summer SUV and crossover tires with a powerful tread designed to significantly increase wheel grip on unstable road surfaces. Consists of radically different models, differing from each other not only in the location and depth of checkers / lamellas, but also in the degree of detail of the pattern.

Thus, the tires A / T 001 and A / T 697 stand out separately in the series, the main advantage of which is: excellent off-road stability coupled with a long service life. The balanced balance of softness / stiffness, on the one hand, reduces noise impact, and on the other, guarantees optimal handling. The other side of the off-road series, the H / P Sport and the H / L 400 are tires prepared for the road and not adapted to tackle off-road terrain. Their distinctive feature: an abundance of grooved lamellas for effective removal of moisture and other parasitic elements from the wheel contact zone with the road. In addition, the increased silicon content contributes to an increase in service life, albeit a slight one. Due to the presence of several principal versions, the series becomes very interesting for a wide user, which is clearly reflected in the statistics of the popularity of BRIDGESTONE.

Advantages

  • several versatile versions: for off-road and highway;
  • in general, a decrease in the level of emitted noise due to the correct balance of stiffness;
  • excellent handling and traction.

disadvantages

  • not found.

BRIDGESTONE TURANZA

Rating: 4.6

BRIDGESTONE TURANZA

Comfort class passenger tires belonging to the premium developments of BRIDGESTONE. Their distinctive feature: impeccable handling in difficult road conditions (wet asphalt, light rough terrain, etc.), as well as reduced resistance, resulting in reduced noise and increased maneuverability.

All of the above, with small additions, can be attributed to the TURANZA T005 model – a new development of Japanese manufacturers entering the conveyor lines of companies BMW, Toyota, Lexus and Audi. The classic tread pattern with enlarged detailing does not seek to amaze experts with a complex mechanism of operation and interaction with the roadway, but relies on canonical and effective technologies that are at the heart of tire production. The latter, by the way, concerns absolutely all representatives of the series (ER30, T001, ER300 RFT, etc.), who have chosen the path of the classics with their business card. On entering the market, the TURANZA series was greeted with warmth, with its inherent restrained and even 'elegant' interest.

Advantages

  • a bet on improving handling in bad road conditions;
  • cooperation with large conveyor enterprises in Japan (Toyota, Lexus) and Germany (Audi, BMW);
  • high level of quality and commitment to classic style.

disadvantages

  • not found.

BRIDGESTONE ECOPIA

Rating: 4.5

BRIDGESTONE ECOPIA

A lightweight series of summer tires for SUVs (EP850) and passenger cars (EP200, EP150), which provides the best indicators of comfort and economy, all other conditions being equal. In general, the conceptual design of the series is based on the creation of a detailed tread pattern with an abundance of small sipes and grooves along the rolling circle. Due to this structure and the softness of the tire material itself, manufacturers managed, firstly, to withstand the contact patch (without adding any noise in the indicator) within optimal limits, and secondly, to optimize the process of removing water and dirt when driving on a wet roadway.

In terms of economy, BRIDGESTONE ECOPIA is significantly superior to the rest of the series. Thus, in the class of the off-road model EP850, the average saving is 3.9%. With light vehicles, in turn, things are even better: EP200 provides up to 12.3%, and EP150 – up to 7.1% fuel savings compared to prototypes. All this is organically complemented by increased wear resistance and excellent road stability, so users were unanimous in their choice.

Advantages

  • ensuring fuel economy (up to 12.3%);
  • increased tire wear resistance due to the optimal selection of softness / stiffness;
  • good stability on the road, including on wet surfaces.

disadvantages

  • not found.

Best Bridgestone winter tires

BLIZZAK

Rating: 4.9

BLIZZAK

In the category of winter tires from BRIDGESTONE, the BLIZZAK series, developed especially for SUVs, urban crossovers and passenger cars, remains the constant leader. Their feature lies in meeting the high safety standards necessary for driving a car in snowy roads, ice and other hazards of the cold season.

There are as many as 14 tire models in the BLIZZAK range, each with a number of unique characteristics. So, for example, the DM-Z3 is manufactured with a wide center block and deep sipes for confident traction in loose snow. Passenger cars SPIKE-01 and SPIKE-02 provide good grip on ice and in snow due to a competent combination of rubber blocks, an original groove and abundant studs. But, perhaps, the most recognizable representative of the series is the REVO GZ model – a velcro with an asymmetric tread pattern and high control stability on any type of surface. All of these concepts are perfectly complemented by others, giving the user simply colossal space for 'maneuver' – the main thing is to determine what kind of characteristics of your car need to be improved.

Advantages

  • as many as 14 tire models in the line;
  • significant improvement in cross-country ability on snow and ice;
  • ensuring traffic safety by increasing controllability;
  • introduction of experimental technological developments;
  • the highest degree of reliability.

disadvantages

  • not found.

ICE CRUISER

Rating: 4.8

ICE CRUISER

Comfort class winter tires produced in two variable series: 7000 and 7000S. In their production reports, BRIDGESTONE representatives declare that the ICE CRUISER is tailored to the conditions of the Russian winter – the main target audience of this series, according to the calculations of the Japanese, is located here.

However, looking at the performance, their words can be completely trusted. The declared 4-5 seasons, these models pass without any complaints – the spikes sit tightly, and you should try hard to break them off. The efficiency of the grip on ice and on snow is also at a level: mixed routes are overcome by passenger cars without any visible problems, including due to the powerful tread with rigid lateral supports. Which, by the way, also play the role of an element that resists intense wear and tear, increasing the service life. However, users still do not recommend turning off the road: this is a purely highway series with shallow notches, capable of driving on a snow-covered road … but nothing more.

Advantages

  • series for overcoming small snowy and icy roads (mainly for highways and city roads);
  • reinforced tread with a strong sidewall, increasing the service life;
  • excellent grip on ice and snow;
  • high quality workmanship.

disadvantages

  • not found.

FIRESTONE ICE CRUISER 7

Rating: 4.7

FIRESTONE ICE CRUISER 7

BRIDGESTONE FIRESTONE ICE CRUISER 7 is an off-road winter tire designed for the harsh climatic conditions of cold countries. Possessing an increased level of safety, it allows you to overcome ice and snow-covered areas without any problems thanks to the joint action of harsh textured rubber and spikes.

The deep sipes of the ICE CRUISER 7 perfectly remove snow and slush from the contact area of the coated wheel, 'scattering' it on both sides of the tire. To maintain the working condition of the model for a long time, Japanese manufacturers have strengthened the side surfaces that are most vulnerable to breakouts and take on the main flow of pressure and external forces. It is noteworthy that for the entire set of parameters, this rubber has an optimal balance of price and quality, beneficial both for the overwhelming majority of consumers and for the manufacturers themselves.

Advantages

  • original arrangement of studs to ensure grip on ice;
  • reinforced central blocks for confident overcoming of snow obstacles;
  • development of side surfaces in order to increase the service life of rubber (3-4 seasons);
  • an excellent combination of cost and quality parameters.

disadvantages

  • not found.
