Huawei P20 Pro

Rating: 5.0

Huawei P20 Pro

By far the best of the best. When designing this device, the Chinese used all the most advanced technologies. This is most noticeable on the display. As in the case of the infamous iPhone X, in its upper part there is a cutout, which houses the front camera, complemented by proximity and light sensors. The screen was created by Samsung using the technology AMOLED. The absence of a separate backlit layer allows you to hope for perfect color reproduction. It also helps to reduce energy consumption – for this it is enough to use some dark theme. By the way, the capacity of the battery installed here is 4000 mAh – this is enough for a fairly long battery life.

It should be noted that the screen diagonal has been brought to an impressive 6.1 inches. Do I need to say that with this parameter it is very comfortable to play and watch movies? The display resolution is 2240×1080 pixels. The operating system is responsible for what is happening on the screen Android 8.1. There are no complaints about her work. Brakes are practically excluded. And how could it be otherwise when a top-end eight-core HiSilicon Kirin 970 processor is used paired with a Mali-G72 MP12 graphics accelerator? Also, applications and the operating system are helped by 6 GB of RAM. Well, for storing photos, music, documents and videos, 128 GB of permanent memory are intended. With such a volume, you can not regret that the smartphone did not receive a slot for a microSD card.

Two color options are on sale, but they promise to increase their number in the future. It should be noted that the colors used here are very unusual – you will not find an ordinary black or white smartphone. There is a special glue under the body that provides water resistance. Partly because of it, the weight of the device is 180 g. However, other components also influenced it. For example, the gadget boasts a massive camera. It consists of three lenses and the same number of matrices! The sensor resolution is 40, 20 and 8 megapixels. It seems that any creative task can be realized with such a camera – from macro photography to creating portraits. If you are interested in selfies, then such pictures are also quite worthy, because a 24-megapixel module is used as a front camera. You can send shooting results to a social network via Wi-Fi or LTE – the device supports only high-speed standards. There is also an NFC chip, thanks to which you can use your smartphone as a bank card.

Perhaps this is the best creation Huawei among the existing ones at the time of writing the rating. It is impossible to find fault even with the configuration of the device! The fact is that the product does not have a 3.5 mm audio jack, but the user will not need an adapter, since the manufacturer puts headphones with USB-C at the end of their cord in the box.

Advantages

  • Battery capacity increased to 4000 mAh;
  • A fresh version of the operating system is installed;
  • Excellent AMOLED – display with a pixel density of 408 PPI;
  • High speed data transmission available;
  • There is NFC;
  • Very good front camera
  • Gorgeous triple camera;
  • Implemented water protection according to the IP67 standard;
  • Very large amount of memory;
  • Uses one of the most powerful processors;
  • There is a fingerprint scanner;
  • USB-C headphones included;

disadvantages

  • No memory card slot;
  • The gradient-colored version is hard to come by;
  • Narrow earpiece;
  • High price;

Huawei Mate 10 Pro 6 / 128GB

Rating: 4.9

Huawei Mate 10 Pro 6 / 128GB

Another very nice smartphone. Its display has almost no side bezels. However, there is no cutout in its upper part – the manufacturer has left a standard area above the screen, where the earpiece, front camera and auxiliary sensors are located. The rear panel differs in that it practically does not slip in the hand. It is painted in two colors – a separate strip marks a pair of lenses. In short, the device is remembered, it is quite different from other Chinese smartphones.

Now let's go through the components of the device in a little more detail. The screen installed here is based on liquid LEDs. This indicates that there is no separate backlit layer that makes blacks usually not appear as such. In short, here the company Huawei followed the path of Samsung, which is good news. The resolution of the 6-inch screen is 2160×1080 pixels, which is quite enough for comfortable watching a movie or solving some other problems. Well, the aspect ratio of 18: 9 should contribute to the convenient use of two applications at the same time.

The aforementioned dual camera consists of matrices with a resolution of 20 and 12 megapixels. One of them is complemented by an optical image stabilizer that allows you to take longer shutter speeds. However, we can safely say that this will be required extremely rarely, because an f / 1.6 aperture is built here. Such a wide aperture opening allows you to shoot without any problems even in the dark! 4K video is also available here. Processing such a picture is not a problem for the eight-core HiSilicon Kirin 970 processor.With such a chipset, the user will also enjoy games – the Mali-G72 MP12 video accelerator will definitely not force to lower the graphics level.

The rest of the smartphone specifications are typical for a modern top-end device. There are 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of ROM. There is no memory card slot, but that doesn't seem to be a problem. But the lack of a 3.5 mm audio jack strains a little more. Luckily, the manufacturer ships headphones with USB-C at the end of their cable in the box. If you want to use your own headset, the included adapter will come in handy. It's probably not worth talking about wireless modules – Huawei traditionally implements support for most high-speed networks. There is even an NFC chip here, which the Chinese usually forget about. Well, the battery capacity has been increased to 4000 mAh, which is the optimal parameter.

Advantages

  • There is a fingerprint sensor;
  • A fresh version of the operating system is installed;
  • Good OLED – display;
  • Quite a decent front-end;
  • Great rear camera
  • Capacious battery with fast charging support;
  • Implemented NFC support;
  • High speed networks are supported;
  • Very large amount of memory;
  • A top processor is used;

disadvantages

  • Memory card cannot be inserted;
  • Someone will find it too large and heavy;
  • Only one SIM card slot;
  • Rarely on sale;
  • High price;

Huawei P10 Plus 6 / 128GB

Rating: 4.8

Huawei P10 Plus 6 / 128GB

An excellent device, which includes a dual camera, developed with the participation of specialists from the German company LEICA. Matrices with a resolution of 20 and 12 megapixels are hidden under the lenses. The main task of such a camera is to create the sharpest possible images. She also tries to blur the background, achieving a beautiful portrait. If there is a lack of natural light outside, then optical stabilization comes into play – it allows the system to take a longer exposure. Saves in such conditions and aperture f / 1.8, thanks to which the optics turned out to be very fast. By the way, the user is able to create not only photos, but also 4K video. Well, if we talk about the front camera, then it is much simpler here – it uses a traditional 8-megapixel module.

Such a smartphone is ideal for listening to music. This can be done using any wired headphones connected to the 3.5 mm jack. It also supports wireless headsets, the sound to which is transmitted via Bluetooth 4.2. On the upper end of the product, you can see an infrared port that is used to control a TV or speaker system. It should be noted that there is an NFC chip that helps in solving various problems. Internet access is carried out via LTE-A of the sixth category or a Wi-Fi module that supports the high-speed 802.11ac standard. In a word, the smartphone is fully equipped with communication means.

As a processor, the HiSilicon Kirin 960 is used here. This is an eight-core monster, supplemented by a Mali-G71 MP8 graphics accelerator. It seems that the capabilities of such a chipset will be enough for absolutely any device buyer. The same can be said about the memory, because 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of permanent storage are built in here. The volume of the latter can be increased even more by using a memory card. However, it should be borne in mind that a combined slot is used here, so you have to choose between an external storage and a second SIM card. The work of all of the above goodness is provided by Android 7.0. It displays the image on a 5.5-inch display with a resolution of 2560×1440 pixels. The default sound is played by stereo speakers. Finally, the gadget includes a 3750 mAh battery and support for SuperCharge technology Huawei. The charger is connected to the USB Type-C connector. In short, the characteristics of the smartphone are impressive. They are extraordinarily good for a gadget announced back in February 2017. Only the cost, which reaches 33 thousand rubles in Russia, can strain someone.

Advantages

  • Excellent dual camera with optical stabilization;
  • There is a fingerprint sensor;
  • Implemented support for fast charging technology;
  • A very powerful processor is used;
  • Built-in large amount of RAM and permanent memory;
  • There is support for Wi-Fi 802.11ac, NFC and LTE-A;
  • High resolution 5.5-inch display;
  • Good sound;
  • Decent front camera

disadvantages

  • High heating under load;
  • No waterproofing.

Huawei P8

Rating: 4.8

Huawei P8

This smartphone was announced in April 2015, making it one of the oldest in our ranking. Nevertheless, the device still justifies its cost, which definitely cannot be called low. The buyer will not be scared even by the operating system Android 5.0, which runs the smartphone out of the box. The image is displayed here on a 5.2-inch display. With this size of the IPS-screen, the dimensions of the device itself turned out to be very compact, often the help of a second hand is not even required to control the functionality. The display resolution is 1920×1080 pixels – the naked eye cannot exactly distinguish individual pixels. It is also nice that the manufacturer tried to reduce the thickness of the device – here this parameter does not exceed 6.4 mm. Against this background, it is no longer surprising that the smartphone weighs only 144 g.

Huawei P8 is by no means a flagship. However, under its body is the eight-core Kirin 930 processor, which at one time was considered top-end. In processing graphics, it is assisted by the Mali-T628 MP4 video accelerator. But the amount of memory may disappoint someone. 3 GB of RAM is quite normal, it will rarely be noticeable. 16 GB of permanent memory looks much poorer – with this amount the user will have to reduce their appetites in terms of the number of installed applications. You shouldn't expect anything supernatural from wireless modules either. These include LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11n, NFC (this allows you to use your smartphone as a bank card) and Bluetooth 4.1. The good news is that the 3.5mm audio jack is still here.

Unfortunately, this device may be missing something. For example, there is no fingerprint scanner here. Also, the manufacturer could have built in a more capacious battery here – 2680 mAh is barely enough for a full day of battery life, and even then only in a fairly gentle mode of use. The micro-USB connector also causes some sadness. However, in 2015, the time for USB Type-C has not yet come. The cameras used here are not very impressive either. The rear module consists of a 13-megapixel sensor, complemented by an optical stabilizer and an f / 2 aperture. The front camera has a resolution of 8 megapixels.

Advantages

  • Small size and weight;
  • A sufficiently powerful chipset is used;
  • Normal amount of RAM;
  • Data transfer via LTE is possible;
  • There is NFC support;
  • Quite a decent front camera;
  • The rear camera is complemented by optical image stabilization;
  • High resolution 5.2-inch display;

disadvantages

  • Not the most recent version of the operating system;
  • Not very capacious battery;
  • No fingerprint scanner;
  • The microSD slot is combined with a place for a second SIM card;
  • Little permanent memory;

Huawei Mate 10 Lite 64GB

Rating: 4.7

Huawei Mate 10 Lite 64GB

Another two-SIM smartphone in our ranking. And it can also be called that way only conditionally, because the slot for the second SIM-card here is combined with a place for a memory card. In Russian stores, the device costs about 19 thousand rubles. With such a price tag, you don't need to expect impressive performance from it. Although some specifications are still encouraging. For example, the 5.9-inch display used here has a resolution of 2160×1080 pixels. The pixel density is very high – it reaches 409 PPI. Well, the manufacturing technology (IPS) suggests that the screen pleases with the widest possible viewing angles. The operating system used here is Android 7.0 – this version is unlikely to be outdated in the coming years. The operating system is powered by HiSilicon Kirin 659, an eight-core chipset with Mali-T830 MP2 graphics. This is enough for the average user. As he will not feel and lack of memory.

For receiving and transmitting data, LTE and Wi-Fi modules are used here. The latter, unfortunately, is not dual-band. This means that it supports the maximum 802.11n standard. However, our language does not even dare to call this a disadvantage. But the lack of NFC will definitely be mentioned in their list – I would like to use a smartphone with such a price tag to pay for purchases.

There is a dual camera on the back of this smartphone. However, in fact, the second module plays here only an auxiliary role – it contains a very modest two-megapixel matrix. As for the main lens, a 16 MP sensor is hidden under it. About the same image quality is provided by the 'front camera', which has a resolution of 13 megapixels and is also supplemented by a two-megapixel auxiliary module. A fingerprint sensor should also please the buyer, which ensures the secrecy of personal data from prying eyes. Well, the battery with a capacity of 3340 mAh is responsible for autonomous work. It should be noted that the device was included in our rating due to the bundle. The Chinese traditionally put a cover and a film in the box for themselves, thanks to which you can immediately protect a rather expensive purchase in full. There are also headphones in the kit, although their quality, of course, is far from ideal.

Advantages

  • 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of permanent memory;
  • Not the highest cost;
  • Good equipment;
  • Fingerprint sensor is not forgotten;
  • There is support for LTE;
  • Quite a decent front-end;
  • Relatively good rear camera
  • Sufficiently high display resolution;
  • The work is provided by a very powerful processor;

disadvantages

  • Sizes may seem oversized;
  • No support for fast charging technology;
  • Micro-USB connector is used;
  • No NFC chip;

Huawei P20 Lite

Rating: 4.6

Huawei P20 Lite

Now more and more smartphones are on sale with a display with a cutout in its upper part. The Huawei P20 Lite is just such a device. Moreover, this device is much cheaper iPhone X, from which the design of the front panel is borrowed. But the savings in production could not but affect the technical characteristics. Most of the readers of our rating will be disappointed, oddly enough, by the display. It was created using LTPS technology. Yes, the viewing angles of such a screen are maximum. But for displaying the picture, a separate backlit layer is used here. This means that you will not be able to enjoy perfect black colors. And the monobrow will be visible even when watching a video in complete darkness. In our opinion, the cutout at the top of the display is only appropriate if it was created using technology AMOLED.

If we continue talking about the screen, then one cannot fail to note its pixel density, reaching 432 dpi. The resolution of 2280×1080 pixels led to such a result – a very high one with a diagonal of 5.84 inches. Note that the aspect ratio used here is 19: 9. It seems that such a display is very comfortable to work with several applications simultaneously. Image processing is occupied by the HiSilicon Kirin 659 processor, consisting of eight cores and complemented by the Mali-T830 MP2 graphics accelerator. 4 GB of RAM have been allocated to help him. Well, 64 GB of permanent memory is intended for storing all kinds of files.

The smartphone is running Android 8.0. Also among the advantages of the device is its weight, which does not exceed 145 g. But the rear camera here is controversial. It is a dual module, but the 16-megapixel matrix is complemented by a very modest sensor, the resolution of which is only 2 megapixels. A little disappointment is caused by the aperture, opened only up to f / 2.2. If we talk about the front camera, then its resolution is 16 Mp – this will be enough for the vast majority of buyers.

It remains to add that the smartphone has a fingerprint scanner and a battery with a capacity of 3000 mAh – neither more nor less. The charger is connected via the USB Type-C connector. In a word, it is not in vain that this smartphone got into our rating, with its not particularly high cost, it provides fairly balanced components.

Advantages

  • The latest version of the operating system;
  • There is a fingerprint sensor;
  • Large amount of memory;
  • A very powerful processor is built in;
  • NFC use available;
  • There is support for LTE and Wi-Fi 802.11ac;
  • Good front camera
  • The display has a high resolution;
  • Low weight;

disadvantages

  • The screen cutout can get in the way;
  • Not the best rear camera;
  • Slippery body;
  • Battery capacity could be higher;

Huawei Nova 2i

Rating: 4.6

Huawei Nova 2i

Another fairly large smartphone in our ranking. On its front panel is a 5.9-inch display, while the side bezels are practically not eliminated. I am glad that the screen resolution is 2160×1080 pixels. With this parameter, photos and videos look great – it's impossible to find fault with detail. A display was created using IPS technology – nothing else at a cost of 17 thousand rubles. not expected. There are no complaints about viewing angles and color rendition. Many buyers, when writing reviews, paid attention to the 18: 9 aspect ratio, which makes it more convenient to work with two applications at the same time.

The company Huawei builds a dual camera into almost all any expensive smartphones. However, in this case, it is just a marketing input. It is unlikely that the second matrix, the resolution of which does not exceed 2 megapixels, has at least some benefit. It seems that the main 16-megapixel sensor is already doing its job quite well. Note that the buyer of this device will not be able to shoot 4K video – the Kirin 659 processor installed here is capable of processing images only in resolution Full HD.

There is also a dual camera above the screen. Its main module has a resolution of 13 megapixels and an aperture of f / 2.0. The photos are very good – it is difficult to distinguish them on the smartphone screen from what the main camera is capable of. It is unlikely that any of the buyers will count on even better pictures.

This model is ideal for the role of an MP3 player. You can listen to music both through the built-in stereo speakers and through headphones. Moreover, they can be connected both by a wired method (no adapter is required) or through Bluetooth 4.2. You can store music in the built-in memory, of which there is 64 GB (it is also possible to install a microSD card). You can also use all sorts of online services to play it – LTE and Wi-Fi 802.11n are intended for this purpose. By the way, you can also listen to FM radio – it is also present here.

In short, Huawei Nova 2i is recommended for purchase. The device can only disappoint because of the lack of NFC. The rest of the product is good news.

Advantages

  • Good equipment;
  • Not the highest cost;
  • High resolution display;
  • Decent sound;
  • Nice dual cameras;
  • There is an FM radio;
  • There is support for LTE;
  • There are no special complaints about the processor;
  • Large amount of memory;
  • There is support for fast charging technology;
  • There is a fingerprint scanner;

disadvantages

  • No NFC chip;
  • The dimensions may seem large.

Huawei Y9 (2018)

Rating: 4.5

Huawei Y9 (2018)

Moving on to smartphones, which can be conditionally called budget. For example, Huawei Y9 (2018) can be bought for 15 thousand rubles. And there is no doubt that its cost will gradually decrease. Please note that the smartphone is running Android 8.0 – the most recent version of this operating system. It also stands out due to its display. Its diagonal has been brought to almost six inches. At the same time, the width of the side frames has been reduced to a minimum, and therefore it is still convenient to use the smartphone with one hand. And do not forget that the diagonal has increased not due to the width, but due to the higher screen height – this is evidenced by the aspect ratio of 18: 9. It remains to add that the display was created using IPS technology, which speaks of the maximum viewing angles.

Despite the low cost of the device, it also received a dual rear camera. But under the lenses installed here are very modest matrices – their resolution is 13 and 2 megapixels. It turns out that the buyer is waiting for pictures of average quality. However, is it really possible to demand for 15 thousand rubles. perfect camera?

Photos and videos can be quickly posted to a social network using an LTE connection. If we talk about Wi-Fi, then this module supports the 802.11n standard as much as possible. Unfortunately, there is no NFC here, so it will not be possible to replace a smartphone not only with a camera, but also with a bank card. But the fingerprint scanner is not forgotten, so personal data will be protected.

It's hard to find fault with the rest of the components. The Chinese have introduced an eight-core processor here, which does a good job of running heavy applications and games. Also under the case are 3 GB of RAM and 32 GB of permanent memory. The latter can be expanded using the microSD card slot. Many buyers will be pleased with the fact that the battery capacity has been increased to 4000 mAh.

Advantages

  • Decent rear camera
  • Low cost;
  • The latest version is installed Android;
  • Three body colors to choose from;
  • High resolution IPS display;
  • Connection to 4G networks available;
  • There is a fingerprint sensor;
  • A good amount of RAM;
  • A powerful enough processor is built in;
  • Good battery

disadvantages

  • Micro-USB connector is used;
  • Low bitrate video recording;
  • There is no NFC;

Huawei Nova Lite 2017

Rating: 4.5

Huawei Nova Lite 2017

An even cheaper smartphone. Of course, the cost of 12 thousand rubles also affected the technical characteristics. Nevertheless, this device could not fail to get into our rating. It hooked us with its compact size – now such small smartphones are less and less common. I was also pleased with the firmware based on Android 7.0. To unlock, a fingerprint scan is used, and many devices with a similar price tag lack the corresponding scanner.

The 5-inch IPS display installed here has a modest at first glance HD resolution. However, with such a diagonal, this is quite normal, as evidenced by a pixel density of 294 PPI. The aspect ratio here is standard – 16: 9. On the one hand, this makes watching YouTube more comfortable – there will be no black bars on the sides of the screen. On the other hand, working with two applications at the same time is extremely difficult. However, the smartphone was not created to solve such complex problems, as evidenced by 2 GB of RAM and a rather weak Snapdragon 425 processor, clocked at 1.4 GHz.

Now even such inexpensive devices are equipped with a good camera. Here it is a 13-megapixel module capable of recording video with a resolution Full HD. If we talk about the front-facing camera, then it is not so happy – its resolution is 5 megapixels. You can even take very candid photos. You should not be afraid that other people's eyes will see them. Especially if you activate unlocking by scanning your fingerprint.

The lithium-ion battery used here has a capacity of 3020 mAh. This is enough for a typical day of battery life if you won't be running games. The network adapter is connected to the micro-USB connector.

Advantages

  • There is a fingerprint scanner;
  • Compact size and light weight;
  • There is an FM radio;
  • Not the worst rear camera;
  • Work on LTE networks is supported;
  • Affordable price tag;
  • Extra large battery;

disadvantages

  • Micro-USB connector is used;
  • At some angles, the display fades a little;
  • Unpretentious front camera;
  • There is no NFC;
  • I would like to get a more powerful processor;
  • The amount of memory will not suit everyone;

Huawei Y6 (2018)

Rating: 4.5

Huawei Y6 (2018)

Another smartphone in our ranking, which has three color options. This is one of the cheapest devices, thanks to which it becomes available to the general population. For only 9 thousand rubles. you get a device with a fresh version of the operating system, under the body of which is hidden a quad-core Snapdragon 425 processor. Its power is enough to process a picture with a resolution of 1440×720 pixels. And this is exactly the resolution that the display installed here has. It is a pity that its diagonal is too large. At 5.7 inches, a person with sharp eyesight can see pixelation. Also, such a diagonal made the smartphone large enough – not all people will find it convenient to use it.

The product includes 2 GB of RAM and 16 GB of permanent memory. This is the standard volume for an inexpensive smartphone. There is also support for LTE, thanks to which high-speed data transfer is carried out. The rear panel houses the 13MP camera lens. The quality of the images obtained is not bad, but not gorgeous either. It is unlikely that something more can be demanded from such a device. But I would still like to get a fingerprint scanner. However, the manufacturer had to abandon it, otherwise the smartphone would have turned out to be more expensive.

Please note that there is a version Huawei Y6 (2018) with an NFC chip – it has the ATU-L11 index.

Advantages

  • Light and proximity sensors are not forgotten;
  • Low cost;
  • A large number of color options;
  • Low weight;
  • Relatively good rear camera
  • There is support for LTE;
  • The battery has a fairly high capacity;

disadvantages

  • Bulk modification has no NFC chip;
  • The dimensions seem to be too large;
  • Not the best display;
  • Not very large amount of memory;
  • Micro-USB connector used;

Huawei Y5 Prime (2018)

Rating: 4.4

Huawei Y5 Prime (2018)

The cheapest device in our rating, estimated by Russian sellers at 7500 rubles. It is also the lightest – it weighs only 142 g. At the same time, it cannot be called small, since there is a 5.45-inch display on the front panel, which is processed by the operating system Android 8.1 (definitely not obsolete in the next three to four years). The screen has an aspect ratio of 18: 9, and it was created using IPS technology. With such a low price tag, this cannot but rejoice, because everything could be much worse. The display resolution is 1440×720 – this is enough for comfortable use. It should also be noted that there are three color variants of this smartphone – in the budget segment, this can please not all models.

The front panel houses not only the screen, but also the front camera. Its resolution is 5 megapixels, which can be called an acceptable parameter. The main camera pleases even more – the resolution of its matrix reaches 13 megapixels. Perhaps these are quite decent indicators for such an inexpensive device.

The device is not deprived of a 3.5 mm jack. At the same time, no one forbids using for sound transmission Bluetooth. Another among the available wireless modules is Wi-Fi – it operates using the 802.11n standard. You can also access the Internet using LTE networks.

As a processor, the most inexpensive solution available to a Chinese manufacturer is involved here – MediaTek MT6739. It is a quad-core chipset, complemented by a PowerVR GE8100 graphics accelerator. This will be enough for applications, but it is better not to think about heavy 3D games. Even under the body of the device there are 2 GB of RAM and 16 GB of permanent memory. Also somewhere under the back cover there is a 3020 mAh battery. Recharging is carried out via the micro-USB connector. Finally, there are proximity and lighting sensors, which some cheap smartphones lack. But there is no fingerprint scanner and NFC here – it's sad.

Advantages

  • Three body color options;
  • Low cost;
  • There is support for LTE;
  • Decent rear camera
  • Good viewing angles;
  • Weight is 142g;
  • The most recent version of the operating system;

disadvantages

  • There is no fingerprint sensor;
  • Weak processor;
  • Insufficient memory capacity;
  • There is no NFC;
  • Not the highest display resolution;
  • No NFC chip;

Conclusion

This is the list of the best smartphones distributed under the brand Huawei. The characteristics of the devices reviewed in this article are pleasing to the eye. Positive impressions remain from their appearance. In a word, such devices are hardly capable of disappointing their owner. And pay attention to the fact that we talked about smartphones Honor (they are also developed and manufactured by the company Huawei) in a separate article.
